FaceTime not working with os x mountain

When tyring to reinstall it says the OS is to high for facetime when is a fix coming out for this??

FaceTime is built into the Mountain Lion OS. You do NOT have to buy it from the MAS - that is only for people who have an older OS.
Open Launchpad, or Finder > Applications, or Spotlight and find FaceTime. Upon first launch, it'll walk you through the steps to set up.

  • Facetime not working with new update

I updated my Ipod touch with the new operating system and facetime does not work anymore.
I didn't update my husbands and his is working fine.
I checked his options and we have the same set up.
I even turned off facetime to reactivating it, thinking that it would need to be reactived and there is no difference.
I tried to back up to the cloud to downgrade it, but it won't show me the status of the cloud, nor will it let me back up to it.
    Any suggestions ?

    Your welcome.
It will work but you will have to contact your carrier to get a different plan.
For instance I'm with AT&T on a grandfather plan unlimited data in order for me to use 3G - I will need to update my plan to "shared data plan".
I'm not willing to lose my unlimited data, just to use facetime over 3g when it works on wifi.  But that would be up the the user on what they feel is more important.
    Hope that clarifies things.

  • Why is my iMessage and FaceTime not working with ios 7?

I just updated my iphone 5 to ios 7 and it's not letting me use FaceTime or iMessage. It's saying it's still activating. I'm afraid if I reset I will lose everything, but is there any other way to fix it?

    Hi there,
both services send a silent SMS (one that is not listed anywhere on your device) containing a configuration request to an Apple server. This server then responds with the needed configuration details. It can take some (from a few minutes to several hours) time for this answer to come. Also if for whatever reason text send/receive is not working properly, iOS can get stuck on the "waiting for activation" message.
    Hope this helps,
    Chris

  • FaceTime not working with prepaid sim

    Hi everyone,
I own an officially unlocked (by Orange France) iPhone 4. Whenever I travel outside of France, I always use prepaid local sim cards (roaming fees are way too high + subscribing to data roaming with Orange is almost impossible as it is very complicated).
How come FaceTime does not work (the option to make FaceTime calls is not there anymore) when a prepaid sim card is inserted in my iPhone (and when I am obviously using a wifi network)?
    Thank you!

While I can not say for certain but,
To use facetime one first calls another iPhone user via cell. This lets the two phones let each other know "hey, I am an iPhone 4". Once done, a Facetime option shows up for that contact (the phone won't know who in contact list is a iPhone 4 user until you call once). Once done, then you can use Facetime with that person right then, or phone will remember to give option to start directly anytime you are on WiFi.
Now, "how" do they tell each other I am uncertain, but could be that SIM plays a role in identifying iPhone 4 status. Since you are not using the SIM that came with the phone it could just be that.

  • My magic mouse does not work with OS X Mountain Lion?

My magic mouse does not work the direction of vertical displacement with the update OS X Mountain Lion?

You are correct that you cannot install version 5.x of the AirPort Utility on OS X Mountain Lion. However, once installed it will run just fine. One workaround is to extract the utility directly from the disk image (.dmg) file.
Here are the basic steps to install version 5.6 under Mountain Lion using CharlesSoft's Pacifist:
If you haven't already download the AirPort Utility disk image file directly from Apple Support Download
Place the resultant AirPortUtility56.dmg file onto your Mac's Desktop.
    Run Pacifist.
Click on the Open Package option. Find the disk image file that you just placed on your desktop, and then, click on Open.
The utility is located as follows: Contents of AirPortUtility56.dmg > Contents of AirPortUtility56.pkg > Contents of AirPortUtility56Lion.pkg > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility 5.6.app
Drag AirPort Utility 5.6.app to your Mac's /Applications/Utilities folder.
You can now run the AirPort Utility from the Utilities folder.

  • Why is it that Adobe CS2 software will not work with Mac OS Mountain Lion? What do I do?

Why is it that I must pay more money to upgrade my Adobe software so that it will work with Apple Mac OS Mountain Lion. Is it that Adobe wants to wring every cent out of me in order for me to use there products? Or should I just delete the Adobe software from my system and forget about Adobe and find something else?

Waynjer61 please see the system requirements for Creative Suite 2 listed at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1195856.
The largest issue which is preventing you from utilizing Creative Suite 2 on your current computer is the switch which was made from PowerPC processors to Intel processors.  This coupled with Apple dropping Rosetta support, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosetta_(software), which previously allowed Intel processors to utilize applications coded for PowerPC processors is the main cause of Creative Suite 2 no longer functioning under newer operating systems.

