Factory Calendar (Automatic Transport Request)

I would like to make changes to the factory calendar automatically request a transport.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
In transaction SCC4 Automatic recording of changes is set.
In IMG Activity, object SCAL is set to 2 Automatic transport
When changes to factory calendars are made, it only warns that customizing changes are not automatically recorded.

Factory calendar can be changed in Development. This wont create any transport request number. If u need the same changes in other systems, this needs to be manually changed in those systems. There will not be any transport rquest generated as such.

Automatic Transport Requests and Support Pack Stacks using CHaRM

1. All Transports Requests needs to be Automatically moved from Solution Manager using CHaRM.
2. Automatic Support Package Stacks needs to be updated using Solman - CHaRM
would be helpful if any one could send the documentation on above requirements.

Yes. You can schedule a periodic job (say for example daily 6M) to import all released transport requests from QAS to PRD of a maintenance cycle/project. This is the task "Import Transport Request(Backround)" given in task list (tcode-SCMA) of a maintenance cycle.

I haven't done this. But this is the task "Import Support Package" given in task list (tcode-SCMA) of a maintenance cycle.
I hope there is no specific documents for these. It's the same documents related to ChaRM.

Please take a look on the following note that describes the pre-requisites to transport a factory calendar:
538344 - Transporting calendar dates
Also consider the following points:
The calendar can only be transported as a whole.
The calendar transports work according to the motto: all or nothing.
I.e. no keys are specified in the transport and the whole content of the tables is transported.
It is not possible to select single calendars for transport.
For all above reasons, when transporting the calendar, all existing entries in the target system will be overwritten.

How to Transport Factory calender to Production, transaction code used (SCAL) . As changes are been made in Development to factory calendar year as 2010 Workbench request can be seen in se10)
But dont know how to process to quality, & production

Changes to calendar data are not automatically included in a correction request.
For the calendar data to be utilizable in another system, use the function Transport in the initial screen of the maintenance transaction.
Note that you cannot transport individual public holidays or calendars. You can only transport calendar data in its entirety. When you do this, all public holidays, public holiday and factory calendars existing in the target system are deleted.

I have a question regarding transporting factory calendar to production system . Is there any specific way of moving the transport request from development to production ? or it is as usual like other config transportation ?
I was told that there is a special procedure to transport factory calendar . Please throw me some light on this .

First of all, I only need to transport this configuration from DEV Client 301 to QA.
Referring to another SDN note, our Basis Team has changed the Client Role to Customizing, and make the system changable and client independent. Now, the "Transport" function is enabled.
We finally able to transport the Factory Calendar. But when we click on the "Transport", it warned us that "All public holidays, public holiday and factory calendars will be transported.All public holidays, public holiday and factory calendars will first be deleted in the target system."
Like Xioliu mentioned in the same message: "this kind of transport is a table transport, that is , if you use it, all table entries in the target system will be overwritten from the source client.
this is not a SAP recommended transport."
I feel that this is a high risk if we transport the whole table.
Is that a way that we can just transport the two Factory Calendar entries we added (without manually re-create in the system.). The purpose is that we need a TR # generated, so that we can transport to Production with proper transport log.

if you have created a new factory calendar in your source system, you need to transfer global settings (right-click on source system icon in BW workbench) to have it on your BW...

Automatic import transport request

Hi Folks,
We are transporting requests from DEV to QA but they are not being imported(changes are not being reflected in QA).What i am doing is manually i am importing to QA.
My query is is there any way by which automatically import is done once we release from DEV environment?

Hi Chandu,
As far as I undertsnad your problem is that you want to perform automatically transports in your QA system when it is released from your DEV system.
This is very simple. Log in to your QA system and then go to STMS and then try to import all transport in you queue with Import all requests button. Then a popup will come that shows you different option to Import Tarnsport request.
Select Radio Button <b>At Start Time</b>. Then define Start Time and also Period.
After scheduling the job you can verify it by Select Go to --> Job Monitor. It will show you when next job will run.
As a result the job will run periodically and transport all requests that are in QA system queue.

Substitution rule created, NO transport request generated automatically?

