Facetime & iMessage won't verify email

My gmail account won't verify either in settings or when I access my Apple ID. This was fine until IOS7 upgrade.

Cancel the above reply as my mb pro settings are now constantly trying to verify my gmail address in Facetime & imessage. I cannot get apple to verify my gmail address in my account settings even though it is set as my recovery address. My Apple ID is a different address which is how I want it. Is this a google v apple problem?

I can't activate FaceTime on the new ipad. I can sign in with my apple ID fine, but at the e-mail step it fails. No matter what e-mail address I put in there (including my apple ID), it spends about 30 seconds with a spinny icon saying "Verifying...", then says it couldn't verify, sent a verification email to the above address, follow the instructions in the email, but I NEVER GET AN EMAIL. I've done this perhaps 50 times over the last week and it always behaves the same.
It's extra bizarre because I go through the exact same steps for FaceTime on my MacBook Air, and it verifies instantly, and I have made many succesful facetime calls using my Air. But I can't sign up on the iPad.

HERE'S WHAT WORKED FOR ME: I signed out of Facetime on my mac and then I could sign in on my ipad. Suddenly after 50 attempts, my ipad verified instantly (it didn't even send an e-mail, it just verified instantly). I guess being signed in on my mac caused some kind of conflict on Apple's servers. Now for the funny part: I was immediately able to sign-in again on my mac and now both my pad and mac have working FaceTime. You just can't be signed in on your mac when you are trying to setup FaceTime for the first time on the iPad. I guess.

My new iPad won't verify email address for FaceTime . Had FaceTime on iPhone. Signed out to see if I could sign in on IPad . Now can't sign in on either. Any ideas?

IMessages won't verify apple id

Hey guys, I recently turned my iMessages off and when I turned it on again it refused to verify my apple Id. I have restarted my iPad several times and changed my password a few times as well, my apple Id works on the app store and iTunes I have ios 5.1.1

IMessage won't use email as contact

OK I don't have a text plan with my phone, so I went into Messages in the settings and turned the SMS and MMS options off and pointed everything to my email address. However, whenever I try to send an iMessage to a known contact that is also using iOS5, it only brings up phone numbers and none of the email addresses I know to work. I know they work because on my iPad, I'm carrying on conversations with people. But the phone will simply not give me the email option on the phone's app. In fact, it isn't giving the option of ANY email addresses, only phone numbers.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

I seem to have the same problem. I have been trying all day. Sent a message from my wife's iPad to my iPhone and i can then continue the chat. However, when i try to add a contact with an email address, it just wont show up. Even, trying to iMessage from the contacts application doesn't seem to work as the address is reformatted without the '@' symbol in between.
My brother also has the same iPhone4 and we updated at the same time. And his works just fine. The email addresses show up right in the contacts filed of iMessage. Really frustrating.
Please let me know if there's a solution.

Imessage Stuck in verifying email

Ok i have and ipod touch 4 with IOS 5.0.1 and i have been trying to activate imessage, first i have to sign in with my apple id then i got to another screen where i have to verify wich mail i will use to get messages and then when i click next i the upper part of the screen i get a ¨verifying ¨message and then back to apple ID screen, i have tried changind my dns to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4 but its not working, i cant get pass this screen where i have to confirm my mail, i have already activated this mail with my apple ID

My iMessages won't verify/register with my phone number.

I have AT&T running iOS 6b3 and have just recently discovered this problem. ive tried all the normal stuff. nothing works.
it wasnt even a problem until recently my freinds said that they have two txt sessions/chats/whatever they are called (because i txt from mountain lion on my mac sometimes) and they dont know which to txt, and yet there are perfectly combined on mine... so strange. they cant txt with imessage to me from there macs/ipads/ipods because my number comes up as unregistered with iMessage.
Same as all the above with facetime.

And none of the various android devices making the android platform fragmented as all get out ever have any problems.
Be sure to purchase and use antivirus with your android since you'll certainly need it.

rimi, You finally hit on the right solution. I have been a little haphazard in creating Apple IDs over the years. Partly Apple's fault for not making it clear that iTunes and the Store etc. all use the same ID. Anyway, after a couple of chats and some experimentation I discovered that I actually had 4 Apple IDs! The oldest one wasn't even an email address it was more like a user name. My primary email address was associated that name and was keeping the more recent IDs from associating with FaceTime properly since I was trying to use the primary email address in a newer account that was a dup of the original account.

you can look up your ID by entering your expected email addresses. It found my primary old account and reset the PW but I couldn't then log in because I didn't have the correct ID. The solution was to change the email address in accounts I could see to something besides the primary address (I used real addresses, apparently you found that bogus ones would work too.) Then I could search for the primary address in my original ID, reset the PW and finally get logged in to the original account.
FYI, I called Apple help a couple of times and asked them to tell me my accounts, but they didn't see (or least didn't mention) the oldest one that was causing the issue by having my primary email associated with more than one Apple ID. Unfortunately Apple apparently has no way to merge into one account. The only option is to delete an account but you loose any purchases made against that account.

EP Printer Won't verify Email Addresses

I have downloaded the app for EPrint. I tried to enter both my Comcast email as well as my gMail email addresses into the program and time after time it comes back that it cannot verify. I have tried rebooting the whole system, modem and all. Please help!

I would like to offer a suggestion that may resolve your Email registration issue within the ePrint app. Most of the main Email providers have implemented something called Two-Step Verification. This will need to be disabled, or have an app specific password setup.
