Facetime wont sign in

I have just purchased the iphone 4S
In the settings under facetime I put in my apple id info and the error I get is "Cannot sign in, please check your network settings and try again"
Can anyone help with this?

You don't need to enter an Apple ID to use Facetime.  Just open a contact you want to call and press the Facetime button on the bottom right of the contact and it will initaite a Facetime call to this person.  Of course, the person must have an iOS device that supports Facetime (iPhone 4/4S, etc.).

  • Facetime wont sign in?, Facetime wont sign in?

I recently bought a new macbook air (at least a week from today) and facetime and messages refuse to sign in. Each time I try to sign in to either of the apps I get the error "Could not sign in check network connection". My wifi is working just fine and I know for a fact that i am entering my log-in information in correctly. I have tried creating a test user, correcting the time and date on my computer and router, turning facetime on, and ive even called apple multipule times and had to be connected to a senior advisor who couldnt even help me. Im getting very irritated because a new computer should not be acting this way, please help!

  • I have just downloaded FaceTime to my mac book pro, but it wont sign in?

I have just downloaded face time to  my mac book pro 10.6.8 version, but it wont sign in?

    First:
    Drive Preparation
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.

  • Ipad wont sign into app store, safari pages not loading

I bought an ipad 2 used. It wont sign into itunes store or app store and safari isnt loading anything. I am connected to a working wifi. It is signed into my icloud, and facetime. When signing into imessage it says check network connection. Then verification failed. I finally I updated it to ios 7.1.2 hoping it might fix it. still same issue. What am I missing or did i buy a problem child?

I hesitate to post again since I could be suggesting things that you already tried - like the first thing that I suggested - but I would try Resetting your router. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again. Even if every other device in the house can connect to the network, sometimes that helps.
IF that doesn't work, and if you post again, let us know what you have already tried so we are not suggesting the same things that you've already attempted.

  • My facetime wont turn on in my settings for iphone 4......also itunes wont download new update 4.3.2.....plz help

my facetime wont turn on in my settings for iphone 4......also itunes wont download new update 4.3.2.....plz help

Had exact same problem. Rang Apple support and various apple repairers. All of them said in effect, too bad, you'll have to lose everything since your last backup. It's a work phone with very important stuff on it and the latest backup was on a computer that had a virus. Convergence of crap :/
Happened to talk to a friend who said to try replacing the battery. Did that. Problem fixed. All data saved.
To all Apple support people: rather than say 'once it's in recovery mode you lose all data' try saying 'replace your battery and see if that works first'!!!!

  • Msn Messenger for Mac wont sign in after upgrade

Ive just upgraded to tiger 10.4.9. Now for some reason my msn wont sign in. I run parallels, and xp as the guest OS and msn will not sign in on the guest either. Seems to be a port issue. Anyone else experienced this, or know how to testfix it?
    Conor

The current version of Microsoft Messenger is 6.0.2, which was released on January 30th, 2007. It works fine on my computer, although sometimes it won't sign in on the first try, but the second attempt always succeeds, even after the 10.4.9 update.
It wasn't working on a friend's computer the other day. The problem turned out to be that an older version was installed at the root of the drive, which caused MSN Messenger to immediately crash after signing in every time. Deleting this older version resolved the problem.
You might also try deleting or renaming the plist files associated with MSN Messenger located in your home directory in Library/Preferences/Microsoft. Note this is NOT the Library directory at the root level of your drive, but the Library directory inside your home folder.

  • My FaceTime wont connect, it rings and when the other person answered it says connecting then suddenly ends the connection like I hung up

My FaceTime wont connect. When I dial someone and they pick up, it says connecting for a few seconds then says connection ended although neither myself or the other person disconnected the call

Judging by all the posts on the forum, there seems to be an issue at Apple's end, although they have made no announcement on their status page. Some users have reported that Apple is aware of the issue.

Hi Bowlover526.  I had a similar problem and was able to solve the issue by changing the Date & Time setting to set automatically.
From the Home screen, choose Settings→General→Date & Time.
Turn the Set Automatically option to On
Then try to log in to iMessage or Facetime. Hopefully, this will solve your issue.  Best of luck!!

  • MY FACETIME WONT TURN ON

I got My mac about 2 weeks ago and when i go to turn on my facetime it just keeps loading and loading for a long time and eventually wont turn on, and i am conected to wifi, anybody help me?

Open up your iTunes on your computer make sure you have the latest version11.1.1 and it will detect the phone to restore it.  If it does not then connect your USB cord make sure the phone is off hold down the home button if the charger comes on you will need to charge it for at least two min.  If not then continue to hold down the home button until you see a sign that wants  to connect to the USB but continue to hold it until you connect and iTunes should detect the phone in recovery mode and then you can restore

Open Facetime, click the Facetime menu and click Preferences. If you prefer keyboard shortcuts in any app, just click Command + Spacebar and this will open Preferences.

Some users may have Spotlight set up for that keyboard shortcut.
The most common keyboard shortcut application Preferences is (Command + ,).
