FaceTime not working iOS 6.1.3 iPod 4

I have iOS 6.1.3 and any time I use FaceTime it says connecting then drops, does anyone have any advice on how to fix that or change something to make it work

You are welcome. Please read the quote from the posted Apple article below.
If you started to have issues making or receiving FaceTime calls after April 16, 2014, you or your friend may have an expired device certificate. Updating both devices will resolve this issue.

It sounds as if you may have an issue with your iPad not being activated for iMessages or FaceTime. You can correct this by following the steps in this article -

hi i have a ipod touch 4 generation 64gb and my camera is blocked and dose not work i cant update the ipod either

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • TS4268 Iphone 4 (Verizon) version 6.1.3 - FaceTime not working

Hi, I have an issue with facetime not working on my iphone 4.  It worked fine until a few weeks ago.  I have done a "soft restart" (power & home button) on the iphone. I have signed out of facetime and imesage, and then signed back in. I have checked the settings, and everything looks like it's right.  The phone number has a checkmark next to it, but is greyed out under "You can be reached by FaceTime at:", but I read that it's normal. The imessage works fine.  I do have an ipad air on the same apple ID, could that be it? but it was fine before.  I just got the iphone 4 replaced at the Apple store via warranty, because the front facing camera was acting up.  What else can I check? What else can be wrong? I do not want to update to the IOS 7.1, because the Iphone 4 will lag in IOS 7.1 update.

There have been a large number of recent reports in the last few days regarding FaceTime. Here is one discussion https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6096640?tstart=0
Note that there are several mentions of the iOS version but many are also reporting the problem even after updating.

AirPrint not working on my 3rd gen iPod touch.
It works on my iPhone and ipad2.
I have a new HP printer.

AirPring requires a 3G or later iPod.  Are you sure you have a 3G iPod?  A 2G iPod can only go to iOS 4.2.1 and that is what you say you have. If yours is an 8 or 16 GB one it is a 2G. A 32 GB can be either. See:

From what I read, this issue is affecting mostly users with iOS 6 installed on their devices.  If you are able, upgrade to iOS 7.  My mom called me yesterday with the same issue, upgraded, then it worked fine for her.
If you are not able to upgrade, you'll probably have to wait for Apple to fix whatever is affecting iOS 6.

Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.Have yo tried:
    - Backing up and restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • FaceTime not working on my Macbook Pro. I am able to sign in successfully and add contacts.  When I try to call a contact with an iPhone, its connecting then fails.  When someone try to FaceTime me,I try to access but it says connecting then fail

FaceTime not working on my Macbook Pro. I am able to sign in successfully and add contacts.  When I try to call a contact with an iPhone, it says connecting then fails by ending automatically.   When someone try to FaceTime me,I accept but it says connecting then fail.  I only have a MacBook Pro to FaceTime and not an iPhone.  I was informed that I should be able to FaceTime from my laptop via video call without an iPhone.
    Please advise.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    1. The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    2. Connect to a different network, such as a public Wi-Fi hotspot, and try again.

    OMG... Your answer doesn't help.
I am using Mac for 25 years and supported so many users that I do understand what the word Help means...
The fact that a gov doesn't allow the use, doesn't mean it is also not allowed worldwide and the telephone is supposed to work worlwide, be sold in another country one day where Facetime is welcome.
North Korea doesn't not allow cellphone, so it must be bad to use it there, isn't it?
By the way I have the solution via http://www.macworld.com/ forum but it is not allowed so... in mp the answer you will get, young Padawan, just if HELP is required.
