Facetime will not open or load properly

I have downloaded Facetime onto my IMac, and it will not open correctly, just shows the black screen with camera off. At times will say there is an internal error and ask me to quit and relaunch. Cannot access preferences. Any ideas? It works fine on my Macbook and my itouch.

I'm facing the same kind of trouble. Have been working on a short iMovie (about 3 min.) where I've been using cutaway to insert images. Now iMovie won't entirely load, I can't select Projects or Events. The movie I was working on is present in the editor and I can play it by pressing the space bar, but otherwise can't be controlled.
Odd thing, the three round buttons (stop, minimize and maximize) don't show anything when I run my mouse over them. I've restarted the machine, no change.
Is there an issue in "linking" still images into iMovie projects? Do those images get copied into the movie or is iMovie simply referencing their locations on my drive?
Should I consider reinstalling iMovie? If I did that would it destroy the Projects I've created?

Project will not open or load properly

So, for the past few weeks I've been putting together a wedding commemorative movie for my friend. One random day, I tried to open the project and it wouldn't completely load. There was no "scroll bar" even though the movie would play. And, I could not click on any icons (title, transitions, inspector, etc); I can't even close out iMovie using the small red "x" when this project is open. Other projects still open and play properly, just not this one.
I've made plenty of movies with iMovie in the past. This one is the first on iMovie '09 and I was loving the new features up until this point.
p.s. I've deleted the .plist already....

FACETIME WILL NOT OPEN

When I click on the facetime program, the screen will not open and I get a message that the camera is not funtioning and restarting the computer may help. I have restarted as well as, shut down and started back up.

Running 'Activity Monitor' would show you a list of process. If you select 'All Processes' as shown and click on the ''%CPU" column's title bar so the arrow points down as shown as well, then you'll see right on the top of the list all of the processes that are making your computer slow.
Then, selecting the row that lists the program and clicking over the 'Quit Process' icon will terminate the program.
If clicking 'Quit Process' prompts you for an administrator id and password, then that means that the program was started by another 'User' or owner such like another person signed on in a separate account. If you are the owner of the computer in question, then your user id and password 'IS' your administrator's id and password. (ex. WindowServer is highlighted below before 'Quit Process' is clicked).
If you are running Lion, then please verify the Facetime's version installed to be the one shown below in the picture;

ITunes Install will not open or load =(

Hi
I just bought new laptop
Downloaded the iTunes file to install
The 'run' box come up saying
"open file - security warning, The punlisher could not be verified, Are you sure you want to run this software"
I select 'RUN'
then a little loading bar flashes on screen and it stops and disapears
I have deleted and reinstalled about 5 times now.
Disabled my security and everything.
Even DELL helpdesk linked to my computer and couldnt work it out.
Can any 1 help?
Im trying to log it with the Helpdesk For apple but the page wont load properly of me

Logic opens but projects will not open or load

Logic 9.1.8 and Mountain Lion 10.8.2
Logic will open -
Prompts me to create a new project... when I create a new project - logic remains open and doesnt hang - but the UI will not come up...
If I try to exit logic it asks me if I want to save my project...
I have deleted com.plist files... still nothing
Thoughts?

Create a new project and then press cmd + 1 and see what happens..
Press 1 (without the command key) if Cmd + 1 doesn't do anything...

Facetime will not open, just hangs & requires force quit.

I am unable to get Facetime to open at all on my Macbook Pro. The icon for Facetime bounces when clicked, but the program never opens, it just hangs. I have confirmed the time setting is correctly configured, the messaging application does in fact work properly, I have logged out and back in from the message app, I have restarted the machine, I have ensured I have all of the latest software updates. Facetime does in fact work both from my Iphone and Ipad, so I know the location isn't the issue. I thought the problem was a glitch in the previous version of OSX and when Yosemite came out my hope was that it would patch whatever the problem is, but alas, that has not been the case. I have even tried paying and downloading Facetime from the App store, but it gives me a message that the installed version is newer and does not allow me to download. Would appreciate any insight into what may be causing this issue and how I may resolve it. BTW, Skype video chat works fine. Thanks.

