Facetime Slider Missing -- iPhone 4S

Just tried my first Facetime call.  It said, "Unavailable..."  Searched the Internet.  I was told to set Facetime slider in Settings > Phone to "on."  There is no such option on my 4S.  Just My Number, then "Calls."
I reset the iPhone as a new phone.  Rebooted.
Still no Facetime Slider option under Settings > Phone > "nothing!"
I had a 3GS.  Got the new 4S, restored from the 3GS, but said it was a new phone.
There is no clear path to a fix anywhere that I can find.  Can anyone help?
Thanks!

well,
if you have an iPhone 4s, that means you have an iOS 5, which also means, that you shouldn't be searching for the facetime slider in the phone settings...
you should go to settings, and you would find a Facetime tab under the Phone tab in settings.
in iOS 5, facetime is no longer included in the phone tab.. it has its standalone tab...
now if you don't see the facetime tab in your settings, then you are facing the same problem that a lot of people are...
I'm working on finding a solution for it without jailbreaking
good luck

I bought iphone 5s from bahrain now am using it in india and am missing facetime in my iphone 5s please respond me asap thanks

Phones bought in Middle Eastern countries will not have FaceTime on them because it has been banned by the Governments there, so if your phone does not have FaceTime on it and you bought it in the Middle East, then there is absolutely nothing that you can do.
Your phone will never have FaceTime on it and you can never get FaceTime on that phone.  The only thing that you can do to get FaceTime on your phone is to buy a new phone from a country that allows FaceTime.

  • IPhone 4 Facetime option missing :-(

    Hi,
I am using an Iphone 4 with IOS 4.3.5.
    I am in Qatar.
When I put my vodafone sim card , the facetime option is working fine.
But when I put my Qtel sim card, I cannot get that option. Its  missin completely.
Now, I tried putting this Qtel sim card on another Iphone 4 and the facetime works perfect.
I contacted QTel , Vodafone .. But all of them said, they are helpless.
It would be very much helpful if anyone can help me solving this issue .
    Regards,
    Shafeer

    • iPhone 4 units with FaceTime disabled have the following model numbers: MC603AE and MC605AE for units sold in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar. MC603AB and MC605AB for units sold in Egypt (and Jordan once it’s available).
    • FaceTime works on iPhone 4 units running iOS 4.0.2 but if you update to iOS 4.1 FaceTime will be disabled on these phones.
    • FaceTime is available in Tunisia according to Apple Tunisie page.
    • iPhone 4 units imported from UK, Hong Kong, Canada etc have no issues with FaceTime. Carrier Settings do not disable FaceTime as far as we know.

But if face time was disabled, then it would not have worked on the occasion where he was successful (which he links to having had the Vodaphone sim present)
It is the case that some handsets are disabled in some regions, but the reason here seems to be much more prosaic, ie misunderstanding how facetime works in the first place.

  • Ce time missing (iphon 4s update to ios 7.0.4 from 5.1.1) Phone purchased in UAE and now i am at Pakistan

i am using iphone 4s since 2012. I baught this phone in UAE (middle East). Now i am moved to Pakistan. I have update to IOS 7.0.4 from IOS 5.1.1 . Now i m missing Facetime. I have tried every way restoring again and again. Hard reset my iphone but nothing is working. Please advise me how can i use my favorit feature FACETIME again.

Any iPhone sold in the UAE is required by local government regulations to have FaceTime unavailable, permanently, regardless of where you take the iPhone.
The fact that you were able to use FaceTime was a 'glitch' of some sort.  That wasn't supposed to happen.
That 'glitch' has been corrected.  You were never supposed to be able to use Facetime on that iPhone.

    FACETIME MISSING
The governments in some middle eastern countries have banned Facetime and it is disabled on iphones purchased in those countries.  The countries include KAS, UAE and others.  There is no way to get Facetime on such phones (for example it cannot be downloaded and installed) and taking the phone to another country does not cause Facetime to reappear on such phones. In  support.apple.com/kb/ts3367  it says “Note: FaceTime may not be available, or may become unavailable, on devices purchased or used in certain countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Check your device's region of purchase for more information.”

  • I brought an Iphone 5 from UAE and now I am using it in India, Is there any idea on how to get facetime in my iphone?

