Factory Calendar vs. Intervals and Shifts

I have a question in regard to Factory Calendars & Intervals,
Factory Calender W7 determine seven work days per week from Mo.-So.,
Factory Calender W5 determine five work days per week from Mo.-Fr.
1) Setting in CR12, Factory Calendar W7, Interval incl. shifts from Mo.-Fr.
With this setting the system counts five days for the In-Houese Production Time via scheduling if Queue Time are scheduled over Sa.,So.
2) Setting in CR12,Factory Calendar W5, Inerval incl. shifts from Mo.-Fr.
With this settings the system counts two days for the In-Houese Production Time via scheduling if Queue Time are scheduled over Sa.,So.
my assumbtion is that the calculation of work days for In-House Production time foots on the amount of work days in the Factory Calendar and the Factory Calendar must be alligned to the days determind in the Interval to get a correct result.
In our system we run Intervals on a weekly base and we change shift incl. or excl. Sa. and So. on a weekly base too. Unfortunatly I can set only one Factory Calendar per Work Center in CR12, that effects the amount of work days per week.
So is there a way to determine the amount of work days based on the days determinede in the Interval, or align the Factory Calender to a Interval ?
What are the comon setting for such cases?

LSO - Issue with Factory calendar End Year and creation of New courses

Hi,
Recently we are experiencing an Issue in LSO with the system hanging while creation of "Course with Resources".
Upon Analysis we identified that while creating course with resources and by checking "Period without Days off" option references the set factory calendar in LSO config and since this set Factory Calendar has an End Year in 2005, the system hangs trying to reference this factory calendar.
For some course types we are unable to even enter the course creation Data screen. These course types have " Main schedule" (with / without pattern) pre defined.
The issue does not seem to occur if we extend the factory calendar to current period or future.
Please let me know if anybody has faced this issue, if extending the factory calendar the right solution and what is the impact of exteding a factory calendar in HR module. Is the factory calendar referenced anywhere else in HR module?
Note: in LSO config you can set the factory calendar in Training and Event Management>SAP Learning Solution>Training Management>Basic settings>Control Options for Days Off,

We had to add a numeric and /or a special charachter in the password

Factory calendar : closed date and expedition

I'm new in SAP. I want to know what happens if I close a day in the factory calendar ? Would it be possible
to post goods issues or goods receipt ?
Is there different calendars possible ? receipts calendar ? customer calendar ?

Hi,
There is no different posting for goods receipt and goods issue and so on. The posting period is GL Account posting which allow the GL Account posting so as to reflect that in P&L and Balance sheet of the company code, so as to give a real time reporting from SAP system.You cannot do posting on the dates for which period is closed. you need to change goods receipt and goods Issue date manually.You can check the same through transaction code MMPV, provided you have authorization of it.

Difference between holiday calendar and factory calendar

Hi SAP Gurus,
Can any one please let me know the difference between holiday calendar and factory calendar? Why and when we will use the factory calendar?

Hi,
Factory calendar needs to be maintained if you're using some logistics module that require factory calendar.
(Generally for running MRP - Material resource planning, etc. factory calendar maintenance is a must)
Holiday calendar should have been maintained before factory calendar and holiday cal is assigned to factory cal.
Each factory calendar should be assigned to a plant.

Error while processing sales order as factory calendar missing.

I debugged the program and I saw that to the first item use to calculate the
date is the function 'APO_SCHEDULING', and to the rest item use
'SD_SCHEDULING', and until here I come.
How can I do to what the dates calculated are the same? or What would be the
problem?
I need the dates calculated are equal.
I looked at it's using two "factory calendar" which are "J4" and "C2". Is this
correct?

Factory Calendar to prevent delivery on a non-working day

Hi Guys,
You may have already come across this problem and hence requesting your inputs on the same.
I'm able to create a delivery for a sales order on a week-end even though they happen to be 'non-working days' in my Factory Calendar. I have gone through the search forum and the 2 things that most of them said was to attach the Factory Calendar (having Sat and Sun as non-working days) to the Plant and Shipping Point, which I have already done, inspite of which I'm able to create a delivery for a schedule line date which falls on a non-working day.
My business scenario requires that even though a Sales Order may be created on a non-working day, the delivery should only be possible on the next working day, even if stock is available on those non-working days.
Your thoughts/suggestions/ideas would be useful.

