Facetime on Mac Lion

My boyfriend and I both have a MacBook Pro and when I call him on Facetime... if he is browsing on Safari, the Facetime call wont come in.  Is there a setting we have to change?
Just tested him calling me while on Safari and only my iPhone5 tells me I have a Facetime call coming in!!!

where can i download a working version of Facetime.  I was having problems with mine and I deleted it.   Now it won't let me re-install it from the app store.

The App Store version of Facetime is for OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard only.
With OSX 10.7 Lion Facetime became part of OSX.
Download the OSX 10.7.2 ComboUpdater from here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1459 and install it.
Usually that helps bringing back missing parts of OSX.

    Hi,
    Via Google translate
estimates, aluguna help activating iMessage and facetime in mountain lion? I have tried to do it and I get an activation code appears and I contact technical support, the problem is that there is no support in chile and less appstore
Sometimes the app will tell you to "Contact Support" and give some numbers for you to do so.
It should also provide a link button to access Support.
I take it that this is the part that is not working ?
A veces, la aplicación le dirá que "Contact Support" y dar algunos números para que lo haga.
También debe proporcionar un botón de enlace para acceder a la Asistencia.
Supongo que esta es la parte que no está funcionando?
Where is the closest place that is likely to have Apple Support in a language that is helpful to you ?
It may pay to ring there and ask them to help.
¿Dónde está el lugar más cercano que es probable que tenga soporte de Apple en un lenguaje que es útil para usted?
Puede pagar a sonar allí y pedirles que le ayuden.
If you are getting the "Contact Support" Error dialogue there is no other fix.
Si usted está consiguiendo el "Contact Support" diálogo de error que no hay otra solución

  • FaceTime, Snow Leopard, Lion and Refunds.

    Hi all,
I purchased FaceTime for Mac when it came out a few months ago (paid AUD$1.19 for it) and feel a tad ripped off that Apple will be including it in Lion.
So my question to you, the Apple Support Community, is: do you think Apple will refund those who purchased FaceTime for Snow Leopard if they upgrade their Mac to Lion with the same Apple ID that was used to purchase FaceTime for Snow Leopard?
    Many thanks!
    -AllSeeingMac

I would not expect so. Its justifiable that you got a number of months' use out of the program, and for just over a dollar it's likely not something most people will worry too much about.

  • Trying to upgrade osx 10.5.8 so that I can use apple tv/facetime etc. mountain lion requires 10.6.8 how can I upgrade my osx? help!

trying to upgrade osx 10.5.8 on my old macbook pro
so that I can use apple tv/facetime etc. mountain lion requires 10.6.8 how can I upgrade my osx? help!
    Thank you~

Buy Snow Leopard from the online Apple Store - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard - and update until you get to 10.6.8. Then, if you're computer is able to run Mountain Lion, you'll be able to purchase ML and install it via the App Store.
    Good luck,

  • Problem with facetime for mac

hello guy! I've got a problem with facetime for mac.My sister has a I-pod touch fourth generation with factime but i cna't phone her a message come on my mac.It say "xxx can't receive facetime's calls"!Can you help me??

    Thanks, Dah•veed.
I did see mention of using Google Public DNS while I was searching the forums prior to posting, but to be honest didn't think it was a DNS-related problem.
However, to rule it out I've set the prefered DNS servers on my router to Google's, but FaceTime still disconnects after 4-5 seconds when calling between me and my brother-in-law.  It doesn't matter who initiates the call.
As a test, before I made the changes to my router, I logged into FaceTime as him on my MBP and tried calling myself on my iMac, and that was successful.
The same test between the two iMacs when they were here was unsuccessful, so now I'm definitely thinking it's something on the '08 iMac.
Now I just need to figure out what...

