Facetime Incoming Calls Cannot Be Muted
I want my phone to ring, not my computer so I turn off the audio for Facetime under notifications but it still rings. It even keeps ringing after I have answered the iPhone so I end up having to either turn off the ringer on the iPhone of disable Facetime iPhone calls entirely.
I think the only solution is to turn off iPhone Cellular calls in the FaceTime prefs. This seems true with my iPad too. Ringing on the iPad happens no matter what settings (turned off) I have for FaceTime notifications. This must be Apple defining an iPhone Cellular call as different than a FaceTime call.

6288 incoming calls cannot be heard unless loudspe...
when i recieve incoming calls i have to turn on my loudspeaker to hear the dialer. also there is some odd headphone picture and i don't know how to remove it, i think these two things are interlinked. somebody out there, if you know the solution to this problem i will be very grateful.
Your phone think there is an accesory connected to it, try cleaning any debris from the pins and remove the battery to reset the phone.

On FaceTime incoming call there is no ringtone
When an incoming FaceTime call comes there is ringtone. How to set this right.
Found further information for this issue:
There is a simple way you can change the ringtone for incoming facetime call, in order to change it you will need to go to Settings >> Notifications and then tap on FaceTime and under facetime notifications settings you will see the option to change the ringtone for facetime and select a new different ringtone.

My FaceTime incoming calls not ringing
Face time ringer not working it did a few days ago
hi
thanks.
but it seems more difficult. as per below review of handoff in yosemite included the following info about doing just that:
The FaceTime app will let you choose a ringtone for phone calls, but only from the stock collection of iOS sounds. (I even added ringtones to iTunes on my Mac, but it didn’t see them, and even if you find where the ringtone files are stored you can’t add new ones.) Ringtone selections were played on my MacBook’s internal speaker, even though the rest of the Mac was playing through an external audio device.

How do I get FaceTime for Mac to stop ringing after answering an incoming call on my iPhone?
I have iPhone Cellular Calls enabled for iPhone and FaceTime and am able to make and receive calls splendidly with FaceTime. However, when I answer an incoming call on my iPhone, FaceTime will not stop ringing. This is a significant, loud, annoying issue for me, my caller, and everyone in my house. It rings for eternity, long after the call has ended, until the call notification on my Mac is either accepted or declined. FaceTime needs to know when the call is answered on another device and stop ringing. Is there any solution for this?
This works for me:
To turn off Phone Calling on your iPad or iPod Touch, go to FaceTime under Settings and switch off iPhone Cellular Calls. On your Mac, open the FaceTime app, then go to Preferences under FaceTime, and tap Settings. From there, switch off the iPhone Cellular Calls option.
Found it here:http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/131449-why-s-my-mac-taking-my-iphone-calls-how-t o-turn-off-apple-continuity
I realise it doesn't quite solve the issue of FaceTime "knowing" whether the call has already been answered on another device, which I agree is a flaw. But in my case, I don't want to receive regular phone calls on my Mac at any time. Only the very rare FaceTime call. So turning off cellular calls is a solution of sorts. -
So my I phone 4s volume has decided to pack allowing only my phone to make sounds when I have an incoming call, I can also here fine using facetime and receiving calls. YouTube, soundcloud, any of I players will no longer play sound. I've restored the phone using iTunes on my laptop and checked all the volumes are turned up and the button at the left hand Side of the phone is in the correct position.
Try inserting and re-inserting your headphones 7 or 8 times. Also try cleaning out the headphone jack in case of debris that might be interfering with the connection/disconnection.

can anyone help with facetime? im getting missed calls but it doesnt actually come up with an incoming call.....the person im trying to contact just gets missed calls also?
I've noticed that once you miss a call on FaceTime on a desktop Mac, it won't work properly again until you restart the machine.
I sent in Feedback so we'll see how that goes. -

Cannot get ringtones to work on incoming calls
I cannot get ringtons on incoming calls to work on my new IPhone.
Have I overlooked a mute button, because I have no sound except when I try different ringtones?I have tried that, but still no sound except when I choose tone. When I test by calling nothing.
I only bought phone a few days ago, and wondering if I have defective phone. Everything works except sound effects such as ringtones and keyboard sound. -
when I accept a incoming call face time says connecting but it cannot connect. Pls help me.
A slow Internet connection in between both parties is a typical reason for the connection taking "forever".

Hi,
I have a macbook pro and when making outgoing calls on facetime I get to connecting but it never does connect, however I can receive incoming calls. Any suggestions please?Hey there kakitiga,
It sounds like you are trying to make a call with FaceTime, it never finishes connecting to the person you are trying to reach. I want to recommend the troubleshooting steps from this article named:
FaceTime for Mac: Troubleshooting FaceTime
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4185
If you encounter issues making or receiving FaceTime calls, try the following:
Verify that FaceTime is enabled in FaceTime > Preferences. If the issue persists, or if you see the message "Waiting for Activation", try toggling FaceTime off and then on.
Verify that the Date, Time, and Time Zone are set correctly:
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences > Date & Time > Date & Time.
Enable "Set Automatically".
Click the Time Zone tab and confirm the closest city is correct.
Verify that both parties are connected to an active broadband Internet connection.
See Mac OS X: Troubleshooting a cable modem, DSL, or LAN Internet connection.
Consult Using FaceTime behind a firewall for necessary ports to open in firewalls, security software and routers.
If you encounter issues using a Wi-Fi network, use standard Wi-Fi network troubleshooting to resolve interference and other issues.
Verify the phone number or email address being used is the correct one activated for FaceTime. You can verify that you are using a valid Apple ID at appleid.apple.com. You can also create an Apple ID or reset your password from this website.
Verify that both parties have installed the latest software updates for their Mac and/or device. See:
Mac OS X: Updating your software
iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I have started getting spammed on multiple Apple products (iPhone and iPad) with FaceTime calls since the recent IOS update. Is there any feature or setting I can use locally to restrict incoming calls to a FaceTime account without going to the carrier?
After calling AT&T tech support one more time, and explaining to them that the glitch was on their network, they admitted that the problem was at their tower...
I continued to use the phone on EDGE mode for two more days until the problem was fixed.
I even got a call back from a tech support guy asking me if my phone was working properly....
I wish they would have admitted to the problem before I sat at the apple store for 2 hours.
