FaceTime works with Jawbone Icon headset

Hi,
I can confirm that the Jawbone Icon headset works with facetime.
I was surprised to see the bluetooth icon replace the mute button on the bottom left side of the screen during a call When I pressed it, it gave me a selection of sources, which included the headset.
To think i actually purchased the Bose MIE2i just for facetiming. Haha
But the use of a bluetooth headset during facetime calls really make a huge difference!

On the icon, turn it off and hold button down while sliding the power switch on. This should put it in pairing mode. Then go into your i4's bluetooth menu and give it another go. Also, Jawbone has recently updated the firmware for the Icon so you need to load it as well. I have the icon and a Jabra cruiser and both work/paired fine. You may want to try rebooting phone and retrying as well.

    (1) FaceTime cannot work with iChat.
*FaceTime ONLY works with other FaceTimes*:
     • iPhone 4 http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/facetime/
     • iPod touch Gen4 http://www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/facetime/
     • FaceTime (beta) on iNtel Mac w/OS X 10.6.4 or later http://www.apple.com/mac/facetime/
*FaceTime works with _NO OTHER_ app from Apple, Skype, or anyone else*.
    (2) You do not tell us which imac you use, so we cannot give a yes or no answer to your question about whether it is possible to use ichat *_on your mac_* to communicate with someones iPod or iPhone with facetime.
The answer to your question is yes, FaceTime is possible, but *ONLY IF* your Mac is an iNtel Mac that is using Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6.4 or later) with the FaceTime beta application software.

  • What is the iPod Model #????, that works with the Wireless Headset Adapter?

Dear Mac Support, I want to order the iPod with the head phone jack that is in the center at the top so that I can connect the wireless headset adapter. Recently I bought a new iPod and the head phone jack was on the top right corner and the wireless headset adapter will not work on that model. Can you tell the model number that I need that will work with a wireless headset. Better yet, is there a iPod that has a built in wireless head adapter?
      Mac OS X (10.4.3)

You just bought one of the new video iPods. One of the older ones that has the remote jack needed for your adapter cannot play video. If you still want one, the model numbers are:

    30gb model: M9829LL/A
    60gb model: M9830LL/A

  • Mac mini not working with logitech h130 headset's microphone

    Hi,
I have a mac mini (late 2014) model that appears to not work with my headset's microphone, my headset is a logitech h130 that works perfectly with all other devices that I have (which are not apple), please fix! ASAP

Assuming that the headset has two 3.5 mm plugs you need one of these to combine the headphone and jack into one 3.5 mm plug

  • How to make T410 combo jack working with 4 ring headset?

This has puzzled me for a while - the mic part of the combo jack does not work.
I have a headset which works properly with my Nokia E63 phone. the connector looks like
    http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:IPod_and_iPhone_audio_plugs.JPG
although I could not find electrical definition of terminal/ring for either E63 or T410/T510.
I suppose my E63 headset should work with T410 combo jack. When I plug it into the combo jack, the sound  switched from speaker to headphone but the machine is still using the intenal mic (right below the LCD screen) for input, not the mic on my headset.
Note that the internal mic is quite sensitive (default boost set to +30db) so if without careful test, one would not know that it is the internal one. (it can be tested using the Recording device property of Control Panel/Sound and tapping lightly on headset mic and internal mic and observe the signal change detected by windows).
I spent probably 3-4 hours on this single issue but to no avail (including one hour with an undertrained Atlanta support personel). I hope some of you could do a test of headset on your T410/T510 and see whether it works for you and provide me with some tips.
    ========
    T410 with integrate graphics
     Win7 pro x64
    BIOS: 1.09 (2010-01-07)
    Embedded Controller: 1.03

I figured it out.  My iPhone headphone speakers worked fine, but no microphone. These instructions for Windows 7 turned on my mic in my T410...
Control Panel > Sound  (this brings up the Sound control panel)
    Click on the Recording tab
Highlight the "External Microphone" listed and hit the Configure button
    Click "Set up Microphone"
    Select "Headset Microphone"
    Follow the steps.
You should see a screen with a sound level bar.  You should see that your microphone is now working on the level indicator.  You're good to go!

  • Does the Lumia 822 work with ANY bluetooth headset...

I've got four different Samsung bluetooth headsets, and they all work great with other phones.  I canNOT get them to work with my nokia though.  They connect fine and seem to work, but once I'm on the phone for say, 45 minutes or so, they just stop working.  The call is still connected, but its like the connection to the headset is lost.  It THINKS its still connected, but I can't hear the other party and they can't hear me.
The phone needs to be restarted in order to get it working again.  I sent the phone back to verizon, but the replacement is doing the exact same thing.

    hi mate,
the Portico update that has been announced to have rolled out to devices around the world as of last week, has addressed a lot of Bluetooth issues. you may wait for this, and contact your carrier Verizon, to see if they can give you a firmer date for when the update will be released to the public.