I purchased an Iphone from UAE and I'm using it in India, so is there any chance of getting Facetime here?

There is no chance. If FaceTime is missing from the phone, it can not be installed.

  • TS3367 FaceTime App missing

Help please. FaceTime app missing on my iphone (ios6).   Checked that Restrictions are NOT enabled. Facetime does not appear in settings.  Went into AppStore and it is not available.

If it is not banned in your country, some middle eastern countries ban facetime. Then it is in your contacts itself. But sounds like its banned where you are. Or at least where you bought the phone from.

  • TS4185 i am using the same apple id for facetime in my iphone and mac. now, only my iphone can receive and make facetime calls. why can't facetime calls in my mac get through?

i am using one apple id for facetime in my iphone and mac. my phone is able to receive and make calls while my mac is not able to do both. what is the problem.

thanks.  your answer was correct, clearer.  I have another question, maybe you can answer.  I just purchase my ipad2 2 days ago.  yesterday, there was a sound.  today there is no sound.  there is a sound only in movies and you tube and music.  but no sound on all apps and keyboards.  I look it up and seems like ther are few that have this problem.  I called walmart coz I bought it there and they told me that they have not heard that before but if I can't fix it, just return it and exchange it with anew one since I have 14 days to do that.  I tried rebooting it and still won't work.  Should I just restore it?

  • Somebody uses my apple id for facetime on his iphone how can i remove his phone from my account?

somebody uses my apple id for facetime on his iphone how can i remove his phone from my account?

Last Spring I received a couple of emails to an alias I set up a long time ago under mac mail with mac.com - not my main ID - at mac.com.   The mail had the Icloud extension.     I just deleted it.
I then received a couple of e-mails forwarded to the same alias that came from a non-apple account that led me to search to see if the company was legit - it was.     Using a non-apple hidden account I sent that non-apple account an email informing them apparently when they registered the ID or alias as an ICLOUD extension - apple did not check for duplication in accounts or aliases that were not in the Icloud.
I also sent feedback to Apple telling them to fix it and apparently they did - along with the person who replicated my alias.
On this site there were a number of postings from people who also had problems with mac mail and Icloud who resolved it by contacting Apple and getting the accounts cleared up.

  • Cannot find FaceTime App on iPhone 5/New iPad

Found out that I did not have FaceTime app on my iPhone 5 or new iPad.
Have started reading articles about it.
Need to go thru settings=> general => restrictions and
set safari, camera, facetime . all to be "on".
and go thru settings => FaceTime and turn it on and also give correct
    e-mail addesses.
My iPad will put the FaceTime back to the screen.. no sweat.
Still did not see it on my iPhone..  Okay, read more articles.
have tried  settings=> general=> reset => "erase all content and settings"
    to reset everything..
still no FaceTime App showing on my iPhone. went thru all steps I did for iPad
and still do not see the app on my iphone..  Help?
Now, I think of it, I cannot get a FaceTime on my iPhone, right?
Once, I make a phone call, the facetime is an option to do, right?
if so, how can I find others using their e-mai? thanks for the tip.

There is no facetime app./icon,  never has been.
The manual shows how to use facetime.
Tap contacts, tap the contact you want to facetime, scroll down to the facetime button.

  • How do I get access to FaceTime on my iPhone 5?

I have an iPhone 5, model #MD646LL/A, currently at IOS V7.0.2 which was purchased from AT&T 10/25/2012.
I had not tried to use the FaceTime feature until last week and I find it the FaceTime button on a contact is grayed out.  My wife recently upgraded her cell phone to an
iPhone 5 and the feature is working on hers.  Both data plans are the same.
I have not Settings/Facetime option displayed.  The only reference I can find
for FaceTime is in the cellular settings where the option to use cellular data is ON.
How do I enable the FaceTime feature on my iPhone?

    Hello Joe,
I would be concerned too if I was not able to access the FaceTime on my iPhone.  In my experience, if you are not seeing FaceTime in Settings or the FaceTime app, it is being blocked by Restrictions.
I recommend confirming that FaceTime is not blocked in Settings>General>Restrictions.  You can find more information and the steps to access Restrictions in the following article:
