FaceTime no longer works on my MacBook Pro but still works on my I-Phone
FaceTime used to work fine on both my MacBook Pro and my I-Phone. Lately, it will not work at all on my Ma
cBook, but works fine on my I-Phone. What has to be done to get it working on my MacBook?
The Rh column in FaceTime asks if I want calls to the cell phone or to the e-mail address. I remove the check mark against the cell Number and "go to next"
It then asks for Apple ID and sign in.
The FaceTime on the computer starts by saying that it is signing in and then and then quickly reverts to the first screen as above---asking about the cell or e-mail address---and the process starts all over again.
I never get to proceed past this step.
I am begining to wonder if an upgrade was added and requires some other step.
, or removal of the upgrade.

21 MB Page-outsTry using another video player such as VLC and see if you can get better results. There are a load of different things that can bog down your computer when watching video and, as far as I'm concerned, QT is not the best app around for watching video.

Love the new macbook pro but still no BluRay?
I love the look of the new series of macbook pro's all the additional features yet still no BluRay which is very disappointing, with that feature added this would of been the ultimate series, very disappointed Apple

I'm personally more disappointed the optical drive is still present. I wish Apple had removed it and made better use of the space giving the users more choices with external drives. Then all Apple would need to do is update DVD player to play Blu-rays. Or Apple could sell the Blu-ray player on the App Store. Apple is making the same mistake Sony made with the PSP and UMD. People that already have made an investment in Blu-ray movies don't want to repurchase them again! -
SMS messages are received on MacBook Pro, but not phone, help.

Theres almost a trick to it for first time users, goto SETTINGS...General......Cellular (if Verizon) ....Personal Hotspot, turn it on.....turn on wifi on your Mac, select your Iphone. Enter password.
If you take too long doing it, youll need turn turn off and on real quick the "personal hotspot" slider on the Phone.......then go quick again thur the Mac. -

For how much longer can a 2008 MacBook Pro run? I'm still on Snow Leopard but just have updated HDD and RAM. Now the graphic card went down and the repair costs half of a new computer. What to do? If I can get three more years out of it I'd go for it, but it's a gamble. Can you guess the risks?
DONT PAY FOR A REPAIR! its not worth it anymore, as most companies dont replace the gpu because the part isnt made any more. They don't repair it and it isnt permanent, but your still paying!! its crazy! fortunately there is a way to do the exact thing that they do without dissassembling your computer! just follow these steps:
1. Plug in your macbook pro (make sure that its off)
2. Turn on the computer, and hwen it chimes, close the lid and turn it updside down.
3. Wrap the macbook in a heavy quilt.
4. Let the computer sit for about an hour.
5. Take it out of the quilt, unplug it and let it cool for 20 minutes.
6. Turn on the computer.
I can say that this works as I had the same problem, and after this method, the computer is up and running, I'm typing this on it now! -

Hi, I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro but cant get the mirroring function to work with Apple TV. I've got the most recent Software 10.7.5 but cant see the mirroring icon or turn this on. I'm able to mirror from my Ipad but not my Mac, any thoughts?

AirPlay Mirroring is supported on your Mac, but it needs OS X Mountain Lion (10.8). See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404
You have two possibilities:
1. Make a backup, open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion to upgrade to this OS X. Then, you will find the AirPlay Mirroring icon at the top right of the display, on the menu bar, or on System Preferences > Displays.
2. Keep OS X Lion and use AirParrot > http://www.airparrot.com
Both options work properly, but I recommend AirPlay Mirroring as it doesn't need a third-party program -
I have FaceTime on my Macbook Pro but want to add it to my Mac Pro v. 10.6.8. Since I've previously purchased it in the app store, it won't allow me to purchase it again. Can I use the same app for both of my computers? If so, how do I access the app to download it?
If you upgrade to Lion it comes bundeled with it!
To get it on your Mac Pro just copy the aplication from the aplication folder on your MacBook. You can do this via a thumb drive or over a local network connection. -
I have a ton of documents and databases in AppleWorks v 6.0 that I can no longer open on my MacBook Pro. Is there any way to recover this info? Some documents can be opened and resaved with textedit, but not my database with all important addresses.
I tried Peggy's List > Select All > Copy > Paste into an AW spreadsheet suggestion.
In my case, pasting into the spreadsheet lost all text formatting (mostly text set to bold). The results of formulas were pasted, and checkboxes were pasted as "on" or "off". The DB did not contain any pop-up menus or radio buttons, but I expect they would transfer as a number showing the list position of the chosen item.
Pasting the copied List view data into a Numbers table gave a result similar to that with AppleWorks. I selected B2 as the target cell (for top left cell of the pasted data) to avoid any effects of posting into a header row or column. Bold and regular text formatting looked the same as it had in AW's List view.
Based on that, I'd slip the 'paste into an AppleWorks Spreadsheet step, and paste directly into a Numbers Table.

IPhone 4s no longer connects to wifi, wifi is greyed, FaceTime no longer works
I have been having issues ever since the iOS 5.1.1 update and I thought with the iOS 6, all these bugs would be fixed. Unfortunately they have not. My iphone's wifi has not worked for several months now. I believe it is the reason my FaceTime no longer works. Weird thing is, is that I can still receive FaceTime calls, but cannot make them myself. The wifi section in settings is greyed and I cannot even switch it back on. It's permanently in the off position. What is going on with my phone . Dissapointed in my Apple product.
PS- We have an Apple wireless home router, top of line, and we have everything Apple in our house specifically to deal with disconnect issues. My iPad works great at home, same with Apple tv. I know it's my phone.See this: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559
If it doesn't help you likely have a hardware failure. As your phone is still in warranty take it to an Apple store. Make an appointment first.
