It was working last week and then I updated my phone to iOS 5.1.1 it stopped working.It worked when I tried FaceTiming another iPhone.
Any ideas??

I have an iPod Touch, and it's home button isn't working. It works but it does not respond at the moment. For example I press it and then 5 seconds later it goes to "Voice Control" which is activated by holding down the home button. Is it stuck? If it is, how can I fix it?

App Store not working on 1st gen iPod touch HELP NEEDED!!!

I have a 1st Generation iPod touch and I have been using App Store very often to download apps. I do not have my iPod syched to my computer, so I cannot download apps with it. I just use my iPod's app store. Up until the other day, it has been working. I tried to download an app, but it showed no screen shots, and by tapping the price to download it, it did not do anything. It did this on every app I tried. Every time I try to download an app, it doesn't work. Is it because my iPod is so old? What is the problem?

Try resetting the iPod..
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Why do the new earphones not work with 1st Generation iPod touch?

Does the 1st generation iPod touch not "recognise" [recognize if you are American] these functions? I am talking about the microphone and the button on the new earphones.

Because the Touch is primarily a music player, that is what I purchased and I'm quite satisfied with it as it is.

This maybe because the hardware is simply incompatible, they cannot cover every eventuality, had they done so the Touch would have been more expensive and I would not have bought one.
Technology moves on, fact. I you don't feel Apple are playing fair then just avoid their products, that'll learn 'em.

My touchscreen AND homescreen are not working on my 4g iPod touch. What should I do?

My 4g iPod touch does not have a warranty anymore.
Earlier today, the home button stopped working: it feels like it is permanently pressed down and I can't fix it. I tried plugging in my charger but it didn't help.
I got Assistive Touch but then I tapped on 'Favourites' and the pinch thing came up in my lock screen. Then, the touchscreen jut stopped working, so I am stuck with that in my lock screen and only my lock button works.
How do I restart or switch off my iPod (using only the lock button and not the touch screen or home button)
OR how do I restart it via iTunes on my computer?

Exchange calendar syncing suddenly not working on 2nd gen IPOD touch

Calendar syncing on IPOD touch 2nd generation no longer works with Microsoft Exchange server. Mail syncing works fine.

A full restore is probably not going to solve your ongoing WiFi issues - which are causing your YouTube problems. Best bet is to do two things with your router:
1. Pull the plug, wait a minute or two, plug it back in. (power cycling)
2. If that works, you are done. If not, go to the router manufacturer's website and download and install the latest firmware for your router.
If you are still having problems, reset your iPod network settings - tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. When your iPod restarts, log back into your network by this route:
1. Tap Settings > WiFi > Other
2. Enter your network name
3. Enter your security mode
4. Enter your password
You should be all set. However, if you continue to have WiFi problems, please post a new question, with details about your network setup and router, to one of the other touch discussion groups.

WiFi not working properly (5th gen iPod Touch)

I have a 64 GB iPod Touch 5th gen (iOS 6.1.3 - NOT Jailbroken)
Ever since I got the device the wifi is working 100% fine. Until a few days ago it barely works. It says it's connected (wifi arches visible) but webpages and internet dependent apps are saying there is "no internet connection" or "network error." I turned off wifi and when i try to reconnect it displayed "Unable to join the network <name of our home wifi>." I reset the router, reset the iPod's network settings, and removed the case with no avail. The iPod's wifi can only work within 2 meters from our router, which is not normal.
Note: there is nothing wrong with our wifi router or our home build. All of our various devices (laptops, iPad, my dad's GS3 mini, and even my 4 year old phone) can connect without any problems wherever they are in the house.

So this not being your router's problem let's conclude that iPod is the culprit! You were saying that it worked properly until recently so it might be a iOS related problem. Try restoring the firmware using iTunes! But before, backup everything and proceed through it! After restoring, iTunes will ask about restoring the data or setting it up as a new one - DON'T RESTORE. Let the backup be there, try setting it up as new. Then verify the wifi connectivity, if all goes right then you can restore from backup! If all else fails, your device may require an authorised personnel attention asap! Cheers!

Ios4 not working on 3rd generation ipod touch

i received a free ipod touch with my mac computer about a month ago. I just finished downloading ios4 and the only thing that is different is that it has the new dock and I can make folders, but multitasking and home screen wallpaper, or any of the other features are not working. Is anyone else having this problem, or can anyone tell me how to fix this. And I know for a fact I have the latest generation ipod touch, I just got it a month ago.

As you can see, the iPod Touch 3rd Gen (I got 32 GB, 3rd Gen) isn't listed as a compitable device.. So now I don't know whether to believe the text or the compitable list.. I really don't wanna wasted an already outrageous price on a simple thing like a adapter - And really, what's up with you NOT being able to charge your iPod from a regular USB power adaptar - NOOOOO, it HAS to be the APPLE-MADE one, cause it's soooo white.. Yes, I'm frustrated, 'cause my first time with an Apple product hasn't just been as your slogan says: "It just works!".. Nop.. Problems, confusing software, and you wouldn't even let me now that my username was already taken when I creted this account. Come on... Took me several "Create now" and Browser-switching to figure it out..

Welcome to the  forums!
I can't help you with things like user names. Apple handles that; I'm an Mac/iPod user, not an Apple employee.
Tech specs for the unit you have can be found here: http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/specs.html. And, based on the back view (4th image) on the page you listed, I'd say you could use it for your iPod, because you should have the USB charge-cable that came with the iPod. (The one that plugs into the computer, and hence, into the back of the charger.)
However, I'm not an expert in European iPods, being American.
As for software...Apple software, if you're used to using Windows, takes time to get used to. I'm still finding things out, and I switched a year ago. It takes a little time.

On/off button not working on brand new iPod touch 5th gen

My daughter has just unboxed a brand new iPod touch 5th gen that arrived today.
It wouldn't turn on so I assumed the battery was flat which I thought was odd but I plugged it in and it came on - 90% + battery.
The on/off button does not do anything. We've pressed it, held it - nothing. If I press the on/off and the home button together, Siri starts.
It will only switch off after a minute has elapsed. We can't do it manually.
What's going on? Any ideas?

MY landscape worked before but just stoppted one day this is my first ipod so i dont know how to do all of the stuff yet and cant figure out how to make landscape work on my texting again please help.
