That's because facetime has been banned from Apple device in the UAE per the government.
There is no way for you to use or get facetime for a device in UAE.

Where did you purchase the iPad from?
If FaceTime is not available in Settings: Note that FaceTime may not be available on devices purchased or used in certain countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

  • Facetime Missing Security Update

So me and most of my friends have iPhone 4's. we have been placing facetime calls all the time. i got curious about facetime for mac and decided to try it out. Everytime I try to install it, it says missing Security Update 2010-005. I've downloaded this and tried to install it over and over. It goes thru installation and restarts like it should. Tried to install facetime again after and it still says that its missing the security patch. Idk what to do to fix it. i've even installed other updates, 2010-006 and 2010-007 but with no prevail. Any suggestions?!

I have OSX version 10.5.8, which is below the minimum required for the facetime software.
I did 'software update' yet it never shows any software update available.
Do i have to manually do the software update for my mac? or should it be automatic. If it should be automatic what have i done wrong? All the settings i can see say that it is automatic. And besides - shouldnt the update for 10.6.5 be showing (or anything more advanced than 10.5.8) in the software update section?!

  • Facetime missing in ipod 5g

hi, i bought ipod 5g from saudi arabia there the ft was not missing but in pakistan ft was missing and automaticly date time also not working plz help

    Isit hidden by Restrictions? Settings>General>Restrictions?
If you go to Settings, is there a line item for FaveTime? If so then use the Search feature to find FaceTime.
Are you sure you had it before? iPod's officially sold in Sadia Arabia do not FaceTime since it is prohibited by the Government. There is not way to make it appear. It is locked to the an identifier on the iPod

  • Facetime missing on setting

facetime app icon is missing on my iphone 5 & facetime is missing from setting how to get a facetime pleas give a solution

In what country did you purchase the phone? If you purchased it in the UAE or several other countries in that region, it may have been removed by Apple in accordance with local regulations. If so, there is no way to get FaceTime on that phone.
If it's not from a country where FT is prohibited, it may simply have been disabled on the phone. Have you checked Settings>General>Restrictions?

  • FaceTime Missed Call Badge Remains After Recents Checked on iPhone

I have FaceTime set up on my iMac (Mavericks 10.9.4) and iPhone 5 (iOS 7.1.2). When I miss a FaceTime call, the missed call badge appears on both FaceTime icons (iMac app and iPhone app) as it's supposed to. When I open the iPhone app to check my recent/missed calls, the missed call badge goes away. However, it remains on the iMac FaceTime app icon until I also open that app to clear the icon. Aren't the badges (like everything else) supposed to sync? If so, does anyone know what may be causing the FaceTime app on my iMac to fail to recognize when I've already reviewed missed calls on my iPhone and accordingly remove the missed call badge?
    Thank you in advance.

Okay... For anyone still having this problem, I just finished talking to AppleCare. I was really curious what I might be missing because I had FaceTime turned OFF and I was signed out, and I'd also turned off the handshake feature (I don't want calls going to my Mac). The rep had never heard of this before and I let her know that a bunch of people had posted in the Apple Community and several mentioned they had contacted Apple. After a bit of a wait, she said her supervisor wanted to speak to me.
He double-checked some of the settings I'd already made...then asked me to check my iPhone Settings-FaceTime. While FaceTime was turned ON for the iPhone (which was fine) "iPhone Cellular Calls" needed to be turned OFF. That setting allows all devices signed into your iCloud account to make and receive calls when they are nearby and on WiFi.
I've received a few calls already and so far, so good!
    Hope this helps!

  • HT1937 Facetime missing in iPhone 5s

    Hi
I am missing my Facetime since some time.
I have checked many discussions here and tried to sort it out but no success.
Restrictions are off completely. And I cannot allocate Facetime in my Settings or through Search Options.
I was in UAE recently and I know they ban Facetime. Now there is other SIM and local carrier has no restrictions.
Any ideas how to get it back?

    Thanks a lot.
Yes. AE is there. Strange as this iPhone was purchased in Bahrain same as my previous iPhone 5 that perfectly supported the feature.
I am very disappointed that nobody informed me that I'm getting AE model.
Anyway, thanks again for the supper. at least I won't waste more time trying to get it back.

