if u been frustrated trying to make a video call with facetime there is the solution : back up on itunes and save your pics to your computer in a folder
restore your device go to setting > general >> reset >> erease all content and settings . once your device its deletes as new . setup entering location , lenguage etc etc . and you will need to get a free icloud account . when u have it and enter it to your iphone4 ios 6 , and use your new icloud account with icloud and facetime . now try to make a facetime call and it need to works . then connect to itunes and select "as new iphone" and try to get the apps and you will get em and your friends contacts list , i reccomend you write your buddy list on a piece paper just in case ..

Check to see how each of you are receiving your Facetime calls, phone number versus Apple ID, and then check to see what way you are calling them. If one is receiving by phone number, make sure you are calling that phone number rather than the Apple ID. Other than that, I don't see a real reason the two shouldn't connect. I just did a Facetime with my son tonight. We are both on iOS 6, he has an iPhone 4, I have a 4S. Sorry I cannot duplicate an iPhone 5 issue here.

If you removed the device from your iCloud account rather than using the "Stop Lost Mode" option, then you will most certainly need to restore the iPhone, and that will require a computer running iTunes.

You will be able to track the phone as long as it is on and connected to a network (cel or Wifi). If you can't eventually recover the phone, you should erase it remotely via Find my iPhone. Be aware that once you erase it, you will not be able to track it.
When you locked the phone, what you did was put a 4 digit passcode. That is not foolproof but safe for a time.
Has the phone moved/changed locations recently? If not, it ***could*** be that it is lost and not stolen. A smart thief would have probably erased the phone by now.

If you had Find My iPhone enabled, you can go to www.icloud.com and see if you can locate the phone, put it in lost mode or erase it as appropriate. If you never enabled Find My iPhone, you will need to look for the phone yourself.

I posted a similiar topic, but lost my thread for it.
I have numerous Iphone 4S's at my work and a few of them were upgraded to IO6. I work in IT so i thought i'd give it a test and couple of staff also upgraded to IOS6.
I have a Netgear WG102
Firmware: 5.03 is the latest
WEP Security
Network Authentication: OPEN
Broadcast SSID: Yes
Data Encryption 64bits WEP
Wireless Client Security Separation Disabled
Operating Mode: Auto - 8020.11g/802.11b

Country Australai
IP Address, Subnet, gateway and DNS addreses applied acdordingly
The FEW who have upgraded to IOS 6 are unable to connect to my WAP including myself.
I have tried Backup/Restore Iphone 4s
RESET Network Settings
Selected FORGET this network and attempted to reconnect, still doesnt accept the key
Tried to Manually select the WAP and manually apply the config details as opposed to automatically accepting details when it accepts the key
I have recreated the same ABOVE config profile on the WAP device, just a different key and no success.
i have also taken the Iphone4s of mine to the Australian, CBD, George St Apple store where they wiped the phone. We got the phone back to factory, connected it to "THEIR" WiFi. The answer i got from the Manager at the time was "If it works here, there's no fault with the phone"
I still have the majority of my staff using IOS5 which im not permitting them up upgrade for the above reason
I was suspecting FIRMWARE versions being different upon upgrading to IOS6
I found Modem Firmware: 04.12.02 or higher seemed to have no problems connecting to my WAP, if it was lower then the phones werent connectning.
Im reading on other posts people are suspecting DNS, Wireless Config setup.
I have created a SSID with NONE security to connect and still says Unable to Join the network

Added MAC Address of my Iphone to be TRUSTED
I enabled Super-G Mode for proprietary support of 820.11g
I can confirm the two Iphone 4S's i have problems with at the moment were "Problem FREE"
At this point the only thing i havent done it downgraded Firmware of the device

I was using my phone properly and made calls until one point of the evening when I could not anymore. Same goes for the persons who were trying to contact me... It is like I have my phone switched off. How can I fix it? Is it from the carrier provider or the iPhone itself? If anyone knows anything of it, please share info.

Lost connection to internet through airport

My Mac at home is configured to a timecapsule and connected through airport wifi. The Time capsule is connected via cable to modem and out via cable to Internet. Up until today everything is fine. started up and i have lost connection to the internet.
Network Preferences is showing that Airport has a self asssigned IP address and cannot connect to internet. The time capsule lights are showing green, as do the Modem, neither are reporting problems.
I have tried all of the "first Aid configurations" i.e. switch off/on etc, also tried a couple of ideas from forums, nothing works. I can connect the Mac directly to the modem via cable and access the internet.
As an aside, My iphone has also lost connectivity through home wifi.
It would appear from other forums that this is a growing problem, however not much in the way of resolution. Any Ideas????

Highlight Airport
Click the Assist Me button
In the pop up window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer.

IPhone 3GS won't connect to router?

I used to be able to use wifi with no problems at my grandparents' house, but not anymore. A few months ago, something must have gone wrong, because all of the sudden, my iPhone started saying "Cannot connect to *SSID here*". I tried to reset the router, restore my phone, reset network settings, do manual settings, change the security settings, but nothing works. The sad thing is, all other devices that try to connect to the network work, it is only this iPhone.
This is making me so frustrated, because my iPhone connects to any other router, just not the one I use at my grandparents' house! It is annoying because I'm almost out of data for the month on my plan, and I need the wifi. The router is a linksys WRT160N, if you need to know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Having done a lot of reading today and having found a very good online tablet magazine (will post link tomorrow) there seems to be a few tech bods onto the problem.
The magazine I was reading identified wifi problems within hours of the ios 6 release and have been analysing since then with almost daily updates - the story seems to be:
The apple authenthication transmission is normal, it should slip through event prior to a full handshake with the host network being completed - however if not authenthicated then apple will not permit the device to connect (kills the connection) this is designed to protect apple from counterfeiting. So thats problem 1 if you dont receive a token from apple.
Problem 2 is that ios 6 only supports ipv6 (the new ip protocol) whereas outside silicon valley a large proportion of routers modems etc are still ipv4 protocol.
So youre locked into ipv6 in a world where ipv4 devices are everywhere and apple have not allowed for the ability to handle both protocols. This is like GM telling you your car requires an upgrade, everything will improve etc and as part of the upgrade fits a fuel cell motor and stays silent when their upgraded vehicles are simply parked up because they cannot get fuel.
A very basic expectation would have been dual protocol handling - we know the HW supports ipv4 as all wad fine on ios5.
So its going to be hit and miss with networks - more hit than miss in techy areas like silicon valley, but more miss in places like where I am - a small town in rural Switzerland.
Only apple can fix this with a patch to enable ipv4 protocol handling.
There you go. you just need to buy a new router, I'm sure Apple has one for sale, cause it's not there fault for sure.

you have a ps cs4 license for mac and you have some way of finding your serial number.

This sounds like an Apple ID problem. Do each of you have your own Apple IDs? Are they each properly set on each phone? You might try logging out of Facetime and iMessage, then logging back in. This often fixes connectivity issues.
