FaceTime will not connect (but rings) for parental controlled user.

I have a parental controlled user setup on a brand new mac mini running Lion. When initiating or receiving a FaceTime call as the parental controlled user, the connection rings, but after trying to connect the call fails. When the mac mini user is a normal user (not parental controlled), it works fine. The parental controlled user has their own apple id / email address. Under the parental controls it is set to unlimited web access.
Any help here would be great.
Thanks,
David.

  • I have an ipod classic original and it will not connect to itunes for me to sync new music

i have an ipod classic original and it will not connect to itunes for me to sync new music

The first two generations of iPod (that used a standard 6-pin Firewire cable) don't work with Windows. There was a workaound through MusicMatch for the second-gen, but I have no idea if that software is still available, or even if it will install on a modern copmputer (Windows ME, 2000 and XP era).
If instead of original, you mean the first model that got labelled as "classic," with a dock connector, if you describe exactly what appears on both the iPod and the PC screen when you plug it in, somebody might be able to help you. My first recommendations would be to (1)try a different USB cable, to see if that's the problem, and then (2) try synching with a different computer, to see if your PC is the problem. If neither of those result in success, then the community here can help you to try troubleshooting the iPod itself.

  • ITunes will not connect but Internet does

iTunes will not connect or load no matter how long I wait but the Internet will, so I know it's not a wi-fi issue. Is the server down?

You could try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores if the iPad is on iOS 6) and then logging back in and see if that makes any difference.
If it doesn't fix it then you could try disconnecting from your network and reconnecting to it, and/or a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • After downloading last update itunes and safari will not connect but mozilla and internet explorer does running windows vista

Itunes and safari will not connect after installing the last update, but mozilla and internet explorer does.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

You must find out where the problem is before you can determine what to fix.
    (1) Her friends need to read http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4319 and test with others to see if they can FaceTime with anybody or if their problem is ONLY with your daughter.
    (2) Your daughter can go to at least one other wi-fi hotspot(s) to see if she can still FaceTime to your Mac at home.
    (3) Your daughter can try FaceTime with her friends from the other wi-fi hotspot(s).

  • TS3367 my facetime will not connect it just rings without connecting

Facetime not connecting since upgrading to ios7

If you read TS3367 you would have noticed it said
With FaceTime, you can participate in video calls with another FaceTime user over a Wi-Fi network connection or a cellular data connection. This article outlines the system requirements for FaceTime and provides basic troubleshooting steps to resolve FaceTime activation and usage issues.
It can work with cellular if the carrier provides for it

  • Facetime will not connect

We have two iPhone 4's and two iPod Touch 4th Gen in our household. Can't seem to make a connection on Facetime when initated from one iPod Touch to the other. Going the opposite direction, it works fine and will connect for a video chat. FaceTime to either iPhone 4 works fine from both iPod Touch devices.

i have an ipod touch 4g, i tried to call an iphone4 via facetime, it rings on the iphone4 (the connect button appears on the screen), you click on the connect, but then nothing. the ipod touch 4g is still ringing as if it hasn't connected yet. Any idea what is going on? Tried to do the reverse using the iPhone 4 to call the ipod touch and it doesn't even ring. Help! both have the 4.1 software.

  • IPhone 6 iMessage and FaceTime will not connect.

I just upgraded to the iPhone 6 from a 5 and now I can't use iMessage or FaceTime.  I checked all of the troubleshooting tips and actually went through all just to make sure it's not something I'm doing.  I still get a connection error on iMessage when I try to connect using my Apple ID and password.  The message I get is "Could Not Sign In.  Please check your network connection and try again".  This continues to happen for many hours.  I reset the network connection, made sure my phone number was in the right place on the phone, checked my credit card on the Apple ID, etc.  Nothing works.  Any help out there?

I have the same problem with my iPhone 6. It seems that my wifi connection will go down after using iMessage, Facetime or other apps. However if I go to settings to check my wifi connection, it shows connection, but there is no internet connection. I have tested my wifi connection with other devices, and they are running perfectly.
I think there is still a bug in the iOS 8.0.2 concerning the WiFi.

  • FaceTime will not connect no matter how I try to fix the situation.

After numerous attempts to resolve the problem FaceTime refuses to connect. Both the recipient and I are connected to WiFi networks that work fine, I have tried restarting my phone multiple times, disabling FaceTime and re-enabling it, restarting my router, and calling the recipient then attempting to enable FaceTime and all that occurs is it rings constanly until it shows a message saying it can not connect. Neither I nor the recipient receive any notification when the other is attempting to call. Any ideas what the problem is and any suggestions of how to fix it? Thanks.

Hi, I have the same problem here too.. any solution? Is it because I'm using mac for FT? I tried using FT between Ipad and Ipod touch and it was fine.

  • Facetime will not connect - Anyone spoke to Apple regarding the facetime issue fix

Day four and still not able to connect with Facetime. Has anyone spoke to Apple regarding the status of the fix?

No...actually I have an iPad Air and my mother has an iPad 2.  I cannot connect to her on Facebook.  I did not catch what device it was showing when I started the discussion.  The problem started on Thursday and when you call her iPad 2, it rings and tries to connect but NO luck.  She has iOS 6 on her device.  It's as if Apple flipped a switch and stopped allowing some iOS devices to connect via Facetime.  I can connect with other iOS devices with my iPad Air.

  • TS3367 Mac to Mac facetime will not work, but Mac to phone will...???

I cannot make a facetime call from my mac to another mac.  The following scenarios have worked however:
    My Mac to another phone
    My Mac to an ipad
My phone to another phone and ipad
My ipad to another phone and ipad
Another persons phone to my phone
Another persons Mac to my phone
Basically every possible combination of facetime calls have been made, except for the Mac to Mac call.  Now I have tried shutting my phone off before the other person called me and when they then proceeded to call me on thier end it said that the call could not be completed.  I have used different contacts such as the phone number and various email addresses and for some reason the Mac to Mac call will never work.  Any insight?

    Hello DFanelli,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with FaceTime on your Mac.  You have taken some great steps to isolate the issue.
I'm not sure if you have tried all the steps in the section titled "Troubleshooting FaceTime for Mac" in the following article, but I recommend continuing with those steps if you have not yet tried them:
