Factory defaulted my iPad - is in German, how do I change to english?
A friend bought the new iPad 2; I bought her old iPad. Factory defaulted, but now in German. How can I change that to English?
Actually I already did that and it was already checked for English. However, I'm still looking at German, or a language that is like German.

Do you mean the language of the iTunes and App Store apps, the whole iPad, or something else ?
If the whole iPad then this page describes how to change it : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4051
If the iTunes and App Store apps then their language should be the language of the country where your iTunes account is based and can't be changed. If your account is not based in a German speaking country then try logging out of your account by tapping on it in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if the iTunes and App Store apps are then in the correct language. -

Sorry, you can't. Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID used to originally obtain them. They cannot be updated using any other Apple ID, nor can they be transferred to another Apple ID. You will have to update them using the ID used to originally obtain them.

Really, I thought you were the app support? the fix was to turn the phone off and back on and it went to english! But thanks, you made me look a little harder at the situation, but this doesn't work all that well. My android was MUCH better for texting.

Apple menu / System Preferences / Keyboard / Input sources.
Click + (bottom left) and in the pane that comes up, select Danish on the left, and click Add.
Of course that can only change what the keys actually input, not what is written on the keys. If you wish to change the physical look of the keys as well, get in touch with Apple and ask if they can replace the keyboard. -

The scary language is Latin, quotes from Cicero to be precise.
It is Placeholder Text designed to show the appearance and layout of the document.
You click in it, something most people try, and it is selected. You then type to replace it.

I use an iPad 2 at work that has a different apple id for iCloud than my own personal new iPad. How can I change the company's id for iCloud to synchronize with my own personal iPad?
Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and tap the Apple ID listed and sign out and sign in with other ID
You also may want to go to other places like:
- Settings>iCloud
- Settinge>FaceTime
- Settings>Messages>Send and Receive and change the ID
It may be best to go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Settings and start over again and set up the iPod again with his account/ID -

You cannot change an Apple ID. You presumably created a new one.
So go to Settings > iCloud, delete the old iCloud account from your iPad (down at the bottom), and then sign in with your new Apple ID.
If you have purchased material (e.g., iTunes music), you may well run into issues doing this change, in that your iTunes music is not authorized to play on your new Apple ID. -

You need to try and explain your problem again. I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to describe the problem as. What do you mean you defaulted pictures to open phone? What default are you referring to here?
You can import pictures from the Camera Roll of the iPhone to the computer, and you can sync pictures from the computer to the iPhone using iTunes, but I don't know what you mean when you say defaulted pictures. -

I would recommend going to System Preferences>Language & Text and making sure that English is at the top of the list for your preferred language. If you do not use German you may even want click on the edit list button and remove the check mark next to Deutsch.