Back up all data.
Quit FaceTime if it’s running. Force quit if necessary. After each of the following steps, log out or restart the computer, then test FaceTime. If the problem isn't resolved, quit again and go on to the next step.
Step 1
Make sure you know the ID and password you use with FaceTime. Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Use the search box in the toolbar of the Keychain Access window to find and delete all items with "facetime" or "com.apple.idms" in the name.
Step 2
Hold down the option key and select
          Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Move the following items from the Library folder to the Trash (some may not exist):
          Containers/com.apple.FaceTime
          Containers/com.apple.soagent
          IdentityServices
Leave the Library folder open.
Step 3
In the Preferences subfolder, there may be several files having names that begin with one of the following strings:
          com.apple.facetime.bag.plist
          com.apple.FaceTime.plist
          com.apple.ids
          com.apple.imagent
          com.apple.imservice.FaceTime
          com.apple.imservice.ids.FaceTime
Move them all to the Trash.
Also in the Preferences folder, there is a subfolder named "ByHost". Open it and do the same thing.

Facetime will not open... help?

Hi. As of 3 days ago my facetime suddely wont load. clcik the icon in the bottom tray and ... nothing. Tried closing it, rebooting etc etc. I'm running latest version of OSX. Anyone had this problem?

Safe Mode will sometimes go a little slow...
Use the spotlight search to find Disk Utility quickly
Verify Disk and Repair Disk Permissions in Disk Utility.
Any Luck?

Updated my Mac to Yosemite now my messages and FaceTime will not open due to X86-64 (Native)

It says check with the developer to make sure Messages works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X.

LiveType will not open or load

I just installed LiveType 1.2. I was so excited at the prospect of using it. big let down..... when i try to open it all i get is the screen that says live type and my little beach ball spins and spins and spins and the program never opens. what could be the problem? I have restarted my computer and still not luck. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. i was really looking forward to "playing" with this program

I haven't used v4.5 in years. If it has "stopped working" you are left facing a reinstall of the software form the original disks.
You must understand your thread raises moer questions than I can answer. You could have acquired LT1.2 on its own but it's part of the larger FCP package and should have been installed with the rest of the 4.5 or 5.0 setup. I'd start looking for a fellow student who has a working rig. You could waste several days trying to reinstall.

Facetime will not open on macbook

Just downloaded Facetime on my macbook which is an older model but with updated software (Lion Mac OS X 10.6.8). Have all the required hardware so far as I can tell. When I click the icon for FaceTime, I get a message: "An internal FaceTime error occurred: There was a problem with FaceTime. You need to quit and open FaceTime again." There is a "Quit" button, which I click and which I assume quits the application. But every time I click the icon the same message occurs, whether I start it from the dock or from the Applications folder. No associated menus open, either. Any thoughts?

Associate your mobile number with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
and on the iPhone:
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Project will not open. blank screen after load

I have a pretty major issue, I just finished a rough cut of a feature film and I decided to change my hard drive drive letters so they were more organized. Now premiere pro 2014 (up to date version) will not open the project properly.
The file loads then it says looking for media then that goes away and it sits at a blank screen forever.

The Music app on my ipod touch will not open?

The Music app on my ipod touch will not open, it loads but the sceen is always blank and then closes the music app and goes back to my list of apps.. what do i do? any ideas?

I have the same problem since a couple days ago, I will try to refrain from swearing or slagging on Apple, got a few questions for you, Gerbrandt, or anyone else who's had this problem and worked around it by means of a 3rd party app:
1-Since using panamp have you used your ipod in any docks successfully? (ex: I have a JVC car deck, a Klipsch dock and the Yamaha dock for my home theatre, all will be worthless if I can't resurrect my iPod as a music player)
2-Has using panamp done anything to help the original Apple music app to work or has it stayed dead?
3-Do you have any smart playlists? Like others with the 64GB model I have many many songs (that's the WHOLE point of the large capacity iPod, isn't it?) and I found that the more smart playlists I had the worse the apple music app behaved back when it was still working.
I'll check out panamp tonight, hopefully that will stop me from curb-stomping my iPod.
Anyone know whether an Apple "genius" has access to any sort of debugging facilities that would make it worth visiting the store for help on this matter? (ex: if they have root access to check for corrupt song database, or debug logs of some sort, or can do any direct manipulation of commands over the dock connector).
It sure would be nice to know why this happens, I have about 14,000 songs locked in iTunes now and many hours of time invested in ripping my CD collection but I don't want to buy a replacement iPod only to have this happen to it too. It's annoying enough the 4 hours it takes to resynch after a system restore (which in the end did nothing to resolve the original issue).

Firefox will not open Gmail, or load all the data on the google tab and will not load Outlook lite on a webpage correctly.

In the last couple of days when I start Firefox it will not properly load the Google home page I set up. It will not load the calendar or Date and Time. When I try to open gmail it will not open. I use Internet mail using outlook lite and it does not open properly formatted. All of these problems did not exist until two days ago. I have even gone back and did a system restore 8 days ago to see if that would correct the problem.
