Facing Issue in Report Designer urgent Pls

Hi All,
I am facing a problem when i am trying to insert the data provider in the Report Designer.
Its popping an error message
"Server doesnot returning the meta data check the Query"
Can any one pls throw some light on it.

PDF Print issue in Report designer

Hi All,
I am using Report Designer for formatting group of reports. The issue I face in all is the that when I open the print version of the output in PDF, the words break, for eg: "Department of Biochemistry" will be displayed as "Department of bioc
hemistry". I want to set up in such a way that if the whole word can't fit in one line, then the whole word should go to the next line and not break itself. I see that issue only in Print version whereas when I display the output, that issue doesnot come.
Can anyone let me know what setting I need to do to fix this?

Font issue between Reports Designer and Report Output

Hi.
I've succesfully migrated several reports from 6i to 10g (10.1.2.0.2) with and without parameter form. However, I have the following font issue:
- When report is run from Reports Designer, font is kept.
- When report is run from a forms module (through rwserver on the same machine, that is not really from an application server, but using Oracle BC4J or Developer Suite enviroment) the report output is different. In this case a bigger font is displayed and occasional truncation happens for some fields.
The question is: How can i avoid this difference in font behaviour?. Is it font.ali related?. How come this happen on the same machine(Windows XP)? These reports are to be deployed on Linux, where reasonably, and font machine is expected to happen.
Font used: Arial (Occidental) 9

this might be an issue with the printer that is associated also, and the permissions to the printer that you might have..
login to the application server machine and restart the reports server as an admin..try running the reports via the URL..i have a feeling that this issue might be somethiing to do with the permission(s) to the printer from your AS machine

Issue with Report designer

Hi all,
When am trying to Insert a data provider in Report designer its throwing the following error.
'Error while loading query metadata, check query and portal settings'.
The version of report designer is BI AddOn 7.x (based on 7.10)

Check if your InfoProvider is in Active status. Also check if you can see data for that in LISTCUBE.

Report Designer Urgent

Hi all,
We have a BI 7.0 system, and Iam able to insert a data provider (query) in my Report Designer and able to change the report as per requirement and save it too.
The problem is once i have made the necessary changes, i want to view the finished report. However when i click on Execute or Print Version, an internet explorer page pops up and it displays a message " The Page cannot be Displayed ". We dont have an EP , but we do have a BI portal as told by my basis team.
Please let me know , how to solve this problem.

Thank you guys for all the replies, I have contacted my basis, team and they have made some changes on my desktop, now iam able to move further on the Report designer.
When i execute the Report from Report designer, it asks me to login to the portal, i used my user id, and pwd.
The system now throws a different error message alltogether.
Error:
This report Web item can display reports with version number 2.1 or lower. This report has a version number 2.2.
To display this report , use a newer version of the report Web item.
Contact your system administrator. This error was recorded.
We are using
SAP GUI - 710
Patch - 5

Report Designer drill down issue

Hi Friends,
I am having an issue with report designer.When i run the report designer the characteristics are getting displayed in drill down form for each row of values.Is there any way to restrict this. i want to display the header part in tabular view.

Hierarchy Node display in report designer

Hi,
Urgent please help me out.
I have an issue with report designer. I created a static report in Query designer with 2 structures. When i try to include this query in Report designer, only the last level nodes are getting into the Report designer. All the above level nodes are not featuring in Report designer.
Please help me how to make these top nodes visible in Report Designer.

But this is regarding Report Designer where i create appliction which is based on the WAD or Bex Query . Do we have any setting in Report designer where we can check the selection input which user has given while execution of the report.

Latest Front-End Support pack - Report Designer

Hi,
We are having some formating related issues in Report Designer in some of the Finance reports. I believe this is because of missing latest Support Packs or Patches front end.... for example, in report designer we unable to see the settings in the property window (on left) to display column headings on each page.
We are on front-end pack: BI Add-on 7.10, Support Pack 5, Revision 529.
Back-end: Support Pack 16.
Is this the latest one (for Front-end)?
If not, can you please let me know what is the latest support pack/patches available?

In general, the frontend patches are released at the same time as backend patches...
Therefore,usually
FEP9 is released with SPS9.
FEP10 is released with SPS10.
FEP11 is released with SPS11

To be totally honest this could be any number of things. I have had many
issues with report designer and find it to be not the most user friendly of tools, although with
some effort it does do a job.
Unfortunately I have not had this particular problem, but I'm not sure what you mean by adding
custom text then reopening the report. My thoughts were to already have the query open in RD,
right click in the small white space next to the relevent characteristic then use the Insert Custom Text option.
This should add in a box with [Custom Text] in it which you can overwrite and create your space with the
space bar.
If you are making certain changes to the BW query like adding in additional characteristics then I believe that when reopening RD you will find that the changes you have made will not be replicated unless the the BW query is static (structures only) and not navigational.
I apologise if I am going over old ground and you already know this.

Unable to view report from Bex Report Designer

When I log on to Bex Report Designer, I click execute button, it is giving a blank page. It is neither giving any error nor any message. We have recently installed NW2004s and BI Cont 703. Now my problem is how to make report visible in the BEX Report Designer.

I have religiously followed your Blog. As far as I know any one who wanna setup BEx has to follow this. It is the one place where all the settings related to BEx front end were discussed and disclosed. Thanks a lot for your exemplary attempt.
Though you have mentioned about the .NET frame work I could not understand how it will effect the "insert" menu of BEx report designer. But i have checked that also and its matching with your recommendations.
My question is pretty simple. With sapgui6.40compilation5 with all the latest patches both for gui, BW and BI. Will i get the options of "Report section", "Report section based on Querry"in the "insert" menu of BEx report designer.
The mentioned options "Report section", "Report section based on Querry" were shown in the webnair of BEx report designer. Pls check the link:

We have installed and upgraded the system to spstack 8 and done all the settings. Our front end is also updated with the service packs. But we could not get those options. If you can give me your mail id i can send you the screen shots.

Report Designer black background

Hello,
I have issue with report designer.
When I open a report designer, and insert a BI query into report designer all cells are comming with black background. When I click on each cell I'm able to see the content. I have installed the latest sapgui 710 and latest patch level, but still the problem exist.

Report Designer is slow and does not update info.

I am working with Report Designer.
It is running very slow. For first few minutes it runs fine and after that it slows down.
It is only Report Designer which is slow- Query Designer, BEx Analyzer and other applications are running fine.
Does anyone have any idea please?
I also have some other issue with Report Designer.
I created queries in Query Designer and then formatted in report Designer. Now they want to add one more column or row in query. I add that in Query designer but it does not show in report designer.
It does show under Query Element but I donu2019t how to populate whole row and column.
Can someone assist me that how to bring in report designer?

Report Designer - Issue in inserting the query

I'm facing problem when inserting the query in the Report Designer. Following is the steps I take to create new report in report designer.
1. Developed the query in Bex Analyzer.
2. Click on new in Report Desginer.
3. Click on 'Insert Data Provider'.
4. And at this point it self system throw a message saying that "Do you really want to delete this section? Query will be removed if it is not used in any other section.'
Has anybody come across thos type of issue.
Please advice if I'm going wrong any where.

because a query/workbook.query view created bt Bex abalyzer can't be a data taregt for report designer