Have searched the PS forum, but in vain .. Can anyone suggest why system is not automatically creating a transport request for new substitutions created in IMG as I need to transfer the same to other systems thru transport system with a TR. Should a TR be created manually in this case??? Is this a normal behavior in case of customization for substitutions in PS.

Can you please check SCC4 transaction for know the configuration parameter for No transports allowed is set or not?
such this is the standard behavior in case of OPSI and OPSN validation and substitution. & its client based task to have to do manual in all client system.
why we avoid substitution by transport Request? there are following reason to avoid
1.Class ZV messages are not transportable
2.Repaired objects cannot be included in dev./correction.

How do I AUTOMATICALLY generate Transport request for a Z table data?

Hello friends,
I would like to automatically create/generate a transport request for a Z table every time I change, add or delete data in that table.
Currently, every time I modify data in the Z table, I need to go and manually create a transport request and then indicate keys for the row(s) which were modified. I find this a tedious, time consuming, and error prone process.
So I would like to automate this process. That is to say, the transport request is generated for the rows that I modified. The same way as is done when you change a program. It automatically prompts you for a transport request thingy.
Any ideas?

You need to make the table contents transportable by creating a "table maintenance generator" in SE11 under Utilities -> Table maintenance generator.
In that screen for the section "Dialog data transport Details" the "Standard Recording Routine" option should be selected.
Then only will the system ask for Transport request when entering data through the generated maintenance view in SM30.
Also change the "delivery class' in the table attributes to 'C' - Customizing table

Transport of Factory Calendar

Hi BI Gurus,
I have created a new factory calendar in BI Development system and transported to Quality system successfully. When i proceed to transport to Production system, it return RC = 0 but I couldn't find the newly created Factory Calendar in BI production system.
is there something related to authorization? Any pre-requisites to transport factory calendar? Please shed some light on my issue. Thanks in advance.

Understand that the best practice might be load from the source system to BW.
The factory calendar can be transported to BW Quality system successfully and the newly created calendar id appeared in SCAL. Why the same factory calendar is not appeared in BW Production system after transport with RC=0?
Are there any steps that I miss out when transport of this calendar?

Transport Request Not getting created automatically

We are facing a problem related to , Transport Request not getting created automatically during the SPRO change activities . We have to manually create the Transport Request and then changes need to be included in the request individually on the manual basis .
However earlier , we had no such problem and Transport Request were getting created perfactly .
We request you to kindly help us on this issue pl .

Hi Sonia,
This is purely because of the client settings. Your client settings are in such a way that the cghanges are not getting captured. As mentioned by Naveed, check to see the client settings and change the settings if needed.
FYI: The SandBox clients will have the client settings as in ur system now.

Attaching Holiday Calendar to a Transport Request

Hi experts,
We are rolling out individual countries to our existing system in ECC 6.0. Therefore a lot of new holiday calendars are getting created. The existing option that is there in the system makes us transport all the calendars together to Production system.
Since we already have old calendars in place and do not want to risk them, we wish to attach only new calendars to a transport request and move them to production individually. Is it possible? How can this be achieved?

Can you tell me how did you achieved.I do have a same Scenario.
I thought in following way to achieve the btransport of individual calendars.
I have included the Transport thru SCAL in a Workbench Request.
I went on to SE10 and double clicked on the Workbench Request in chnage Mode.
Then i double clicked over the tables.
THOC ,THOCD , THOCI ,THOCS ,THOL ,THOLU,THOCT ,THOLT .
Then in each i limited with the Required Calendars,public Holidays to be transported.
Like i have entered the Calendar id's.
Do you think this is right approach.I havent tested this option yet.
Can you anyone suggest me on this.

Automatic release of Transport Request

Can we create a recurring transport request that can automatically get released daily and still can be reused to add object the next day?
If yes then how? Do we have an alternative to achieve that functionality?

SAP has provided transports to move objects from one system to subsequent system & it helps to track the changes moved.
Hence SAP doesnt provide ny functionality to use transport request recurringly. This will defy the purpose of tracking the changes moved from one system to subsequent system.
