Factory calendar - Special rules need to be deleted

Hi,
I've created several "special rules" in a specific factory calender 6 months ago, that specified closing days for our plant.
Due to market changes, these previously closing days have to be active working days again; subsequently, I deleted these off days (special rules) in our test system and had it transported into the productive system.
Although the transport did go through technically, the special rules have not been deleted.
Does anyone have experience with that? Can you delete the special rules, or would it have been necessary to just select the tick-box "workday" ?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for your reply Klaus,
to avoid that issue, we schedule the transport of calender changes on the weekend while there is noone on our system. But I will get back to my IT guys here and dicuss that topic.
For me right now it just seems as if the deletion of the special rules are somehow (well, in fact they are) not recognized. My SAP specialist said, that until now we've never deleted closing days..... but in the current crazy market environment >sigh<
I will probably re-create the special rules and tick "workday". Hopefully that'll work.

Factory calender special rules

Hi MM consultants,
We have one issue related to Factory calender.
We updated the special rules in factory caleder stating that palnt is clsoed for some time in christmas.
Now the issue is after creating schedulign agreement delivery schedule release were sent to vendor mentioning that delivery is required during holidays and caused confusion.
My question is which table i can see the special rule created to the factory calneder so that i can confirm the releases were created before the calender updation.

Hi Yashwanth,
You can check the factory calendar and the special rules on SPRO > SAP NetWeaver > General Settings > Maintain Calendar.
There, select "Factory Calendar" and click on "display" button.
In the next screen, select your country and click on the "Calendar" button that is in the top of the screen.
In the next screen, make double click on the year 2012.
There you will see the Public Holidays of the Factory Calendar.
Now, yo check the special rules, go back to the screen that is showing the countries and make double click on the country selected.
In the next screen, click on the "Special rules" button and you will see the special rules for the country selected.
But, for the case of MM, the system is only sending a warning message when you are selecting a Public Holiday or Special Day in the delivery date. The message is as follow:
Delivery date: next workday is 10.04.2012
Message no. ME080
Diagnosis
The system has determined the next workday from the factory calendar that is assigned to the specified plant.
If you don't want that the Public holidays or Special days can be selected, you need to change this message as error message.
You can do this on SPRO > Materials Management > Purchasing > Environment Data > Define Attributes of System Messages > System messages.

FM for updatting multiple calendar special rules.

i have requirement to create special rules for Factory multiple Calendar's.
could you please provide any FM or BAPI that can be used to update the special rules.
i found one FM FACTORYCAL_WRITE_DOCUMENT, but here we can update only one Calendar at once.
i tried to update form the BDC using transaction SCAL, here the issues is that to update multiple calendars we have to do from the begining for each calendar.

To get time differnce based on factory calendar

Dear All,
We have Creation date, time, End date and time. We need to find out the time difference based on factory calendar ..ie need to exculde weekends, holidays.
Is there any FM to get this? Please adivse procedure how to get.

ICal Help Needed! (cannot delete calendars/events on computer and iPhone)

I need some help with my iCal. Background info:
-Currently have an iPhone 3GS
-Using Google Calendar
-Use separate calendar on iPhone (Pocket Informant)
-Wanted to sync all event from Outlook to Google Calendar to iCal to two calendars on phone (this became an issue with alarms so began attempting to delete all events from the original iPhone calendar that I do not want to use)
I started by syncing my Outlook (one way) with my Google Calendar, which syncs with the iCal on computer and Pocket Informant on iPhone, as well as iCal on iPhone. Duplicate alarms started occurring on the phone (PI and iCal). I then attempted to delete all events from the iCal on the computer. One calendar remains, one that I subscribed to from Yahoo Sports. I have tried everything to delete this calendar, but it seems impossible. After I sync the phone, the subscribed calendar shows up as well as birthdays and one calendar from my Google Calendar, on my phone.
So, the issues, and what I would eventually like to see:
1. I would like all events cleared from iCal on computer (currently just subscribed calendar that will not delete)
2. I would like to delete all events from calendar on phone (subscribed calendar, birthdays, and one calendar from Google) *I cannot even delete these events by hand on my phone.
3. In the end I would like to just continue to sync Outlook with Google which syncs with PI and then do nothing with iCal (on phone and computer) *Well really I would like events from Google synced with iCal on computer, but this doesn't seem feasible so I would settle with not using it at all.
The only thing I can think of to do at this point is to delete iCal, but I am not even sure this would correct the calendar issue on my phone as I am unable to delete that and the sync does not seem to be working correctly.
Any help on this would be much appreciated!

