Even new purchases are not always fully up to date. Check and see by going to Settings > General > Software Update and see if it says it is up to date or not.
Also keep in mind that you need a WiFi connection for FaceTime.

The cable is brand new I got it and my iPhone 5C for Christmas (7 days ago) Nothing bad had happened to it, its still in brand new condition, I took the sticker off of the USB cable and made sure the glue all came off and non went inside, I've checked it for dirt and things, so I don't know what else to do, I don't want to buy a new one because they cost like £15 and I shouldn't need to after 7 days, I've noticed the cable gets very hot, yet again I don't know why. Can somebody please help me?

My iPhone's accelermoter hasn't been working correctly for a bit now, I am unable to rotate to protrait on all apps and I have assured that protraite orientation isn't on lock. I have also tested the X,Y and Z axis on an app and it reads when placed on a flat surface:
          X: -0.18
          Y:-0.19
          Z:-2.30
Is this a hardware issue or a software issue? I have a 3Gs if that helps. Thanks in advance

Zooming in and out on a iPhone/iPad isn't working properly on my website

This is going sound like I am trying to draw attention to my website...I apologize. Its not intended to. But I'm missing something that allows my website to "pull back" on a *iphone or ipad* to get a birds eye view of the site. If someone, with web building skills, would be willing to check out my website at www.brainmatter.mobi on a *iPhone or iPad*, you will see whats happening.
Try pinching out. It lets you zoom out to get a better look at the site. But when you release it snaps back in (the problem is more acute on a iphone.) At first, I thought this might be a limitation of having built it in iWeb--this was just a get-it-up-and-running draft of the site. But I have since also done some tests making the site with DreamWeaver and it behaves the same way. So could someone give me a clue as to what I'm doing wrong here?
Interesting observation. It appears that the zoom is partially working. It seems to stay in one of two zoom positions (kind of close in and really zoomed in).
I have asked this before. Many have suggested that I needed to make the website 980 pixels wide--which I tried and got the same results. I thought the iphone and ipad would just detect the size and act appropriately: It doesn't. So its something that must have to be embedded in the website.

What is the content width of your site? If it's greater than 980 that may be the problem. 980 is what Apple suggests for mobile sites.
The site just fits my iPad when it's in the landscape orientation, but barely. If you want it to fit somewhat nicer in the window make the content width what I suggested and the text, etc. less that than so there's a border visible between the text, images, etc. and the edge of the window.

The sound on my iPhone 4S isn't working. When headphones are plugged in you can listen to music an watch videos but when you take the headphones out the option to adjust volume goes away and you can't hear music or videos. Any idea how to fix this?

Today I tried listening to music on my iPhone 4S, only to find that my volume adjuster had disappeared. And just to clarify, when I say that it disappeared, I mean that when I press the volume buttons on my phone, I see the speaker icon but the gauge bar is gone. I can't hear music or watch videos

Basic Troubleshooting Steps when all else fails
Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.
Relaunch the App and try again.
Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
Test the issue after each step. If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

my youtube app used to work on both 3g signal and wi-fi but lately it says "cannot open " when i want to watch a video with a 3g signal but it works with a wi-fi signal i dont know whats caused this problem i havent jailbroken or downloaded anything its a new phone from apple unlocked, i have tried switching off and restaring but no luck any ideas.....should i contact apple please help

Stocks iPhone Application isn't working on 2G after 2.2 Update

Hi, ever since i updated the Software on my 2G Phone to 2.2, the Stocks application started behaving erratic. The daily value of stock, for example, AAPL, apple, shows the numeric value as well as the graphical movement of the stock price. The graph is accurate, but, the numerical value is way out of sync with the graph. (Ex. the numeric value shows that the stock is valued at $120 but, the graph shows around $94).
Did anybody else see this? Any help in getting this resolved? I really appreicate your inputs.

Something I noted that solved my issue...
Setting the Date and Time to Automatic doesnt help. When I set it to "OFF" and chose the Time Zone as "Baltimore, USA", it started working.
Would have been nice if Apple had a KB Article or something on this.

IPhone 5c isn't working

I have an iPhone 5c and I dropped my phone back in March and the screen popped out but I was able to pop it back in, but recently like beginnning of October, my phone started dropping calls, won't make calls, won't receive calls, nor pick them up. But when I actually am able to get a hold of someone, there is a super loud beeping/screeching noise that can be heard on both sides of the line. Also, when I'm taking to someone, all of a sudden their voices go super quiet, then loud again.
Also, there's a spot on my screen that you can press on and it will make a really weird clicking sound like under the screen. It doesn't play sounds at times and sometimes won't play my music at all. The screen has a mind of its own; for example, when I click on Twitter, it will choose Facebook instead. It clicks other things that aren't even CLOSE to the thing that I actually pressed.
I'm going to the apple store sunday but what do you think is wrong with it? Hardware issue? Screen issue? Or would I be better off just getting a new phone? Also, how much would something like this cost to fix?

The iPhone needs to go to the Apple store genius bar for evaluation...repair would depend on if it can be repaired, or if it needs an out-of-warranty replacement, which is $269 in the US for the iPhone 5c.

My Iphone 4 isn't working, It got wet and now I have it in a bag of rice. I heard that I should not try to turn it on or mess with the power button, so I haven't. It makes sounds when I get a text message but the screen is blank., I have tried to contact apple support online and it tries to send my iphone a message, but because it doesnt work, I can't receive it, so if I decline the "health check" then it says that it's "unable to complete my request at this time. Please try again in a few minutes or start over now." I have tried this several times and it's still not letting get any help. I don't know what to do. Someone please help. How did you get help with your phone when it got messed up or damaged?

A wet phone is out of warranty. This is considered user damage. Even if you were able to get it to start now, the chances of it working for long are slim. I suggest going to Apple and see about an OOW replacement. One for the iPhone 4 is only $149USD and it would come with a short warranty. It is a refurbished device and you would not be worried about encountering additional problems.

Just out of warranty. This is a software issue. everything was ok until the software update. Apple just need to sort it out.

For the second time (I've been to the Genius Bar once already) my WiFi isn't working on my iPhone 4S. This is really infuriating and costly!!! I see others have the same issues. Can't Apple do anything about this? It's obviously a hardware problem!

For what reason, other than making yourself look foolish, would you ask questions that we users could not possibly answer as we're NOT Apple?
Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW. Nothing more "ingenius" to suggest than these steps that Apple has outlined in the manual. If these steps don't work, then go back to the Apple store.