Hi Shripad,
In Customer Master, General Data , We have Unloading Points Option. There we can opt for the delivery to the cutomer.
Then we can stop delivery for that day.
Award points if it adds information.

Difference between calendar used in capacity profile & factory calendar?

Hello experts
I am trying to check available capacities in planning book & found some ambiguities.
In /SAPAPO/RES01, factory calendar maintained in the resource is say Z1, but in the same page, the capacity profile tab uses a different calendar.Say in Z1, if X/X/XXXX is a working day, the one present inside capacity profile considers it as a holiday & the available capacity doesn't reflect in planning book.
In ECC, the plant where this work center is defined follows calendar Z1.
So my doubt is which calendar the capacity profile follows & how to ensure that it follows the same factory calendar Z1?

Hello Soumyajit,
few things you can check,
Plant and work center calender assignment should be same, Plant has precedent over WC
Check if in CFC9 you have correct change transfer mode set for resource.
Once calender updated in ECC, use program RSIMPCUST to rebuild the tables for factory calendars in APO and then run /SAPAPO/CRES_CREATE_LC_RES to extend the resource in LC
also run /SAPAPO/TIMESTREAM_UPDATE for any time stream update.
This will update capacity profile as well resource capacity in planning book/ planning board.

In the factory calendar definitions in t.code SCAL, the working days are maintained. Working time is specific to each application area like shipping, production etc. For shipping area timings maintenance, check the link Factory Calendar Working Times and Factory Calendar Working Times

How to update Factory Calendar in SRM

Do we need to have Factory Calendar updated in SRM as currently it shows valid to 2010?
My understanding is that this is only for ECC. What is Factory Calendar used for in SRM? How do I update/ extend it?

Fixed Public holiday in Factory Calendar

Hello All,
I an trying to understand how can I define a fixed holiday in a Factory Calendar.
I understand the process of defining a public holiday and assigning it to Factory calendar but what I want is a fixed holiday every month.
So how can I define a holiday in which we would like to have 2nd monday(or any other day) of every month as a holiday.

Hi,
As per my understanding system will not come to knowon what date second monday is going to come on every month.
In your Case you can meet ur requiremnt by defining special rules for your factory calendar.
First from the calendar,list out the dates on which second monday is coming every month
Then go to SCAL,click on Factory calendar radio button and then change,selct ur factory calendar and then go to change mode and then click on special rules.
Then Click on create button,enter from date and to date same as from ur listed dates for secon monday of every month.entr text and dont click the check box of work day.
like this you do for all the dates of second monday of every month.
Those dates which are defined here will be considered as holiday in the calendar,

How SAP will decide the week no.
For example 2009 week no1 will start from dec29-2008 or Jan 4 2009 .

You may define your own factory calendar valid from 2009 for a period of max 5 years 2014 and when you are going to activate the working days from monday to friday it will conside the staring work day as monday it falls as 1st week on 1st of Jan
can you select your predefine factory calendar from 2009 and save it and let me know it is a open config or transportable it totally depends on client configuration settings

Time stream and Factory Calendar settings issue. Problems in scheduling!!

We have a factory calendar of working days from SUN-THU only (5 days a week).
Every working day starts at 07:00:00 (first shift) and ends at 06:59:59 at the following day.
I am not sure how to set the time stream. Do I set it for daily (5 days a week) with gaps start at 07:00:00. Or, as the standard way as daily (all days 1 -7) 00:00:00 - 23:59:59 without gaps.
We are using the planning board to schedule production orders that were created in ECC, but we see that we have problems with date corelation between the systems, and we think it is due to some wrong setting of the time stream!

For scheduling, the time stream of resource is relevent. As to how to generated the time stream, it depends on your resource capacity setting and your factory calendar. I'm not sure why your factory calendar starts at 7:00:00 daily. For the time steam of the resource, it should be ok to start at 7:00:00, and you mayexecute the time stream generation (ta. /sapapo/rest02) to save the time stream in LiveCache.

Working days between two date fields and Changing Factory Calendar

Hi,
I have to calculate working days between two date fields excluding the weekends and public holidays for Switzerland.
I have written the routine using factory calender and its working fine except for two problems now:
1. If any one of the date field is empty then teh rsult should be zero.
2. And the below code is working from 1996 but my cleints wants it to work for years before 1996 as well.
I also tried to change the Start date in SCAL for factory calendar but it says enter values between 1995 to 2020.
I am new to ABAP. Please help me how i can achieve these for below code.