The edit feature was working correctly with the calendars and stopped. Performed a sync through iTunes removing syncing preferences first. Did not resolve the issue. I am considering restoring the iphone.

Factory Calendar update

Hell All
For plant my client is requesting that 26 December 2014 be marked as a non working day. The plant is
all taking this day as one of their floating holidays and need it considered as
non work day in factory calendar to extend their Christmas break.
Is there any impact if we do this for other module etc.,,what would be best way if we do through open client or landscape.
Can anyone tell me how to do the same.

While I try to create a workbench request it shows the target system deletes the Holiday calendar.Factory Calendar etc.,after moving the TR it deletes the initial and overwrites ?
when I try to check for transport conflict analysis it takes production logon which never happens before.
Also here I have made the changes for Factory calendar alone in special rule,whereas no changes to holiday calendar,for this case is it require to run the work schedule rule.

SNP Planned order not following resource bucket capacity/factory calendar

I am running SNP heuristics for a product and expecting planned orders for it. It has corresponding production data structure and multimixed resource. The resource has an assignd factory calendar and SNP bucket capacity. The bucket capactiy availablity dates of the resouce is consistent with the factory calendar workdays/holidays. Using simple lot for lot strategy, I am expecting heuristics to schedule the planned orders on the dates of the demand in compliance with teh SNP bucket capacity availability of the resource. APO does not schedule on holidays consistent with bucket capactiy. This is true until...
We have a public holiday in factory calendar that needs to become a workday. To remedy this, we put a special rule for the factory calendar and explicitly made that holiday into a workday. The changes were synchronized with APO, and this is also reflected in the bucket capacity of the resourc: former holiday now has bucket capacity after the calendar change. However, when running heuristics, it still does not create SNP planned order on that former holiday that has been changed into workday. Even if it is a public holiday, there is already a special rule for the factory calendar and the resource bucket capacity reflects this correctly. But SNP heuristics seems not to follow this change.
Any ideas on this? looks like a bug.

Yes, when your resource reflects the addional capacity of the holiday turned working day, then it is expected to be considered for the SNP planned order.
Instead of SNP heuristics, you may try to check interactively in SNP planning book, if manual order creation in the bucket works out.
Since this is a mutlimix resource , it can also be checked if in PPDS planned order can be created on the day.
The above checking may not solve your problem , but will get to know if at least manully the bucket is being considered or not.

How to transport Factory calendar to Production

Hello PP Gurus !,
I have a question regarding transporting factory calendar to production system . Is there any specific way of moving the transport request from development to production ? or it is as usual like other config transportation ?
I was told that there is a special procedure to transport factory calendar . Please throw me some light on this .

First of all, I only need to transport this configuration from DEV Client 301 to QA.
Referring to another SDN note, our Basis Team has changed the Client Role to Customizing, and make the system changable and client independent. Now, the "Transport" function is enabled.
We finally able to transport the Factory Calendar. But when we click on the "Transport", it warned us that "All public holidays, public holiday and factory calendars will be transported.All public holidays, public holiday and factory calendars will first be deleted in the target system."
Like Xioliu mentioned in the same message: "this kind of transport is a table transport, that is , if you use it, all table entries in the target system will be overwritten from the source client.
this is not a SAP recommended transport."
I feel that this is a high risk if we transport the whole table.
Is that a way that we can just transport the two Factory Calendar entries we added (without manually re-create in the system.). The purpose is that we need a TR # generated, so that we can transport to Production with proper transport log.

Information Broadcasting according to the SAP factory calendar

Is it possible to circulate BW reports via the Information Broadcaster according to the SAP factory calendar?
It is our objective to circulate reports according to working days (not calendar dates). Eg, to circulate cost centre reports on the 4th working day.

As suggested above, you may need to create a new calender in SCAL. Points to be kept in mind during the creation of calender are;
1. Use special rules to create fourth working day every month
2. Keep in mind regarding the holidays.
3. You may need to validate this calender in future as you do not know the future holidays.
Option 1: Via Process chain
Create a separate/new process chain which updates the Infocube/ODS on which the report exists -> At the end of process chain, create a new process "Trigger event data change(for broadcaster) -> In the scheduling options of the process chain, use the newly created calender and schedule the chain -> In the Bex broadcaster wizard, select option "Execution with Data Change of Infoprovider".

