Facetime is not working

Why FaceTime is not working? it accepts my apple ID but is says that the server encountered an error processing registration.

First, check the status of iMessage on this page:
Apple - Support - System Status
If iMessage is down, wait tor it to come back up. There may be a localized outage, even if the status indicator is green.
Otherwise, back up all data.
Take the steps suggested in this support article:
FaceTime, Game Center, Messages: "There was an error processing registration" when signing in
There are five steps in that article. Please take all of them. If you don't understand some of the steps or can't carry them out, ask for guidance.
After completing those steps, if you still get the error, try resetting the NVRAM.

Thanks I now use Skype but learnt a valuable lesson will buy my next ipad from USA or Canada where nothing is blocked.
However my money got wasted cause I wanted the luxury of a big screen for FaceTime communication

I'm guessing it's a compatibility problem similar to that that T-Mobile in the US has. I'm not familiar with chat-r wireless, but I'm guessing it's not a supported carrier for the iPhone. If they can't tell you how to fix it, I'm guessing it's just plain not going to work.

After 4 calls to apple and 8 and a half hours on the phone. The apple people does not how to solve the problem. The last thing they told me is that they will send the problem to their engineers and I will hear from them. unfortunately they have not contact me.
During the phone calls I tried putting the date and time in automatic, changing the username and password, I even tried using somebody elses username and password. Please help, facetime is my tool to telecomute, and it is hurting my job.

ACTIVATING FACETIME AND IMESSAGES
Activating Facetime and Imessages on your phone requires the ability to send SMS messages and depending upon where you are that might be an international SMS. Check with your carrier to see if your plan supports sending of international SMS messages. If you are having trouble activating Facetime or Imessages turn them both off on your device and reset the device (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost)). Wait for the device to restart and wait a minute and turn Facetime and imessage back on and wait for activation. If that does not fix things read the following articles:

FaceTime is not working since the last time I've disconnected it...

Since the last time I've disconnected it, Facetime is not working. At first, I thought it was working with no problems. Then, I realize that I could not make or receive calls, and then I disconnected. Now, I can't connect it. There's a message saying to me try later, but this message has been appearing since last month. I'm sure that this problem is not with my internet conection, because I've tried another conections, and FaceTime still not working, and it is not with my ID Apple either because I could connect it normally in iPod' Facetime and I've tried other account in Mac' FaceTime. What should I do?

SAME as I stated 3 weeks ago I've update to 6.1 IOS onto Iphone 4s it wiped out Wifi & Bluetooth grey out issue
and did all the steps didn't help ,so had to go to Apple store & see if they could do anything ,they stated that if it work for them get a new 1 free ,but if can't be done PAY for REPLACEMENT .It turns out warranty lapsed,said ok
which I paid .Now this update to 6.1.1 shows up on my update hate to proceed the update . Which will be ROUND 2 all over again .

Facetime only works via WiFi. Are you trying to set up Facetime with a T-Mobile account?

I have reinstalled mountain Lion again . This time, Facetime works when somebody calls me, and I can do calls from my Mac again. But the problem was still that I was not able to call my iPad, what I was able to do with Lion (I had one Apple-ID and two call adresses). The solution was this time to generate a second Apple-ID from the Facetime in my Mac (this doesn't affect your main Apple-ID, it's only used for Facetime). Now, it works! ;-)

I understand all of this Meg; that is why I bought an Iphone; but never expected my phone not even give a at least a 24 or even 12 hours....I work 12 hour shifts and also would expect to have to charge each night but not twice a day or more. I am not always somewhere I can charge my phone.

Why Facetime is not working in United Arab Emirates?? Even the icon for it and its setting in the phone’s setting list are not exist.. Could it be that this service is locked by our local mobile carrier or from Apple side?

The UAE IOS devices are identified by their Serial number which has the Suffix AE. the telecoms regulator in UAE has agreed with Apple not to put facetime on UAE devices so people dont cut out the UAE telcoms providers that have not recovered their infratructure invetsments on copper and fibreoptic cabling/exchanges etc.
You cannot change this as Apple always refrences your serial number of your device everytime it connects to itunes or the app store. You will need a non UAE IOS device to have facetime. how about getting Skype instaed its more widely used and in my opinion better
