FaceTime with iOS7

Dear iExperts ! Greetings !!
i have updated my iphone 4 to ios 7 yesterday.
i dont use facetime. i have disabled the facetime function in settings. but still it is showing the facetime icon on my home screen with other icons.
in iOS 6 also i had the facetime disabled and the icon was also not there on my homescreen.
Does the icon on my home screen means the facetime is active ? and if so, how to disable it ?
i am concerned because my carrier (Vodafone IN) charges me for facetime.

Go to Settings > Messages > and check the appropriate contact details and then back-out one screen and go to Facetime and do the same.
If that doesn't work - hold down your home button and then press the lock button on top of the phone and hold for about 10 seconds or until the white Apple logo appears. This will reset your phone (but you will not lose anything).

settings- general- reset - reset all settings
now reconnect to wifi
settings - wifi- click network name - enter password - join
if issue persists backup info and restore via itunes

No Facetime calls with iOS7 - call has ended!

Hi guys,
since I've updated my iphone 5 to iOS7, I can't call my girl-friend or many other people on facetime. My girlfriend for example has an iphone 4 with iOS 6.1.4. Facetime tries to connect, but instead of establishing the call, the call ends.
I tried everything so far, clearing the network settings, erasing all data/ settings and re-install iOS7. On top several re-registrations of facetime.
iMessage is working and I succeeded to call a colleague on his 4S with iOS7.
I'm not sure if this is a bug or if there is another reason. Problem occurs on wifi and 3G.
Anybody's got an idea, please tell me.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you did a good job editing your Apple ID and primary email address, but you didn’t sign out of iCloud on your iOS device before hand. What you may need to do in this situation is go back to the Apple ID website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the email address that is signed in with iCloud (there is no need to verify the account after editing it back to the old account, just changing it back is enough). Once your Apple ID is back to the original account, delete the iCloud account from the iOS device and be sure to keep all info on the device when prompted. After you delete the iCloud account, go back to the website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the new address. Once it is back to the account you would like, you can sign into the iCloud on the iOS device with that new account and merge all of the data when prompted. Please use the following article as a reference.

Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Go to Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap “Keep on My [Device]” or “Delete from My [Device].” In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

IPhone with iOS7 is no longer detected in iCloud... "you must be signed into iOS8 to see devices"

I have an iPhone with iOS7, but the device is no longer detected in iCloud. iCloud is set up on my device, it used to detect it... now it says "you must be signed into iOS8 to see devices." Is there a way to detect an iPhone with iOS7 without upgrade?
Simple solution may be to upgrade iOS, but I just lost my phone, and am trying to use 'find my iPhone' feature but my iPhone is not even recognized as a device I own in the iCloud. What about the backup of everything I have on my iPhone that was supposed to be stored in the iCloud?? Please help!

(By the way, I should have pointed out in my earlier posting that I'm running OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 on my Mac). I Just installed latest Yosemite update while my iPhone was switched off, and when my Mac restarted, the 'iPhone Cellular Calls' checkbox in the FaceTime preferences was checked and the problem was therefore solved. Switched on my iPhone, still fine. Relief.

Bad connection using facetime with ios 7

when i use facetime its really bad connection keeps feezing since updating to ios 7 on my ipad mini was never like this before i have fibre broadband so its not my internet as that is super fast i have also noticed that the new update is very slow and sluggish when using certain features has anyone else experienced this

I know you can't restore a backup with ios7 and Find My Ipad turned on. I would first set it to Never update device, an don't restore backup and see if that will allow you apply the profile. If that doesn't work. I'd do a complete wipe of the device, prepare it again and then try to install the profile.

I would try this since Apple TV is built to allow multiple Apple Ids
On you Apple TV
General > Settings >Itunes Store > Add New Account (put yours in here)
Then Switch account to your Apple Id

It is really annoying as sometimes the phone doesn't respond to attempts to end the call before it connects to the number. I then have to explain that it was my phone and not me, I look like an idiot, which I don't really need any extra help with!! Does anyone have any ideas? I don't want to stop missed call from showing in the locked screen but it might be associated with the failed calls and therefore be the only resolution

I have had the same issue which was driving me mad but think I have just found a way around it. In iOS 7 if you swipe up on the lock screen to access quick settings and go into timer then click the home button you get into the phone without calling the person back. Not a great 'fix' but hope it works for you. Come on Apple this isn't good enough, fix this bug otherwise you will lose your customers.