  • IMessage and FaceTime not working with phone number.

    Hi guys,
I've had this issue for days. My iMessage had been linked with my email. So I sign out of "my Apple ID" to enable me select my phone number as my preferred option for use. Unfortunately, I have my former phone number (which does not exist anymore) in grey and not my present phone number. So I'm stuck with my old contact and my email address for iMessage and FaceTime. I have tried toggling iMessage off and on, it keeps me on "waiting for activation" mode, deducts some airtime for SMS charge but still goes back to "iMessage unsuccessful".
Guys what can I do to link my active phone number to my iMessage and FaceTime.

    Hello Walidou,
I've gone through the text, thanks. But it doesn't give me a solution still. It says if after waiting for activation for 24hours it doesn't still work, then contact apple support. You see it still brings me back here.
Infact, as I'm writing this my airtime is still being deducted as SMS is being automatically sent to some random number like "+447537410257"

  • IMessages and FaceTime not working with os x update?

i just updated my macbook to osx and now my iMessages and FaceTime will not open.  I immediately get a message that the program has quit unexpectedly and that I can submit the problem to apple. Any suggestions for ways to fix this??? My internet also seems to be crashing super frequently and I have to force quit. I just did the update yesterday and have already had so many problems with it!

This problem has seemed to work itself out.  I wrote a comment about what happened in the comments section of the form that is submitted to apple when a program quits unexpectedly...not sure if that helped or not, just glad that my programs are up and working again!

  • FaceTime not working with one person

    Hello!
So I'm running iOS8 8.1.2 on an iPhone 6+. I gave my sister my old iPhone 5C running iOS 8.1.2 to use more as an iPod Touch with wifi only. I think the FaceTime issue must be on the end of her phone, the 5C, because I can FaceTime everyone else besides her. (Everything else is functioning normally for her.) But I can't understand why it wouldn't work. It's completely not an option for either of us to FaceTime the other person. She can't tell me if it's just me or not because she doesn't have any other contacts besides me. We're both updated, we've both purged settings and allowed FaceTime to be on and connect with our iClouds. We turned on restrictions, we've rebooted, etc. If it matters, we're both synced with Windows 8 machines.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Oh, yes, I'm sorry - I should have said that!
The old phone was restored fully and set up as a totally new device/new owner/new sync and it has a new Apple ID associated with it.

  • IPAD 2 FaceTime not working with IOS 6.1.3

HOw do I uprade from IOS 6.1.3 to IOS 7 or IOS 6.1.6?  I do not want to upgrade to IOS 8 due to problems IPAD 2.  FaceTme no .onger works. I researched & found that the certificate has expired and need to have later version of IOS 6.1.3.

Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade to any version except for the most recent version that your device is capable of running. In your case, that is iOS 8.1. You cannot upgrade to any other version and you will. O longer be able to use FaceTime unless you upgrade.

  • New phone - iMessage and Facetime not working with number?

I had a 4s and recently got a 5s, and now iMessage on my Mac only has my email as an option. My phone number is the same. I searched around for a solution, and one involved signing out and back into both iMessage and Facetime on my Mac, so I did, and now Facetime has the same problem. I really do not want to log into my Apple ID in iMessages on my phone because I tried that a few days ago and had all kinds of problems with sending and receiving messages. Currently, my phone is sending and receiving with my phone number, which is checked but also grayed out in Settings. I am running OS X 10.8.3. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

  • Home sharing does not work with new mountain lion update.

home sharing does not work with new mountain lion update. Does anyone else have the same issue. Updated all computers in my home, deauthorized and reauthorized each computer. turn off home sharing and turned it back on. don't know what else to do..please help...

Our Apple TVs continue to lose connection ever since installing Mountain Lion on the host computer. The only thing that fixes them is to quit and relaunch iTunes, which only works unti the ATV goes to sleep. If a movie is paused for more than a few minutes and the ATV goes to sleep, pressing play again on the remote is greeted with "There are no movies on this computer" or "Turn on Home Sharing."
If we stop a video on one ATV and attempt to resume it in another room, the error begins again. The other ATV can't connect until iTunes is relaunched.
My guess is that it has something to do with the new [annoying] security settings. But I still haven't found a fix other than restarting iTunes everytime we want to watch something from our downloads. Fail.
