Factory Reset and *228 DO NOT HELP.  Period

What a freakin' joke.  Missed calls, screen freezes 2-3 times per day and friends sending texts that I don't get because Verizon doesn't give a rats arse about anything but YOUR $$$$!  The common verbiage from ANY REP is..."Factory Reset"...*228..."pull the battery..wait 10 minutes then hold the volume buton down...then hold it up all while re-installing the battery"..Why? Because that is what they have been told to say to pacify all the "we got taken" customers.  People...wake up!  Neither the factory reset OR * 228 have helped at any time.  We are stuck wth these *** phones until our contracts run out.  I should have purchased the i-Phone 4, but thought saving $100 on the Fascinate was a good choice.  Just face it...you are going to miss calls...you are going to miss texts...your phone is going to freeze up and you will have to pull the battery 1 or more times per day AND, Verizon and Samsung are laughing all the way to the bank!  As for myself, I will wait for my next bonus check in August and go get the i-Phone 4.  Besides me & my wife having problems with the Fascinate, I have 5 other friends that also have it and they are having the exact same problems!  I guess having the Fascinate is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!   I guess.

  There was a thread someone posted about the issue of not receiving phone calls, and the fact that it seemed to lose the device with the phone number? Someone suggested taking another phone, activate that phone with your number, and then re-activate the Fascinate on your number.
 Not sure if this will help or not, but I saw it somewhere out in the forums.
I have did that at least 7 times it Fails also

    Hi deadweight1102, welcome to the HP Forums.  I understand you are unable to perform a factory reset. If the computer shows you the F11 option to do a factory reset, and it is not responding, then it is possible the recovery partition is damaged or non-existent.
    Do you have recovery media, or Windows XP disks?

  • Sudden shut down battery problem, factory reset and SW update/repair did NOT help

    Hello everyone, i have a "sudden shut down problem" with my Xperia Z1 C6903 too. Sudden Shutdown always happens at about 70% for the first time, after been fully charged. I cant turn it on right afterwards but if i wait 1 min. it works. However sooner or later the phone, somewhere between the remaining battery, will repeatedly shut down again. I couldnt find out what triggers it and android battery test show that the battery is ok. I am not an expert with these devices, but i hope it is a software or calibration problem? There is a similar threat which points to the solution of using Sony PC Companion Software repair, i tryed it twice and it did NOT help! edit:I havent changed the device after PC Companion repair step, thus no other Apps are running and no energy managment has been configured (stamina mode) edit 2:hidden battery info * # * # 4 6 3 6 # * # * shows:...battery health: goodbattery voltage: 3969 mVbattery temperature: 36.6° C...is there a way which gives me more details than just "good"? And what does that even mean? 

    Hi, I have exactly the same problem after upgtading my phone to lollipop. I tried repair from PC companion and facfory rest, but no luck.
    Do you think it is Because of the battery? Never had this problem before upgrading to lollipop. The other thing I notice is when the phone suddenly shutdown (baterry jump from 50-60% to 0%), I just need to plug in my charger and wait a moment before turning it on, then here is the problem.
    1. Sometimes the battery indicator shows 50% or slightly lower than before shutting down.
    2. The other times, it will show accordingly that the baterry is out (1% because it's charging)
    3. Most of the times, there is a message "android is upgrading...", when turning it on.
    Any idea how to solve this problem?

    When using the Analog Mono (default) on a loop like Trance Tunnel Bass 2 it gives it the effect I'm looking for. Now on the song I've composed sounds good on GB, the iPod, iPhone, & iTunes, but once I uploaded to Soundcloud or band camp the audio has this static sound to it. If I add Automatic Filter (Default) to the Analog effect and uploaded to those media sites it does have they static anymore. Could the settings be the issue to that or is there something wrong with GB?

    If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

    The iPhone has a feature called "Activation Lock" described here:

    Without that Apple ID, you will not be able to use that iPhone.

    did you restore from backup or as a new device?  Restore as a new device.  Before you add any apps to it, use the phone with just the iOS-installed apps.  If it's fine, slowly add a few purchased apps back at a time.  Do this until the offending app is found.

    Well, your profile info says 10.4.11, and you are posting your question in the iMac (PPC) category.  If you are running Snow Leopard, it must be a fairly recent Intel iMac.

    I have the same issue on my Ipad Air.  Screen will not rotate, I have reset the settings, still only displays in the portrait mode.  A couple of interesting things though.  a couple of days before it completely locked up into portrait I would have to turn the ipad off and hold it in the orientation I wanted because it would not change orientation after I was in an app.
    Also, I just played a Netflix video and it was in landscape mode.
    Any ideas?

    Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store, so it won't show for re-downloading. If you haven't got a copy of it anywhere (if it's on your computer's iTunes then it should be in the Books part of your library) and it's still in the store then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Hard factory reset and my findings

    Alright...I decided to do a hard reset on my phone after having a few issues with froyo.  I had TK taskiller installed previous to doing a hard reset.  The two biggest issues I had was my texting seem to lag when I was texting.  Like it couldnt keep up.  The other issue was my batter would go from 100% to like 86% within an hour of little to no use.
    I performed a hard rest. (powered off phone, press the down volume and press the power button, select clear storage.)  This complete resets phone,  even had to reactivate the phone.
    Charged phone all night as usual.  Had it turned off while charging throught he night, as usual.  Battery was still at 100% even after an hour.  Phone was at 86% at 2pm.  I took it off the charger at 7am, mind you.  Also I did not reinstall my app killer after hard resetting but I did reinstall all apps the I previously had.  I exported contacts to sd card before resetting so all I had to do was import them back to phone after reset.  There is no longer any lag in my text usage.
    My findings....battery performance has definitely increased, in fact it is almost 9pm and batter is at 76%.  This is an extended battery, mind you, but...it was the same battery that was below 50% at this time before the reset.
    In summary, the small issue with texting has been resolved and my battery is definitely lasting longer.  As to why the battery lasts longer, wether it was due to reset or just not having app killer, I do not know.  So yeah....hard reset and no app killer worked great for me!

    I also did a hard factory reset.  I was using the 3500 extended battery, and after the upgrade to 2.2, what used to be 6 days on a single charge was reduced to only 2 days.  So, I did the hard factory reset.  I DID NOT find that to be helpful with the battery usage.
    But, what I did find is that if I leave my WiFi turned on, the battery drains much more quickly than if I shut it off and only turn it on when needed.  However, this was not a problem under 2.1.  I left the WiFi on all the time.

    I had to perform a factory reset and recover on my iPad 2. iTunes only found a backup file from April of 2014. However I backup my iPad every month. I really need to recover my notes, contacts and pictures Without losing my current updates. I found a more recent backup on an external drive but iTunes overwrote it when I followed the self help instructions.  Also there are 4 Apple products being backed up on my PC and I do not know how to tell them apart. Has anyone ever had this issue and know of a valid resolutions?   Any assistance would be greatly appreciate.

    Hi Since ios 7 when you charge your iPhone or iPad it Automatically backs up To icloud you can do almost everything over your WiFi. So you should have a recent backup. Cheers Brian
