No, those are iDevices = they run iOS (as mentioned).
Computers are Mac Pro, Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini = they run Mac OS.
iOS and Mac OS are two different operating systems and not interchangeable.

Facetime on 2 ios devices

trying to use 2 ios devices linked to the same apple id, set up different emails in each but the recipient device just rings once then says "xxxx is busy"
does it make any difference being on the same wireless network? wouldnt have thought so, where am I going wrong?

You can have the same Apple Id, but you do need to have different email addresses for the "You can be Reached by Facetime At" section under settings.
If that is o.k, then make sure the email address you set for each device is the one being used to initiate the facetime call.
If your facetime call is initiated using the email from the Apple ID its effectively like calling yourself.

Which of the two account has the problem ?
AIM have been suspending @mac.com names of people that travel to different countries saying it is Unexplained use even if the people have travelled many times before.
A NON Apple Issued email is not going to be an AIM name unless you registered it with AIM
I presume the two accounts refer to Apple IDs in the first place and not the AIM/iChat login.
IF you changed the Passwords at Apple they have to stay at 16 characters or less to work with the AIM servers.
I have no ideas why you can't login to iCloud at the moment.

Stage3D Recording Causes iOS App to Crash

Wanted to give a heads up on a major Scout crash:
I have a pretty good gigabit ethernet and wasn't downloading anything at the time, but with Stage3D Recording turned on, my iOS app crashed due to 150MB worth of Network Buffers, which I assume is a bunch of Stage3D data that is queued up. When I turned Stage3D off, there was no Network Buffer memory issue and no crash.

Runtime: 11.6.602.161
AIR: 3.6.0.5920
SWF ver 19
iOS 6.1.2 iPad2

Unfortunately Stage3D recording does use up a lot of memory, because it's sending every single mesh and texture over wifi to Scout. If your game has a lot of 3D resources then this could cause it to run out of memory - in this case, it's not AIR that's crashing, but the OS is killing it because of it using too much memory.
My suggestion would be to do Stage3D recording when running your content on desktop (e.g. in a simulator), since you won't have these memory constraints. If you're deep-diving into rendering, then you should be able to solve your problems on the desktop, since the rendering is the same. Profiling on device is best for looking into performance and memory issues, since you absolutely have to run it on the target platform in order to meaningfully see what's going on.

Able to sign in but iMessage and FaceTime noT working (iOS 8.1.3)

I am not able to use imessage or FaceTime with my Ipad (iOS 8.1.3). Same with my iphone. I can sign i. But messages are not senT. Have u faced the same?

It sounds as if you may have an issue with your iPad not being activated for iMessages or FaceTime. You can correct this by following the steps in this article -

Video recording in iOS 6 problems / bug?

I upgraded my iPhone 4S from iOS 6 beta 4 to the public release of iOS 6 last week.
Since then, when i try to record a video using main camera app - i touch start record and its fine until i touch to stop recording. It does not stop recording? It shows recording time carrying on counting and freezes the record button. I have to either way a long time for it to finally stop recording or exit (and kill sometimes) the app. Then re enter camera app and it then is ok to record again.
Is this a known bug? IS it linked to upgrading from iOS 6 beta to main iOS 6 released release? How do i fix this?

I have exact same problem on my 4s 64gb.
Had very similar problems on ios 5.1.1, but would freeze the video after having pressed the record button to stop recording, the eventually the iphone would unfreeze, the video would eventually appear in the camera roll as a grey box, you then clicked on the video taken which was a grey background with QuickTime logo, you pressed play but no video would appear, but you could hear the audio.
Now after ios 6 update, I have exact same problem as you, iPhone seems to get quite warm aswell once it has crashed! The photo camera works fine though, and did do on 5.1.1.
Apple say take phone back for a newly refurbished iphone, but didn't want to as I can live without it, Nd my phone is : months old and don't want an older phone! I know there tested thoroughly, but my problem is that I paid £250 upfront on my phone contract to get 64gb and don't want a replacement, everything else works a treat on the phone, only video camera problems as you have now and symptoms as I have described above.
No one in apple seem to know a fix, I read about jail breaking, but don't want to void my warranty!
Does anyone know of a fix please, I've reset, restored, set up as a new phone, fresh ispw files, was told to wait by apple for ios 6 saying that that may fix the problem.
When I read about the problems created by ios updates etc, why is it that people have such random issues, surely if we all have same phones, why is it we don't have very similar issues? Do each and every iPhone have a mind of its own FFS!
I thought I'd trade my phone in an get a samsung galaxy S3, but iPhone 4S prices have slumped since release of iphone 5, I'm definitely not an iphone convert, I've always had htc! Very annoying problem with the video camera, which if you download another camcorder app it does exactly the same and freezes! I give up!

Guided Access in Facetime gone since iOS 8 ?

SInce my update to iOS 8 it is not possible to enter Guided Access mode whilest in a Facetime call.
is this a problem with my iPad, or a new setting in iOS 8 ?
This option is particularly usefull to facetime with my child to my parents.
The kid is too young to understand the concept of a touch screen, and keeps pushing the noses of his grandparents on the screen :-)
And of course the red button when it appears, ending the call...

I Have same issue . Spent almost 1 hour with Apple care support . Interestingly I was told that Apple disabled this feature on iOS 8 while you are in regular or face time call . Yes you are hearing it right . You can no longer be able to enable guided access while you are on any type of call. I repeatedly checked with senior tech support person and she has some internal notes that it is willful change from Apple and not a bug .i wonder why Apple would do such kind of things . But hey, it's Apple . There should have seen something that would have forced them to disable it . But unfortunately it's hurting me bad . I can longer give my phone to my kids for a face time call with their grand parents . Poor grandma . They are gone miss their grand children. my iPhone is going to be no more part of my family . It will be just my personal device for good .

FaceTime freezes with iOS 8.1

I have been experiencing all kinds of issues since first downloading iOS 8.0 thriugh the update 8.1. Very upset. Today my issue is with FaceTime on iPad 2. If the call goes through, it frequently freezes up. ending call and recalls do not go through. Restarting sometimes resolves it. In addition, I can no longer switch camera view. Whenever I do, it freezes.
Any help would be appreciated. So frustrated now that I am considering going to Android!

HHe's. A simple visit to Settings, disabling and then immediately re-enabling the feature fixes the issue. But just for a while.

Modifying CameraUI for custom recording in iOS

I'm trying to find a way to record a video from the iOS camera. I have succesfully used teh CameraUI and all. although I'd need to somehow add some features to it. For one, I need to limit the time for recording to 15 seconds. Is there a way to listen to the cameraUI when the user presses the record button so I can force it to stop recording when the allowed time has run out?
I've looked at ANE's, sadly none seem to record actual video, they simply draw bitmaps on every frame. I could store each bitmap as a byteArray and then compress to an FLV using an open source compressor. Though that will be fairly slow on iOS
I've also tried the webcam (camera.as), but that doesn't work in GPU rendering mode.
Anyone else have ideas?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Interestingly whenever I add a static ipv6 entry, I get the SOA as an answer instead of the actual AAAA record. But from the router itself, it can use the statically defined hosts just fine.

in case someone runs into this thread: In our case it turned out that the problem was related to the DNS Server service. Regardless of the above configuration settings on the NIC and in the registry, the DNS server will always register in DNS using
all of its IPs that the service is listening on. To change this behaviour you can tell the DNS service to only register individual IPS in the registry:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DNS\Parameters
      Add a Reg_Multi_SZ called "PublishAddresses" and specify the list of IPs
In our case we added just one of the three configured IPs and from then on the server only registered this address and not the other ones.
