New Macbook Pro - Facetime 1.1.1, stalls and will not promt for log in under Preferances. Application will launch and camera light turns on but that's all.
Hold the shift key at boot time, then run through this list, did you install anything recently or perform a update of some third party software? Uninstall it.

I attempted to download iTunes match w/o success. Step 1 was fine. Step 2 gets stalled and will not move beyond 80%... Any suggestions for a solution? Why is iTunes stalling on step 2?

I found a solution in case your MATCH is still buggy...
JUST BOOT YOUR MAC HOLDING THE SHIFT KEY (until you see a progress bar).
Then in itunes disable and re-enable iTunes Match.
It should rescan all your library and eventually works.
At the end just reboot your Mac normally.

After resisting an upgrade for the longest time, I had to purchase one to support my new iPhone 4, as my old version would not upgrade my iTunes. Now I cannot get the system to install. It 'stalls' and will not continue. I have tried 3 times [the definition of insanity: repeating the same behavior expecting different results] and each time I had to hard boot to even get the disk to pop out. Help!

Does this involve iPhoto in some way? If so, try using the Force Quit command. It's under the Apple Menu.

My wifi is on and when it tries to find a wifi connection, the gray little circle just keeps spinning and will not detect our home wifi. I have tried to search for it and connect to it manually, but it will not search for the network name. I'm hoping I don't need a new phone so please help.

Why does my Firefox say my java applet is corruped and will,not download for my game
I play a lot of games on POGO and they tell me that I have to have JAVA and Mozilla Fire Fox for my browser. I have 1 game that I get kicked off of each time I try to play it. I get a notice telling me that my browser says my applet from Java is corrupted and will not download. I have done everything they suggest and nothing works. Mozilla seems to be a terriable choice for me as a browser I have a lot of ppproblems with them getting me to my web pages.. help!!

However, any bookmarks, saved passwords, etc. that you did not sync with Weave or another solution that backs up your settings to some place on the web would need to be rescued from your old computer.

IPhoto loads but stalls and will not show photos. With Yosemite
After upgrading to Yosemite recently suddenly iPhoto loads, shows list of albums but will not open albums, just get that whirly thing forever.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Ipod "corrupted" and will not restore following logging on to itunes
Please please help!! I have recently bought 2 ipod classic's (120GB). I have previously had MP3 players and all of my music has been in either wma or mp3 format on the computer (through windows media). i have managed to convert all 500+ albums over to itunes but my ipod is now apparently corrupted "code 1439". I have tried everything on the apple website and it will not restore to factory settings. Th ipod itself is saying 0KB free even though there is nothing on it. I tried to download music from itunes and it got to three albums and then crashed. This is my second ipod, having sent the previous one back to the retailer. If anybody can help then it will be greatly appreciated. Computer runs on windows XP pro, Norton 360 installed, and all of my music is still in Windows media as well.

Sometimes when I log into family locator it says session timed out and signs you out? Than it makes you wait 24 hours or longer to log back in.

Are you signed into the Family Locator site as the Account Owner or Account Manager? The Family Locator app is also available on select mobile devices. Open the app store (e.g., Google Play , App Store , etc.) on your device and search for Verizon Family Locator. If the app appears in the search results, your device is compatible and you can download the app. This may be a great alternative to the Web Site. Verify Disk Permissions stalls and will not finish
I noticed a little slow-down in performance lately, so I tried to repair the disk permissions. I attempted to verify first, but the process gets to the very end of the status bar and stalls. This is the last text displayed in the window whe the stall occurs: "Permissions differ on ./usr/share/man/man1/less.1, should be -rw-r--r-- , they are -r--r--r--"
I stopped verification and went straight to repair, but that also stalled at some point.
Any ideas?

Your device (ID=8723) is not covered by the FAQ, so I would be interested in what model scanner you have so that I can add it. However, I doubt this is causing your problem.
In the Console application you can have several windows open at once. You'll find the system log (and others) listed on the File menu (it will open a new window). You can aslo click on the "Logs" icon to see more. A good idea is to have both a Console.log window and a system.log window when you are trying something out, since some messages go to one, others to the second, and occasionally to both.
If you look at kmosx: Spurious Permissions errors in 10.2 you'll see your messages listed toward the end. As Rich said, if you see these you have very nearly finished. Incidentally, why are you bothering with "Verify Permissions"? There's no point doing that for most users, just go straight to "Repair Permissions". -
