Factory Calender for New Product

Dear Experts,
Pls guide me through this, there is one plant running 5 days a week for product A and there is an other product B should actually start for other two days on the same week, and after two months i have to incorporate product B along with A simultaneously, which results both the products getting manufactured through out the week.
How do i set factory calendar for this requirement.
Thanks in advance.
Arun.

Hello Arun
I suggest you to use time-phased planning with a periodic lot sizing procedure (e.g. PK) and define a different planning calendar for each material. The planning calendar can be created on transaction MD25.
For the first calendar, you should defined the 5 days where product A will be produced and assign it to material A. The second planning calendar will be created for the 2 days where product B is produced and assigned to material B.
When this is not necessary anymore, simply remove the periodic lot sizing procedure.
Check this document for a detailed guide to set up time-phased planning:

  • Factory calender for Shipping Point

    Dear,
if we change the Factory calender for Existing shipping point, Can i know what are the provlems will face??
    Thanks in adv.

You can do this by using tcode:OVXD ( Define Shipping Point) -Initial step to create Shipping Point in Enterprise structure.
Select your shipping Point & Click on Details button - you will find Factory Calender field.
It will have impact on following:
    - confirmation dates of Qty(Lead time)
    - Need to check Public holidays.
    - Confirmation Date on sales document items, may get re-calculated as the shipping point may have less/more days now to do backward/forward scheduling
    - If you are on a MTO environment, the start/finish date of the manufacturing order may change, as now you may have more/less days than previously estimated
-The MRP demand may change, now requesting certain product to be available (material Availability Date) either earlier or later
-Your "Route" (Transit Time) may be off and if you have any "D" Incoterms that drive revenue recognition at different times after PGI, then they may be off now that the date is different.
One suggestion. Copy your client to a temporary sand box client, then do the change there and then try to ship some orders on the date that is/was marked as a holiday, also change some sales orders (anything that will re-trigger the scheduling like quantity or delivery date) and take a look not only to the sales document, but to the manufacturing order as well as get the MRP folks to be aware of the impact on their side . Having the compare client, you will be able to see what happen in your production system vs. how it behaves on your new sandbox with the new calendar.
    Hope it can assist you.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Techniques for New Product Introduction in Demantra 7.3.0.1

    Hi,
In Demantra 7.3.0.1 there are two ways for New Product Introduction:-
    1) Demand Planner: Member & chaining management
    2) Collaborative Workbench: Create Similar product
Can someone please tell me the pros and cons of each technique.
The new product introduction will be handled by our clients, so I wanted to know if all the required features can be handled by just one method so we can propose that to be used by the client. Or do we need to use both techniques for different scenarios?
As I understand with Chaining one can link one item to many sites at one go, while with CW the similar item is created linked to one particular location.
Also CW allows for adding cannibalization factor which is not accounted for in chaining.
Apart from this it would be really helpful if someone could throw some more light on the issue.
    Thanks.

    Hi Gaurav,
I personally feel that 'Create Similar product' is a much required improvement over the original way of NPI using Member & Chaining Management.
Also with CW as well, a new and similar item created can also be linked to multiple location, same as Source Item, depending on the filters used in the Worksheet from which the create similar product is invoked.
some of the PROS and CONS of the 2 methods are as follows:
Demand Planner: Member & chaining management
Pros: 1) Can be used to specify the time range for copying the history date.
    2) Can be used to specify the Percentage by which the source data needs to be adjusted while copying into the target combination
    3) An important feature is that this can be used to do chaining at an aggregated level.
Cons: 1) It takes a long time to setup a New Member, combination and Chaining relationship.
         2) High User involvement since user has to perform muliptle tasks and more error prone.
    Collaborative Workbench: Create Similar product
    Pros: 1) User-friendly
    2) Users needs to enter a few datapoints in single form and does not need to navigate through multiple forms/screens
    3) Ability to specify Cannibalization parameters as well as Launch dates
    4) Good performance.
    5) Ongoing Chaining
    6) When coupled with features like 'End of Lifecycle date', it provides a complete Business solution
Cons: 1) Can not be used for only performing Chaining.
    2) While it can be used to create a New Similar Product, it cannot be used to create a new similar Customer based on an existing item-location combination data. This, though, may not be a very common scenario.
    3) Apart from copying other Item attributes, the method also copies the same 'Item Description' level from source to the new similar product, which sometimes can be very confusing.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Rohit Goyal

  • Use old product number for new product.