  • TS4268 Is there a real fix to get iMessage and FaceTime working with iOS7 on my iPad?  Tried that 8.8.8.8 and time rest thing but they don't.   Everything else works.... Says the network connection is the problem but only for these two programs.

Is there a "real fix" to get iMessage and FaceTime working?  Tried the 8.8.8.8 and time, rest thing.   Passwords and Apple ID are ok.  At log in the message says it's a network connection.
Any ideas?  Is here a fix coming from Apple?

Apps are on my iPad and worked fine with iOS 6. When iOS7 was loaded, I can no longer sign in to these two apps using my Apple ID. These apps are on my phone and work fine.  This problem is on on my iPad.

  • IPhone 4 Bluetooth will not pair with Jawbone Icon,  Jawbone 2

Just got my iPhone today and am more or less thrilled to have it. The only problem (other than the antenna issue, which the bumper fixes beautifully) is that Bluetooth will not pair with any of my Bluetooth devices. When I turn on Bluetooth on the phone and turn on the headset, iPhone says it's "searching.." and "now discoverable" but it never discovers anything, let alone pair up. The Bluetooth on my MacBook recognized the iPhone and I was able to pair them, but no luck on the Jawbones. Sounds like a JB problem, but I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem and if there's a fix via the iPhone.

  • My phone only works with speaker or headset

When I answer my my i can not hear anyone.  It only works when I use the spealer or headset.  Whats the fix?

WIth phone on and unlocked when you adjust the volume does it say Headset?  If so, it thinks the headset is still in.  Just plug in and out the headset repeadly for a bit until it realizes it is out (adjust volume with it in and out till it finally shows it is out when it really is out).

  • Facetime works with wireless security disabled, dropped otherwise

On a D-Link DIR-615 wireless router, configured as an access point.
    Security mode: WPA-Personal
    WPA mode: WPA2 Only
    Cipher type:AES
I tried inserting a 1.3 Mb file, to no avail.
I have an iPad mini with OS 8.1.2
Please let me know if more information is req'd.
To have facetime with my son and grandchildren I have change the security mode to 'none' during the session! Really? If I do not, we have about a one minute session that is dropped.
    Any ideas will be explored!
    Thanks in advance,
    Grandpa Pete

    Three answers:
1-The router is an access point as it is a 'slave' to the wired router. The wired router assigns the ip addresses and is connected to the Comcast-Arris modem.
2-Security mode options: None, WEP, WPA-Personal, WPA-Enterprise and
the password options are Auto (WPA or WPA2), WPA2 Only, WPA only. I chose the WPA2 only as some other place I'd seen something about a problem with the TKIP cipher. I'm a novice, though. What you're suggesting makes sense and I'll try to go to WPA only.
3-I tried inserting a file showing the wireless router setup page, via a screen shot. I can't even insert a half Mb file, for whatever reason. The error page says to keep it to less than 2 Mb.
-As above, the wireless device must be an access point. It's in the living room, where wireless devices are mostly used. The wired router is in one corner of the house, with the main winxp pc.
-I can't make the wireless router security mode WPA2, so I used WPA for everything and see if it works for the next facetime session. All the other wireless devices are now functional.
-I'm not understanding the third option. Is that for my tower, each wireless device?
(No, winxp is not a joke. I use it as my main pc os and have no need to replace it. I'm posting my problem in this forum because we now have an apple product, the mini iPad, and I'd sure like to use it for the facetime with the wireless security setting on during the session. So far, it's REQUIRED to turn the wireless security off to keep the facetime session longer than about 60 seconds.)
Thank you very much for your time! I really appreciate it. As a novice, routers are still mysterious to me, what with all the settings inside of them.
    Grandpa Pete
btw: my question is not solved. Not at all! I still believe I have an unsolved question. I don't know why the green box and checkmarks exist! Did I miss something?

  • Does FaceTime works with an iMac 2006 ? (intel 2Ghz Core 2 Duo with 3GB ram ?

I have an IMac 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB ram.  I have an Apple ID that is working properly for many years.  When I want to activate FaceTime, it gives me an error of ID.  I have checked my ID in iTune and it is fine.  What should I do ?
    My OS is Lion 10.7.1.

It is sometimes very peculiar to observe the side effects of some systems settings, but this would be an odd 'fix' if it were to work. Aside from anything else, the energy saver settings impact the system only when it's running since they are integral to MacOS. It's difficult to imagine how these could affect the cold-booting of the machine - though it isn't impossible of course, in as far as changing the energy saving settings might impact on parameter RAM.
However, even if it were to actually resolve this, you would need to switch back to the prior settings to make sure it remained 'fixed', since you hardly want a Mac that limits your choice of any settings that should be available to you.
And while I think, it may actually be worth resetting PRAM as follows:
    -Shut down the computer.
-Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in the next step but one.
    -Turn on the computer.
-Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
-Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    -Release the keys.
