Facetime not ringing! Please help!

Hey, so I have an iPhone 5, an iPod 5 , and an iPad mini. On my iPad and iPod, facetime works perfectly, aside from the occasional lag, which is to be expected. I recently switched from my droid phone to an iPhone 5. I set up facetime using the same apple ID as my other two devices. I currently have facetime over cellular turned to "on", and I can only be reached by my cell phone number. The other day I noticed that I had a missed facetime call notification, but I didn't remember actually getting the call. So later, I facetimed my phone from my iPod, using my email, to my phone number, and on my iPod it said "Sam (me) is not available for facetime". Then my phone vibrated and it popped up "missed facetime call from Sam". Why does this happen and what can I do to fix it?

This error message could result from an incorrect setting for date and time, or an operating system which does not have the latest updates installed. It's a good idea to have your location setting on automatic. Turn on the wi fi in your mac for a minute or so, to allow it to automatically search for your present location. Do this even though you have the correct time Date settings displayed.

I live in South Africa, and I had the same problem with my iPhone 4.
After weeks of frustration and swearing, I was in the process of restoring my phone to a previous iOS. To do that you need to turn the "Find my iPhone" option off, since i turned it off, my problem was solved. No need to repair anything or revert back to old iOS.

If you are running Lion or Mountain Lion, the drivers are downloaded from within Bootcamp Assistant. If you are running Snow Leopard the drivers are on your Snow Leopard install disk.

iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server

Try this:
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

That is almost always because the phone was hacked to illegally unlock it. Contact the carrier it's locked to and ask about having it legitimately unlocked. If they will not do so, you will not be able to activate that phone.

I would imagine your iPhone was hacked to make it work on your local carrier.
Updating the iOs to 5.xx will lock it back to the original carrier .The carrier holding the lock are the only
entity able to authorise the unlock .You will have to contact them and see if they unlock and the terms the apply