    Dear all,
I have to manage the following case.
From a defined date the engineering releases a new product that will substitute an old product.
The marketing doesnu2019t want to change material number and would you like to use the old product number also for new product.
This solution has a great impact for planning because there is not possible to distinguish the old product stock from new product stock.
    Could you help me?
    Regards
    Flavia Borselli

    Hi,
I think one opption is discontinuation that was invited for such cases I thnk. You can set the new part number as the follow-up material of the old one - in this case planning will run smoothly hopefully...
That would mean that they should use new part number but there would be some connection between the new and old one...
Split valuation is another tool to make difference between batches from different origins when the material number is the same. But you wrote batch management is not active...
If you use WM you can store the new & old goods separatly but I wouldn't prefer such solutions...

  • Item - OnHold / Valid - lock for new production orders

    Hi
I am looking for a way to lock an item (with its BOM) for new production orders so that users can not add new production orders for this item until it has been unlocked by the responsible person (BOM needs to be checked by the responsible first).
However, it should still be possible to use (issue/receipt) this item in already existing production orders.
It should affect adding of new production orders only.
btw.: is there any difference in effect between OnHold and Valid settings for an item except for its inverted logic regarding the dates to set?
    Thanks
    Franz

    Hi!
It is not possible to do this with ONHOLD or VALID field.
Try to use Stored Procedure or FMS.
If u use SP, write code like Block Adding Production Orders with X Item
If u use FMS, add a new UDF in Prod.Order row level which should be mandatory. Give Y as a Default Value for tht UDF.
Write a FMS like, Check the Current Line Item Code if it is X Item then make the UDF NULL else Default Value. This will block adding Production Order with X Item

  • When is reserving/preording available for new products?

When is reserving/preording available for new products? Is it annoucnement day or what? I'm planning on getting the iPad 3 as soon as it comes out, or as soon I can.

Nobody here can say for sure  - apple will announce on announcement day, and it will be well publicized. In recent years, the iPhone and iPad have not been available for ordering on announcement day, but apple could change that policy at any time.

  • Factory calender for plant

    Dear Experts,
What is the T-code and how to set factory calender for a specific plant.
    Regards,

    Hi,
Either you can use SCAL t-code or go to SPRO --> SAP Netweaver --> General Setting --> Maintain Calendar. Once Factory Calendar is maintained. Then go to OX10 and assign factory calendar to specific plant.

  • Returning Broken iPod Classic for new Product

I have a defective 30GB iPod classic. I bought a new one, but still have the old one. Will Apple take the old one as part of a trade in for a new product?

As part of a recycling program they will give you 10% off towards the purchase a an iPod at an Apple Store.
Or you can sell it for parts.

  • Error Message for new production order type

I have created a new production order type and gone through all the configuration requirements that I'm aware of.  In testing this new order type, I get an error message in transacion CO02 when selecting the printer icon. The error is as follows:
No reference document type defined for order type ZRWK
    Message no. CO179
ZRWK being the new order type.
I've searched through many posts and found nothing relating to this message.  Hopefully someone has encounted this before.
I'm sure I've missed something, but can't pinpoint what it is.
    Help is greatly appreciated.

Bob, did you check your print parameters?..Maybe you don't have your sap forms..You can check it with Tx. COPI
The path is Print - Print Settings - Configuration Menu.

