Facetime ipod touch and macbook pro

I am able to call my daughter's ipod touch using my mac book pro and the beta version of facetime, but whenever I try and use the ipod touch to call me it says that I am not available.
I have facetime running on the mac
Any one else have this problem or any solutions?

This is working for me.
Check the firewall settings on your Mac. The FaceTime application must be able to receive incoming connections for it to accept a call.
(A) Go to Apple Menu->System Preferences->Security->Firewall->Advanced
You may need to hit the lock and enter your password to get access to the Advanced option.
(B) Make sure that "block all incoming connections" is NOT ticked.
(C) In the application list, make sure FaceTime has "Allow incoming connections"
If this does not work, you may have a general network settings issue and incoming calls are not coming to your Mac. This is especially possible in a corporate network. Test with all firewalls disabled or on a different network.

when i try to place a call to someone who has FaceTime on an iPod Touch, she says she doesn't receive any calls and i get eventually get a "FaceTime failed" after a few rings. if the other party calls me (i'm using MacBook Pro with OSX Lion 10.7.1) and i answer, at first, it will say "Connecting..." then it will then show a "FaceTime failed". We both powered off our devices to no avail. Any ideas?

Both Ipod Touch and Macbook Pro Stolen, how do I get the photos in my photostream back at least?

My house was burglarized yesterday and I lost my Macbook Pro and my 3rd gen iPod touch with many photos and videos on it. I did have the photostream turned on but the computer that it was linked to was stolen. I want to get these photos back if possible but since iCloud doesn't seem to act like an actual cloud service I can't seem to find a way to do that.
Can I set it up on another computer and get the last 100 photos I took without the IOS device?

Photo stream still stores you photos from the last 30 days (up to a max of 1,000), so all you need to do is connect to icloud with some device/computer, turn on photo stream and voila.

Ipod Touch and Macbook Pro Bluetooth problems (ISO4 related)

Before the update I wasn't having any problems, but now when I try to connect with bluetooth I can pair, but it won't connect. It says I don't "have the necessary services" for bluetooth. Any ideas?

I bought a Macbook Pro and ipod touch 3 weeks ago. I am shocked and disappointed to learn that i'm not able to connect these devices via bluetooth. Searching through forums and discussion pages I see that this is by design. I fail to understand why.
On more occasions than I care to comment I have defended Apple products against sceptical attacks that dismiss the company's innovation as pure hype and suggest the proliferation of its 'locked' and 'exclusive' features signal the rise of the 'new dark side'. I have been left with little argument to continue this defence.
I regret that I will seriously reconsider my next purchase of an Apple product.

i upgraded my macbook pro with the new Mac OS Lion and downloaded the IOS 5 with the icloud, then did the same with my ipod touch. So when I purchased a song from itunes using my ipod touch, how come it didn't appear in my laptop?

Did you restore the iPod using this iTunes library/computer?
Make sure that yo have the right boxes checked to sync the media

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

How come my imsg is not syncing properly between iPod touch and Macbook pro?

My imsgs are recieved on my macbook and they used to be simultaneously sent to my ipod too. But now they don't show up as imsg notifications on my ipod, only macbook. When I click in the conversation on my ipod I see the new messages, but I only get a notification on my macbook. How do I fix this so that a notification pops up on both devices?

Sign out of iMessage on both devices, then sign back in.

WRT400N connection issues with iPod Touch and MacBook

I'm a newbie, so please bear with me.
I recently upgraded to the WRT400N from a Linksys BEFW11S4.
Since the change, the connection to iPod Touches and MacBooks at the house have been shaky at best. The connection frequently drops out completely on the iPod Touch even if it's right next to the router.
I've tried resetting the router, changing settings on the iTouch and MacBooks, but the problem persists. I don't want to mess with the router settings as I'm not experienced in that area.
Can anyone please help me?

You can try the below mentioned settings.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop).In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
On the set-up tab change the MTU Size to 1365 and click Save Settings...
Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304 Change the RTS Threshold to 2307 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...
This should fix the issue for you.

When syncing Contacts, does IPod Touch or MacBook Pro take priority?

- I want to sync my Contacts between my IPod Touch and my MacBook Pro. -
- A message says that my MacBook Pro contacts will be changed 5% if I proceed. -
- I want my MacBook Pro Contacts to override my IPod Touch Contacts, not the other way around. -
- Any advice on how to accomplish this? -

With the iPod connected to the computer go to the Info pane under the iPod (device). At the bottom there is an Advance section. That section includes the option (check boxes) to replace specific information on the iPod with that on the computer. Is that want you want?

2nd Gen iPod Touch, 2008 MacBook Pro OSX Ver. 10.5.8 - Any Point in iCloud?

I have a 2nd Gen iPod Touch, and a 2008 MacBook Pro OSX Ver. 10.5.8
I've used .Mac/MobileMe since 2008 and I have all of my documents on iDisk. If I upgrade to iCloud, what is going to happen? I know all of my stuff will be in the cloud, but will I be able to access it in any way with this equipment?
In short, is there any point in me upgrading to iCloud?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You need Lion to run iCloud, if your MacBook can't be upgraded to Lion, it can't run iCloud.
ICloud does not replace iDisk, which you could continue to use until it is retired in June 2012 (with or without upgrading to iCloud)

- You can only sync an iPod to one iTunes library/computer. You can however, manually manage music and videos among different libraries.
Go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.

If all the synced media like music is in the iTunes library of the second computer it is very easy.

Facetime - iPod Touch and Mac can be done. Why not on iphone?

Here in Brazil we are facing the same problem like other countries. Facetime is not working on iPhone. (Waiting for Activation..)
I was wondering if Apple will enable an option to active iphone`s facetime through Apple ID to solve theses problems. It can be done on Ipod touch and Mac, why not on Iphones?

Reboot computer. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both home and power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Yes, but you have to make some adjustments first.
1. Make sure you are running Itunes 10.5

Will not Sync Apps from iPod Touch to MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro 17" running the latest OS and latest iPod Touch. When I tried to backup the iPod Apps to the MacBook I get the following errors. I have the de-authorized and reset the "iTunes/Store/Authorize This Computer" several times as suggested in several posts but still all I get is the following:
*Some of the purchased items on the iPod "XXXX", including Y! Messenger", could not be transferred to your iTunes library because you are not authorized for them on this computer.*
and
*To authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store, choose Store > Authorize This Computer.
This computer is already authorized. Including this one, you have authorized one computer out of your available 5.*
I'm stuck, I have done all this(de-authorized and authorized) several times, I can't upgrade my iPod OS, I can't save my iPod Apps using Sync to my MacBook and what I have found so far on posts leave this same result.
Suggestions?

Could the items not transferring have been purchased under a difference iTunes account and thus you are not authorizing the the computer with the correct iTunes account?
