FaceTime volume cutting out mid-conversation

In the middle of using FaceTime I all of a sudden can't hear the person I'm speaking with. They can hear me but I can't hear them. It's almost as if they've pressed mute but this isn't the case. This has happened with multiple people. Any advice? Thanks

Dont make calls in low cell signal zones of more than 5 minutes,
Switch off the Spotlight Search options under the General Settings,
Switch off wifi, 3G, bluetooth before making a call,
kill all "multi-tasking" apps before talking to anyone.
Jailbreak using the web-based option if you have not installed iOS4.02.

IPhone 3GS keeps cutting out mid conversation - anyone else?

I got my first iPhone around four months back. No one could hear me on the first handset, so I returned it. I couldn't hear anyone with the second handset, so returned that. The third one worked like a dream...until...the 4.0 upgrade came along.
Now it cuts out mid conversation and reboots itself, sometimes after two minutes, sometimes after five. If I'm lucky I can hit 10 minutes before it crashes.
I've got my forth handset arriving next Wednesday, but as a business user I find it ridiculous that Apple have created such a rubbish product. Buck your ideas up Apple! We pay a fortune for your products in the UK, and your reputation is getting badly damaged by your shoddy phones.
Anyone else having the same issues with your iPhone?

My iphone5s cuts off mid conversation

My iphone 5s cuts off whilst I am on calls. signal and battery are both fine. Have updated to latest IOS. Any ideas? thanks

thanks, nope its not the case. But thanks for the suggestion. Phone will just cut out mid conversation - no change to how the phone is being held. Light detector seems to be functioning properly too. It happens during the conversation , not at the begining, so don't think it has been that. I have tried a hard reset and the toggling between airplane mode that I read about - doesn't seem to help

Iphone 5 cutting out mid-call

I have had problems with my 5 cutting out mid-call. It's happened several times with different callers, which makes me think it's my phone. It gives me the 'call failed' screen. There is no apparent reason for it - no signal drop, for instance - and so I wondered if this is a common problem or whether I have a duff phone and need to return it. Thoughts?

Why does my facetime audio cut out?

When I am facetiming with mac laptops running snow leapord after a period of time, the audio cuts out.
What causes this and how to prevent it? It is very annoying.
They can hear me but the audio from them is mute.

If the iPod plays fine after you start the car, then most likely its fine and normal. If it doesn't, try contacting your dealer.

Ear phone cuts out during conversation, starts playing music

My new iPhone 4 S GSM-GBR earphone cuts out during my conversation and music starts to play, the conversation may or may not start again.
I borrowed a friends earphone and don't have any problems.
Is the earphone faulty?

This issue has been happening to me as well in the OKC area. Started about 2 weeks ago, have had apple send a new iPhone and problem persisted. AT&T claims it's not a network issue but almost everyone I know that has an iPhone in this area is having the EXACT same problem.... incoming audio cuts out after being on the call. I was told by AT&T that my mic or speaker was probably going out and when I asked them if that was the case for everyone else experiencing the problem their answer was yes ... no wonder we have such great service from this carrier! UUGGHHH!!! Obviously, since it's happening on numerous iPhones, is replicated on a brand new iphone, it's not a hardware issue and must be a network issue.

Facetime audio cuts out on iPhone 4S and iPad2 after iOS6 update

I've used Facetime on my iPad2 and iPhones for years. I updated to iOS6 and now I have the incoming audio drop out, especially when the other person starts to talk after a delay. Are there new settings or something I need to do. It really detracts from the generally good Facetime experiences I've had in the past.

Volume cuts out for split second and then comes back very low

I have an old Ipod Classic that I listen to on my Bose docking station. Every now and then the sound cuts out for a split second and then continues playing only it's too low to really hear so I have to turn the volume back up.
It did this twice today when I was listening to.
It was doing this every now and then a few months back and then stopped.
Has anyone had this problem and know what could be causing it to happen?

Sounds like something got corrupted during your upgrade.
I would restore from a last known good backup if I were you.
If that doesn't work I would set the phone up as new and re-install all of your apps and re-sync your music again.

Audio volume cuts out voice when bass hits.

i have a hp 2000 an i listen to music some songs the vocals cut out when the bass hits but not others. are the files currupt or what? how can i fix this?

I understand you are having an issue with the sound on your HP 2000 Notebook. Here is a fix you could try.
1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
2. Select Playback devices
3. Right click Speakers
4. Enable it and set as Default
5. Click Apply/Ok

IPhone 6 volume cuts out while watching videos

I Am not entirely sure when It started but it's pretty much been since I got my phone. I will be watching a video on my phone and suddenly the volume goes out and then very slowly gets back to original volume. Very frustrating when a 1/4 into the video it just goes quiet. I miss important things sometimes because of it. has anyone else had his problem or is there any sort of fix for this?

try check your video player's settings. if that dosen't help, the worst thing you could do is to change auto-lock to "never" in phone's settings -> general.

6234 Cutting out mid call

Hi,
I have a Nokia 6234 which is a couple of years old and it has begun to cut out during calls. When it cuts out the line goes dead, the screen goes completely white for about 10 seconds, then the usual screen returns but is frozen for about 10 seconds then the phone is OK. This can happen a number of times in one call
It isn't related to battery strength as it will do it irrespective of battery level.
Any ideas on why this happens?

Why does my volume cut out on my ipad 2?

The volume on my ipad 2 doesn't always work. When it stops the volume controls disappear .No matter what app im on (Netflix, YouTube, etc) the volume bar disappears on the app and when pressing the side volume buttons the volume bar either doesn't show up or says side effects instead of volume. Is there a solution to this problem?

The iPhone article linked below provides a lot of great troubleshooting steps that will resolve most audio issues on iOS devices, like the iPad sound issue that you described.

Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.

E55 turns off mid conversation?

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry if this issue has been posted lready, but I haven't had any luck finding it.
I just got the Nokia E55 a few weeks ago, and I've noticed that when I've been on the phone for over 5 minutes, sometimes it will just shut off, then turn back on. SOmetimes when it turns off it won't even turn itself back on.
What happens is it hangs up on the caller, the screen freezes for a second, goes white, and then restarts very very slowly (at one point it took me 7 minutes to restart it because after every time it would turn itself off again).
This is very irritating. especially when it takes so long to restart and this happens pretty much during every call over 5-10 minutes.
Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution?

Mic cutting out in SKYPE.

This is frustrating me to the point where I am making a forum post. I have had several mics in the past, all with the same problem. Currently using the logitech G930. When I talk in skype, my mic cuts out mid sentence, sometimes to the point where people can't understand me at all.
I know it is skype, because if i fraps a skype call and play it back (being windows sound is recorded, not skype), there is no cutting out; even though you can hear my friends clearly saying "You're cutting out, I can't hear you"
Please help me
