Is your iPhone not showing up in iTunes sidebar, or is iTunes not just launching automatically?
The things that you can check are:
    1) Launch iTunes manually
    2) Restart or reset your iPhone (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3281)
    3) Check your cable including disconnecting and reconnecting it on bot the phone end and the computer USB end.
    4) Reboot your computer
    5) As a last resort, take it to the Apple Store so they can check the hardware

  • My FaceTime wont connect, it rings and when the other person answered it says connecting then suddenly ends the connection like I hung up

My FaceTime wont connect. When I dial someone and they pick up, it says connecting for a few seconds then says connection ended although neither myself or the other person disconnected the call

Judging by all the posts on the forum, there seems to be an issue at Apple's end, although they have made no announcement on their status page. Some users have reported that Apple is aware of the issue.

  • TS3367 My facetime wont connect with anyone i facetime with

I'm trying to facetime people but it just says connecting for ages and won't actually connect i have updated to the latest version and turned my ipad completely off, closed the app, signed in and out of facetime, turned facetime off and nothing helped what do i do :(

I have been having this issue for the past week. On Monday, April 14 I was able to Face Time iPad2 to iPad2, iOS 7.1 to same, no issues.  Since then, I am unable to Face time iPhone 5 to iPhone 5, or iPad to phone, to anyone (brother, deployed fiancee 6000 miles away, brother, etc.) in iPad or iPhone.
I too am incredibly frustrated as Face Time is supposed to be "THE" go to app and is failing miserably. From this forum, I'm additionally frustrated that there isn't a post (that I've seen) from Apple saying HEY ...bummer..we are ON it...so sorry.  Apple, are you on it? Anything to give us some confidence that this will be fixed ... soon?
I'm not normally so negative about things, but I hope the folks at Apple can appreciate that most of us (that I know) don't face time our next door neighbors. Face Time is our ONE way of staying close to people we love who are very far away.  When it is working, its excellent, and you, Apple, have made a great product that we've come to rely on. Please tell us what to expect, and when, so we can stop getting angry with you :-) And instead get busy finding ourselves a short term fix while you get busy and fix what's wrong.
    End rant.
p.s. "system status" monitors....pssst....hey....Face Time should not be GREEN!!!

  • Facetime wont connect after IOS6 install

    HI All,
My Facetime has stopped working since i installed ios6. All was fine before but now you call, it says connecting and that is where it stays. I have tried turning on and off, rebooting routers etc etc. Nothing works.
At least 5 of my friends who also use are having the same problems.
What has happened, and how can it be fixed??

Hi Folks, Im glad to say I have not yet downloaded the crap update to my MacPro, and do not intend to. My IPad which is what I used all the time is now defunked for Face time because of update, what gets me is Apple knew they had a problem???? but like Windows and Microsoft they just decided to say nothing and let everyone get affected in the same way? "well done microsoft" SORRY I meant APPLE???? not much of a difference at the moment is there.....
If you try the support line even they just tell you there is a problem with "WiFi connection" which is why there is problems? RUBBISH, Listen apple, get it sorted we all paid a fortune for our pads / mac/ etc,
If I wanted to be frustrated and angreeeeee all the time using my computer equipment I could of stayed with microsoft and saved a bloody fortune.
SORT IT......... AND ACTUALLY SAY SORRY TO THE THOUSANDS OF US THAT LINE THE COFFERS OF APPLE WITH MILLIONS OF POUNDS,,,,,, MUGS THAT WE ARE.

  • Macbook pro facetime wont connect

Recently purchased a 13" Macbook pro but can't connect on face time.  When I make a call (I am currently in the US - my friend is in the UK) it says 'connecting' but then rings out and says my friend is unavailable. When my friend calls me, I accept, it says it's 'connecting' but then says I missed the call. Its very frustrating becuase making facetime calls from here to there using my and my friend's iphone 5Cs works perfectly using the same Apple IDs.
Am running Mavericks 10.9.3. Have signed in wiht apple ID. Have broadband internect connection. Have tried switching Facetime off and on in preferences, resigning in, and rebooting. Have read the troubleshooting guides posted by apple on here, but nothing is fixing this issue for me. Come on apple please sort this out!
    Thanks
    Olly

  • Facetime wont connect to wifi,(error message) but all other connections to google etc okut all

I have read same problems on other forums, but most seem to be about how to reset iphone. I have tried similar actions on ipad to no avail.

  • TS4268 My facetime wont connect using either my iphone 5 or ipad any suggestions

Can anyone help my iphone or ipad is not connecting when i try to facetime ? Really appreciate your help people :) x

The issue is with Apple and not your devices, as other users are experiencing the same issue over in the iphone forum.

  • Facetime wont connect?

Hello, I just purchased my iPad 2 yesterday, and I have been experiencing problems with Facetime.  I will make a call to my mom, who also has an iPad 2.  ( Im only 14, btw, so were in the same house.)  It will ring, but then after one of us accepts it, it will say "connecting"  but it will not stop doing it.  Please help!

Some folks have discovered that changing their DNS service fixes FaceTime connection issues. The ideal way is to configure your modem/router with DNS service, but often settings in Settings/Wi-Fi on your iPad will override the router settings.
    Try either of these;
    OpenDNS
    208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220
    Google Public DNS
    8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4

    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • My iphone 3gs turned off and wont turn on or connect to itunes. its fully charged, and told me to reactivate it, but it wont connect. what do i do?

    what do i do?

I have the same problem.  My iPhone 3GS was working just fine until I upgraded the OS to 5.0.1 a couple of days ago. When it complained about SIM card, I got that replaced and still the problem persisted. I tried to activate the Phone using my Wi-Fi and that also did not work.  The phone has become unusable now.
When I contacted the CSR, he says that my phone already would have broken and that is why the upgrade did not go through which is not a fact after seeing these postings.
Apple, instead of finding a solution to this, recommend buying another equipment.  Is there a way to revert back to older OS?

  • I dropped my iphone and it wont turn on. I tried connecting it to my laptop to restore it but it wont connect. what do i do?

    help please!

If you have Apple Care, I would take it to an Apple Store. If you do not, then I would reccomend taking it to the place you bought it (Best Buy, Carrier Store, etc.)

  • Why won't my phone connect to iTunes so i can re-able it because its disabled but says it wont connect?

It says it need connected to iTunes so i tried to connect it to there but it wont  connect what do i do?

Open iTunes on you computer plug the phone into it and then try a hard reboot while connecte. To do this hold the power button and the home button down together. The phone will **** down and restart keep holding the buttons until the phone starts back up.

  • TS1363 my ipod wont connect to my laptop

when i go to connect my ipod to my laptop it wont connect what should i do to fix it?

Try plugging it in and waiting.  I have noticed that when an iPod's battery is very low, it takes some time for it to appear in iTunes and the Desktop.  Like it must have to have a minimum charge or something.
