Facetime sidebar - How to remove it?

Whenever I launch Facetime, 1/3 of the screen is covered
by the 'contacts' sidebar. How can I minimize the side bar to get
a full screen image?

Click on the Format or Setup button on the toolbar, whichever is active (blue). Or View > Hide Inspector (Opt-Cmd-I).
Also in addition to hiding the inspector try, View > Hide Toolbar (Opt-CMD-T) in fullscreen mode -- you can really focus on your writing.

Me too is having problem with facetime,it started when i was watching on my iswifter browser, then someone call on facetime, when i tried to answer it,it was working fine,but after a connection lost,i tried calling my friend again, and suddenly it wasn't working anymore, i call a lot of times but she said there is no call in her ipad,nobody is recieving my call on facetime since then,and also i cant recieve any from them,everytime i place a call,i cant here it ringing, but after maybe 50seconds i can here to sound tot-tot then the facetime will have a display of connection lost call back! I tried everything possible to fix it,even reset my network connection,change apple id,mute un mute,force stop... Turn on turn off facetime but nothing is change,until this very moment im still looking for answers!! I was looking for answers how do i uninstall it and then install it again mybe it'll work!!

You can't remove it when launching FaceTime to initiate a FaceTime call.

How to remove the sidebar folders

i would like to know how to remove the sidebar folder under the places section. reason being i have a folder that i previously place it on the sidebar but now i cant click that folder anymore. therefore i want to remove it.

Navigate to Users/username/Library/Preferences and find the file named, "com.apple.sidebarlists.plist" and move it to the trash. Empty the trash. Then restart you computer and the sidebar menu will be cleared of all added aliases. You will have to create them again.
If this doesn't work, launch the Terminal.app in the Applications/Utilities folder.
In the terminal type: (or copy and paste this command) "cd /Library/Preferences" (without the quotation marks) after the promt line and hit return. This will bring you to the directory with the "com.apple.sidebarlists.plist" file.
Then type: "rm com.apple.sidebarlists.plist" (without the quotation marks). This will remove that file.
Then restart you computer and the sidebar menu will be cleared of all added aliases. You will have to create them again.

Just came across a user with the same issue. Just in case anyone else searches for this in the future. On the Quick Access Toolbar if you click on the Touch/Mouse mode you will see you have touch mode selected. Switching to mouse mode removes the sidebar.
It is the 4th icon at the very top of your screenshot. Looks like a pointing finger.

The ? mark denotes something is missing. Like you had a Shortcut/Alias to a folder in the sidebar and you deleted that folder from your drive. So OS X doesn't know where it went and puts up a ? mark. Hold down the Command key and Drag it out/off the sidebar.

Not an iPhone or iPod (it's an HTC Wildfire with Android). He has a normal cellphone number and an email addressat hotmail.co.uk
Note: the double listing is in favourites for the phone app, and the contact is not doubled-up in the Contacs app (just noticed now).
Neither of those articles were relevant to removing the "double listing" in favourites.

I love the idea of the tags, however there comes a point when some become irrelevant. How can I remove them. I highlighting them in the dialogue box and hitting the delete key, that does not work. ?

I accidentally found that you can remove some tags while in the Sidebar view by just draggng them to the trash.
But after a certain point when you have drug all of tags in the list, you are then left with the "All Tags" button. When you click on that final button, you find that all of the tags you have ever created are still there in the All Tags category. So I guess what I do is just not create any new tags because the list just becomes too long to be useable. I liked the idea of Tags as a management tool, but like so many times before I will just go back to the file name workarounds that I have been using since 1988. They work because they were developed and tested by an actual user, me. Just toss a project number into the file name. Works every time, unlike the undocumented "features" that are apparently not tested.
But, if what I hear is true that Apple does not monitor these discussions, what was the point of writing this.
Would like to think they would look at these "discussions" as a resource, but.......

I found a pc name in the "shared" ("CONDIVISI" section for italian speakers like me!!) section of the left menu in the Finder. It is something I don't recognize. I never connected to this computer. Any clue how it has been able to get there? How to remove it?

Most likely, at some time, "betesda-vaio" was connected to the same network as your Mac. (Perhaps a friend connected their Vaio laptop to your wireless network during a visit?)
The Shared (CONDIVISI) section shows devices that are available on the network; it does not mean that your Mac is connected to the device (in this case "betesda-vaio").
If "betesda-vaio" is no longer on the same network as your Mac, if you log out (or restart), it should disappear from the sidebar.

If the above method doesn't work, you can try pre-configuring sidebar gadgets using unattend.xml, which can be used to override Sidebar default settings.
To disable Windows sidebar gadgets when windows load, you can configure this following in your unattend.xml.

PLEASE How to remove objects from sidebar?
Can draw folders and files etc in sidebar, but not remove the representation n sidebar. Pulled out objects returns back immediately.

You should be able to drag it off and "Poof" it. Have you released your mouse button?
If it's one of the standard items in Sidebar you might go to Finder > Preferences > Sidebar > and uncheck them.

You can't. FaceTime is banned where you purchased your phone & permanently removed from your phone. There is no way to add it back.

JPG file in sidebar 'places' cannot remove!

I have seen this before in the forum... this is NOT the same. Please do not tell me to click and wait for the puff of smoke - doesn't work. When I ctrl + click, the only option that appears is 'Open sidebar preferences' when I look on there the file I want to remove isn't on the list.
Now, I have read somewhere that someone else had the same problem and resolved it by realising he had moved the files and folders into new places on the mac and that is why the file is not recognised... Unfortunately I can see myself doing the same thing - but I can't remember where the files originally were!
Can someone please tell me how to get rid?

Go to Library>Preferences>com.apple.sidebars.plist and remove the .plist, then reboot.