Option 2: Via background Job
Create a new Job in SM36. In the scheduling options of the Job, use the newly created calender in restrictions. Create a new step for ABAP program RSRD_BROADCAST_FOR_TIMEPOINT and schedule the Job.
If user has authorizations then, Time Point defined by the Job will be visible in the Bex broadcaster wizard.

Loading factory calendar via flat file

Hi,
I need to create a new non standard factory calendar to help us to schedule loading to our SAP BW system. I need to know if there is any standard programm that load special rules for a calendar or I can´t help creating the entries manually.
Is there anybody who can help me with this topic?

I think you can only use transaction SCAL (if you don't want to use the upload settings from source system function)...
Here you can define a factory calendar including the relevant public holiday calendar:
1. Double-click with the mouse on "Execute function", select the option Public holiday calendar and choose the functionDisplay.
2. In calendar maintenance, select the option "Factory calendar", and choose the function Change.
3. Choose the function Insert and make the following entries:
Factory calendar ID and a descriptive short text
Period of validity (From year, To year)
Public holiday calendar ID
Start no. factory date
Number from which the factory date is incremented for each workday.
If you do not make an entry, the default value is "0".
4. Decide which days of the week are meant to be workdays.
5. Define special rules if necessary (e.g. plant holidays).
I don't think that a std pgm exists to upload all these info from a flat file...

Extending factory calendar in mass

Hello,
We have requirement to extend 300 factory calendars upto 2030.
How to extend the special rules in mass?
For example:
All Thrusday even weeks working.
We need to input the special rules for each week seperately.
24 entries per year and 720 entries per calendar.
We have 80 such calendars.
Please anyone helps us updating the special rules easily.

The factory calendar was updated until last year. I need load this year too.
The optios are 'Update tables' or 'Rebuild tables'...
a) should I select option 'Update tables' or 'Rebuild tables'.?
b) IS THERE ANY RISK ABOUT THIS?
How will be impact over the existing process, objects or rules?

Factory Calendar issue in creation of Sales Order/ Delivery Order

There is one issue. Our user is not able to create Sales Order/ delivery order as he is getting the below error message u201CDate 2010-12-27 lies after the end of Factory calendar F1u201D. But when I checked the plant in customization, the Factory calendar assigned is u201CKRu201D and not u201CF1u201D. So I donu2019t understand why this error message is appearing. But when I checked Factory calendar u201CF1u201D, it was valid only up to 2010 and there are special rules also set. Only few days in the year are working days. Factory Calendar u201CF1u201D description says u201CKOR customers billed on the 25th of every monthu201D

If F1 is the correct calander , then goto OP03-Calander Maintenece -select the Holoiday Caleneder and extende the Valaidity till 2020 and also Select the Factory Calander do the same till 2020 .Now Goback to main screen of OP03-Plant asisngement -re-assing the same F1 calaneder .
Secondly check the factory calender of the plant in OX10.Then in SPRO > enterprise structure >Definition > logistic execution>define shipping point .Select you shipping point and assgin the proper factory calender
.Goto OVX5 , choose your sales organization, click on details, Detailed information tab - Sales Org Calendar (maintain your factory calendar here not Sale Org Calander )
.Check in VOV8, use the "Propose delivery date" and "Lead time in Days" options to default today's date as the requested delivery date.

To define summer holiday period in factory calendar

Dear All,
I have to define summer and midterm holidays to factory calendar. I defined them by using "special rules" in transaction SCAL. I saw the days as holiday in factory calendar. On the other hand, when I use function HR_RO_WORKDAYS_IN_INTERVAL to read workdays in a period, the function reads that holiday days as workdays. How can I read that days as holiday?
May I define holiday periods by using "special rules" in factory calendar?

Dear Arjuna,
I will suggest you to control Class period time limit "0200" rather than factory. Event planning will take care rest of the issues automatically. It will reserve the resources between "0200" time interval. If I am understanding your issue correctly. You want to control classes not HR calendar.

OY05 - Maintain the SAP Factory Calendar
SAP Factory Calendar allows companies to key in their own factory work days. Individual SAP application such as MRP will take into consideration these individual factory customizing.
For alternate Saturday, you set Saturday as a normal working day and key in all the off-days in the Special rules button.
In your abap program, you can calculate whether a particular day is a non-working day, with reference to the Factory Calendar.