  • Facetime missing..

i just got a new ipod touch 4th gen and i wanted to facetime with my freinds but my touch does not have the facetime app
can someone please help me with this problem as i have treind everything such as updating and restoring the touch with no results

You can't delete a native app from the iPod. If it is not restricted in Settings>General>Restrictions then either it either not readily visible and you should be able to find it using the Spotlight search feature on the iPod (left-most home screen). If still can't find it then try restoring from backup and if needed restring to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Facetime missing from my iPhone 5.

I had Facetime on my iPhone 5 until my yesterday. I have no restrictions on my iPhone. I restarted my iPhone. Nothing. A possible culprit for my MIA Facetime is my sync with iTunes, which I always do daily. Any suggestions?

FaceTime is not a separate app on the iPhone, if it's not hidden via Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime being 'off' then you should be able to do FaceTime calls either by selecting the person that you want to call in the Contacts app and scrolling to the bottom of their details and tapping the FaceTime button, or you can do it via the Contacts tab in the Phone app.
If FaceTime doesn't appear in Restrictions then where was the phone bought ? FaceTime is not available on phones bought in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and possibly a few other countries.

  • On ipad2 my FaceTime missed calls don't show. Why?

My wife has a Mac book air, If I miss her call, it nevers shows in my ipad2 log. But it does show on my iPhone 4s.

Same here missing call logs on iPhone 6 Plus.  My call logs are not showing up under all or missed.  All that is displayed is -1.
Have re synced iPhone with iTunes, have also reset all settings and still its doing the same.

  • FaceTime missing from iphone5 setting

Please note that I have both iPhone 4 and iPhone 5. Using them in Lebanon, Beirut. I noticed that the FaceTime on iPhone 5 has disappeared from under setting. I called my service provider and they said they have no restriction on FaceTime. They suggested that there might be some programming problem, but I checked with another person having the iPhone 5 and found the same problem.
I tried so many fixes but all failed as it is not showing under settings.

    Read this document: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Particularly this footnote for "Middle East":
FaceTime may be unavailable if your device originates from this region and becomes unlocked or is used in another country.
If you purchased the phone in a Middle East country where it is not banned, it may be removed if you attempt to use it with a SIM from a different country. This is done to pacify the governments in the Middle East and prevent the feature from being used in a country where it is banned by law.
Since the iPhone is not legitimately available at all in Lebanon, there is nothing much you can do.

  • FaceTime missing on T-Mobile iPhone 5?

Bought an iPhone 5 from T-Mobile (in Illinois, not Dubai) and it does not have the FaceTime app on it. It has FT in the Settings where I set up the email addresses, etc., but it does not have the app itself. How can I fix this?

Read http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4319 that explains it all

  • HT204380 is there a button on my iphone to enable facetime for use, please help

hi, im having problem using facetime on my ipone 4 can someone please help me... thanks

Where did you buy the phone?
HAve you gone to settings/general/restrictions is facetime on there?
    FACETIME MISSING
The governments in some middle eastern countries have banned Facetime and it is disabled on iphones purchased in those countries.  The countries include KAS, UAE and others.  There is no way to get Facetime on such phones (for example it cannot be downloaded and installed) and taking the phone to another country does not cause Facetime to reappear on such phones. In  support.apple.com/kb/ts3367  it says “Note: FaceTime may not be available, or may become unavailable, on devices purchased or used in certain countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Check your device's region of purchase for more information.”

  • I had facetime but now it is gone

    hi
ihave used facetime in the past on my iphone4. but when i went to use it today i was unable to. i had a look in settings>phone and there isnt even a option there to enable facetime. anyone have any ideas?

FaceTime missing on your iPhone 4? Here’s how to fix it.
I discovered today that FaceTime didn’t work on my iPhone 4: people couldn’t start FaceTime calls with me and I didn’t have any of the FaceTime buttons present. Turns out that this problem is caused when restoring from an iPhone 3G running iOS 4 — it seems the FaceTime on/off setting is imported from the iPhone 3G (which has it turned off as it doesn’t support FaceTime). Going into Settings > Phone and then flipping FaceTime on solved it for me.
Other people seem to have had to jump through a couple of extra hoops to get this to work, if flipping the switch didn’t get you going, take a look at this post over at the Rusty Brick blog.
Update 2010-08-22: Still having trouble? Did you jailbreak your iPhone 4? There’s something else that might stop this working too.