  • Finding Soln. to initialise total number of pages for new production order

    Hi Experts,
My internal table has details of Production Order which has to be printed in a smartform. The page numbers has to be initialised i.e both SFSY-PAGEand SFSY-FORMPAGES each time when it prints a new production Order.
    Example :
Say Production Order 1 is populating in 4 Pages it should display
    1 of 4
    2 of 4
    3 of 4
    4 of 4
and for the 2nd Production Order say it Occupies 2 pages page number should be initialized and displayed as
    1 of 2
    2 of 2
One solution i found is having the smartform inside a loop and passing details of one production order at a time but i dont want to use it as i might be lead to performance issue.
Kindly suggest me a Solution where i passed my internal table once to the smartform and get the output.

  • Billing Accounts for New Products****New Policy***

Apparently Vz has decided that if you have been delinquent in paying your bill for ANY reason in the last 6 months, you cannot bill new products& services to your account, regardless how long you have been a loyal customer or your VIP status. I received a less than acceptable refurbished Blackberry replacement. Due to issues with multiple dropped calls and no signal issues I need to exchange this for another phone. This is an unexpected expense for my budget, but Verizon will not let me bill this to the account after an error with a payment on the Vz website.
Vz is getting MORE & MORE DIFFICULT to do business with, even for loyal customers. So I am choosing to move to T-Mobile, contract or not, don't care, won't pay. Have had enough of the "High & Mighty" Attitude & over priced service & products.

This is NOTHING new. Has been this way for a long time. Also being a VIP... I believed that program ended well over a year ago. I received a less than acceptable refurbished Blackberry replacement. • I understand there may be a new Apple TV coming out in 2014. Hopefully this could be a game changer in our lives and not just a product upgrade. I also understand that Apple does not except unsolicited ideas and suggestions for new products.

This is totally reasonable. That being said, understanding this is neither a "suggestion" nor an "idea", I was wondering how great it would be if the new Apple TV would have built in Radio Frequency control capability for all HT products. Comcast has RF control with it's new x1 box but it does not work with other components like a DVR, AV Receiver or other HT devices. Logitech offers remotes that one has to program with all the codes per individual manufacturer but this still requires an RF base station and external blasters.
If the Apple had a relationship with the different audio/video manufacturers so that one could simply use an Apple TV remote ( or optionally use ipad, iPhone, MAC ) to control everything HT, then this simplicity would capture a huge audience in a big way!! Of course..........this is not a suggestion or an idea :-).
                    Faithful Apple Fan, BPACK

You can submit feature requests to Apple customer service.
I was wondering how great it would be if the new Apple TV would have built in Radio Frequency control capability for all HT products.
No idea what you mean by HT devices, but it is unlikely Apple would release a product to support 3rd party devices.  On top of which changing the ATV remote to be RF instead of IR would break all the existing remotes that are able to work with ATV.  And would be MUCH more expensitve.
Comcast has RF control with it's new x1
Only becasue they HAVE to because they only provide one actual cable box, with other dumb box termtinals.   So remotes have to be able to work in other rooms since they all have to connect to the real cable box.
but it does not work with other components like a DVR, AV Receiver or other HT devices.
Right, since once you switch to RF you break compatablity with all the other IR devices out there which is pretty much 99% of them.
If the Apple had a relationship with the different audio/video manufacturers so
Apples whole business model is locking out other manufatures.

  • Factory calender change in Production - Urgent !!!!

    Hi,
I have a question about transporting the SAP calendar from Dev to PRD. I created a new factory calendar in DEV and want to transport it to QA and PRD. When I select the transport button I get a message saying that all calendars will first be deleted and then replaced.
    1) The first question is "is there any way to transport just the calendar I created or do I have to transport them all?".
    2) The second question is " If I have to transport all the calendars how does this affect the current applications and jobs that are scheduled using the calendars, will these jobs have to be reschedule using the new calendars or will the jobs be OK and get the calendar information at the time they run. Again I only created one new calendar all
the other calendars should be the same.
    Thanks
    Best Regards'
    -Shiva.

    Hi,
The Calender which you have created in SCAL is not Client Specific. If you change anything. Each change takes effect directly in all clients.
You cannot transport the calender directly to another client.
Communicate with abaper & Fico guys before you do this.