  • How can I print to my HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless Printer from my iPhone 4S which used to work before AirPrint printers were even available? (running Mac Lion OS, all software and HP sw updates are all performed)

How can I print to my HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless Printer from my iPhone 4S which used to work (on prior iPhones) before AirPrint printers were even available? (running Mac Lion OS, all software and HP sw updates are all performed)
I don't get it, I read one post about why would we have to buy an AirPrint Printer when we have used the "print to a wifi printer" just fine in the past?  Yes I feel that's exactly what's happening to me now too. I want to print from my iPhone and iPad to my WiFi Printer which is also now connected to my Airport Express WiFi network just fine. No problems.

Very glad you added that bit of information because I see different problems similar to this.  I want to share with them what you did and hopefully you not only fixed your specific problem but you can lend some more advice to others with problems like this. Thanks!
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

  • Mac Lion and Cisco VPN client problems

I just installed Lion 10.7 on my iMac and can no longer use the downloaded Cisco VPN client to connect to Microsoft Remote Desktop and access the PC in my company's office. When I try to launch the VPN client I get Error 51. I used to be able to enter a command in the Terminal as a workaround to use the VPN client when that happened, but that no longer works. I have tried booting into 32-bit mode; doesn't work. I tried to use the Cisco client built into Lion using settings provided by my company. When I try to connect I get the following message: "The negotiation with the VPN server failed. Verify the server address and try reconnecting."
I have searched the web looking for a solution. My company's tech department is stumped; the Apple Geniuses haven't been able to help. Does anyone have any ideas how I can use either the downloaded Cisco VPN client or the client built into Lion?
Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPad App

Here is the link which you can use to configure the inbuilt VPN client in MAC Lion.
    http://glazenbakje.wordpress.com/2011/07/28/how-to-create-a-cisco-vpn-connection-in-apple-mac-os-x-lion/
Make sure you configure the attributes correctly.
Secondly the inbuilt VPN client code of Lion is made in collaboration with Cisco so there will not be any issues of compatibility.
    Cheers,
    Rohan

  • How do i install Facetime on Mac, do i need to upgrade to Snow leopard?

    Hey all
my boy's got an itouch with FaceTime on it so i want to connect my Mac Mini to it. I cannot get facetime without owning the AppStore application. I cannot install the AppStore App on the mac Mini unless i install Snow Leopard is this right?
currently i am on Mac OS X ver 10.5.8.
processor 1.83 GHZ intel core 2duo
    memory 1GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
my question is that do i have to pay £26 for the upgrade in order to get the App Store application?
    cheers

That is correct; FaceTime for Mac requires Mac OS X 10.6.6. So you will need to purchase the Snow Leopard upgrade if you want FaceTime.
    Regards.

  • Trouble connecting kodak 3.2 to mac lion, trouble connecting kodak 3.2 to mac lion, trouble connecting kodak 3.2 to mac lion, trouble connecting kodak 3.2 to mac lion

    Hi there,
I'm having trouble connecting a Kodak 3.2 printer to my Mac (Lion OS 10.7.4) - I've tried it on Wifi but no success and the same with usb. The mac is saying Printer not responding.
I've followed troubleshoot on the kodak support site and also done the usual uninstall - reinstall but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

The first question would be if it works while directly plugged in to the machine rather than on Wifi.

  • Early sat. morning java enabled a new update internally. now I can't get on BNSF website , it says not verified by a trusted source. Is there a patch or fix for this for mac lion system

BNSF help desk says it was an internal update by java and mac users won't be able to use firefox to log on. The update changed things for mac users. The window that popped up said sun.security validator exception. MD2 with RSA disabled. Cannot be verified by trusted source. I really need this web site for my work. I'm also computer illiterate. Is there some kind of patch or fix for mac lion. HELP.

That file could be set as a Launch Agent or Daemon in your ~/Library or /Library, You could try to look for it or Safeboot your computer and then empty the trash. Safebooting disables Launch Agents/Daemon and Third Party Kernal extensions. Here's the article to Safeboot OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? - Apple Support
