Facetime w/Multiple iPAD(s)

How is it possible to sync multiple iPad(s)/iPhone(s) and use Facetime or can you not sync all your purchased items and also utilize Facetime between each other?

You can use one Apple ID on both devices in order to share purchased content.
You can also use one Apple ID in order to setup FaceTime on both iPads. But you will have to add another email address and remove the Apple ID email address as the "You can be reached at address" on one of the iPads.
Set up FaceTime on both devices with your Apple ID. Apple will verify the email address on both devices.
On one of the iPads  - go to Settings>FaceTime>You can be reached for video calls at>Add another email address.
Add a working email address in the next window. Create a new email address with Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail or whoever you want to use - if you dont have another email address to use.
Apple will verify this email address but you have to go the inbox of this email address to receive the verification email from Apple.
Follow the instructions in that email in order to finish the verification process.
Go back to Settings>FaceTime>You can be reached for Video calls at>and remove the Apple ID email address from that iPad
You have now setup FaceTime on both devices using the same Apple ID  - but you removed the Apple ID address as the email address that you are using for FaceTime on one of the iPads. You can keep the Apple ID email address on the other iPad for the FaceTime contact email address.
You can still use the Apple ID in order to share purchased content on both iPads.
I set up FaceTime on three iDevices using the same Apple ID - but I added other email addresses on the other two device just like I described here and it works just fine.

  • Facetime on multiple devices with same Apple ID?

Hi...we have an iPad 1, iPhone 4S, iPod touch from 2010 and new iPod Touch yesterday.
I have not set up the new iPod Touch yet...but all the other devices are using the same Apple ID so I can buy apps and allow all my devices to get the apps installed for free.  Great.
How can I set up my new iPod Touch to use the same Apple ID and also do Facetime?  If I use the same Apple ID I would think that my other devices would start to ring when I try to Facetime.  No?
If you know how to do this, can you please reply and give exact steps?
    Thanks so much in advance.
    -Eric

@dutra - Your suggestion worked like a charm. I have two options setup under my daughter's name in Facetime: Touch and iPAd. All I need to do is choose which I want to call. Easy-peasy.

You are good to go. Repeat same steps for your stepdaughter's device.
If either girl has multiple devices you want to Facetime, follow steps 1 and 2, and in the email field click on Add Another Email and enter - [email protected] - then go back and delete orignal email entered. Do same for second device - [email protected], remembering to delete orginal email here, too.
On your device go to Facetime and edit contact - it prolly shows HOME / WORK / OTHER, click on it and choose CUSTOM, name it iPod, then enter the NEW email "[email protected]" and do same for second device, customizing the field to read iPad, or whatever you choose... Now you should have two options to choose from for contacting Girl 1. Repeat for Girl 2.
Hope this works for you, it worked out splendidly for me.

  • Facetime with multiple students

Does anyone know how I can set up the iPDADS on a cart so multiple students can Facetime with multiple students at another school at the same time?

    Ge0ph wrote:
If I have FaceTime on my Mac Book Pro, iPhone and iPad and someone makes a FaceTime call to me, can I take the call on any of those devices?
    iPhones: No
Macs, iPods touch (4Gen), and iPads: Yes
In order to be able to answer a call on multiple devices, each device must have identical FaceTime "Caller iD" addresses. iPhones identifiers are unique, not identical, so each FaceTime call to an iPhone is unique to that one device.
Because iPhone uses its unique phone number as its address while your other devices use working email addresses (Macs and iPods cannot have a "phone number"), iPhones cannot be addressed along with any other devices. Nobody but the one iPhone will receive a FaceTime invitation made to its unique number.
You can use identical information on as many Macs, iPods touch (4Gen), and iPads as you like. A FaceTime invitation to that "Caller iD" can be answered on any of them that are powered up and configured to have FaceTime on and working.
If you want to be able to call from one of your Macs, iPods touch (4Gen), and iPads to another, the two devices must have different "Caller iD". Otherwise, it would be like trying to call one extension telephone from another on the same line. It does not work.
If they are all in front of me can I choose what device I want to take the call on?
    Yes.

  • I can't activate FaceTime on my iPad.

I can't activate FaceTime on my iPad. Keep getting activation error "your user name/password is incorrect" even though both are correct and I'm using them to login to iTune and this support community even after i reset it to check!!
The iPad iOS is 6.0.1 and I'm in Canada so no country/region restriction. I've checked the date and time settings as mentioned on some support pages and restarted my iPad but still nothing.
I never used FaceTime before so all help is appreciated. Thanks!

  • How can I use multiple ipad's on one account without sharing individuals personal email accounts?

Is it possible to have multiple ipads on one account and share info, but also allow the individual users to have personal email that is not seen on the other ipad's? We have all ipads on same icloud account because we all need to see the same ical. It seems like that's the problem. If it IS related to icloud then if we have separate icloud accounts, how would we share the main ical otherwise? Sharing the ical is very important for this business so everyone can access the daily schedule. Of course each user still wants to have private email.
    Hope this wasn't too confusing!
    Thanks!
    Doreen

you could set up the main icloud itunes acount for ical and not have in setup on the devices
and share the calandar with the other itunes accounts on the devices
or only have it on one device
devices have the users indervidual itunes icloud setup
they should be able to access the shared "main" itunes icloud ical account once it's shared

if the devices are company owned you could go futher and setup find my iphone on the main itunes account
and not on the user icloud accounts

  • Problem with facetime in my ipad mini

When using Facetime on my ipad mini,  sometimes the screen will turn black then an apple logo will appear, looks like it reset. I already tried resetting my ipad but still the same.

Are you trying to use the phone in Bahrain with a supported carrier there? I suspect not. If you try to use this phone outside of Bahrain, you won't have FaceTime. This is done to prevent folks from simply crossing the border to purchase iPhones in Bahrain...FaceTime is banned in Saudi Arabia & the UAE. Sorry, but you'll only have FaceTime on that phone while using it in Bahrain on a supported carrier's network there.
