Factory Reset Ipad

I recently bought an ipad that was a demo in a store. I didn't think it would be a problem because I would just factory reset it to the normal setting. However, there is no factory reset option for me to chose. I am going through the settings - general - and scrolling to the bottom but there is not a reset option. Also... I downloaded new apps and I cannot get them to delete by holding them for ten seconds.... I currently own an Ipod touch which I thought would be similar but apparently not
Thank you for your help!

Would this also be under the settings - general because I do not have that option either...

  • Factory Reset Ipad Air without password?

    Hi guys,
Need a bit of help I work in retail and have a customer who returned and ipad to us without factory resetting first and also we can no longer contact her to get the password so we can reset it ourselves.
Is there a way I can bypass this and factory reset it without the password?
    Cheers

I see now. It just seemed so odd without the context that you just provided.
I have no clue how the vendor/supplier relationship works with Apple, but I would contact them and explain the situation. I have to believe that they have a way of dealing with this issue with their resellers.
Other than getting help from Apple, there isn't anything you can do unless she is willing to cooperate. I would be tempted to take legal action against her if I could.

  • Factory Reset iPad 2 without passcode or iTunes

I need to do a factory reset on an iPad 2. It is locked with a passcode, and I do not have a computer with iTunes on it. How can I reset my device?
If you cannot help, please do not post irrelevant links or questions. Thank you.

There is no way anyone can help you. It is like asking how can I drive my car without an engine. You cannot restore it to factory conditions without iTunes and a computer. If you make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store they will restore it as a new device for you. You might also get the Geek Squad people to do so for you also.

  • Please help factory reset ipad remotely

I did a stupid thing — sold my 3rd gen ipad and forgot to factory reset before mailing. It's in transit now, probably arriving to new owner tomorrow.
I need to remotely erase it without locking out the new owner. I can access it via icloud/find my iphone and it has a passcode lock. I don't remember if Find my iphone is loadeded on it or if I set it to delete content after # of incorrect passcode attempts. I suppose that would be the easiest way to fix this situation.
Via icloud, I've set it to erase all content as soon as it is connected to the internet. Then I'm thinking, he can email me that it's been erased, then I remove it from my icloud account and that will allow new owner to start from scratch.
Please let me know if this will work...or what will.
    thank you!

Remote erase iPad step by step
    1. Launch web browser on your computer
    2. Sign in to www.icloud.com
    3. Tap on Find My iPhone
    4. Select the iPad to be erased
    5. Tap Erase iPad
    6. Message: All your content and settings will be erased. An erase iPad cannot be located or tracked
    7. Tap Erase
    8. Enter Apple ID and Password
    9. Tap Next
    10. Enter a phone number where you can be reached. It will be shown on your iPad after it has been erased
    11. Enter phone number
    12. Tap Next
    13. Tap Erase iPad
    14. This message will be shown on your iPad after it's been erase "This iPad has been lost. Please call 12345678"
    15. Done
    16. Erase started
    16. OK
    17. Remove from Account (this will allow iPad to be activated and used by another person)

  • How to factory reset IPAD-1?

i couldnt find the option to reset my ipad to factory settings. any help?

You should be able to reset it back to factory defaults via Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings. But before you do that have you copied all iTunes purchases over to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases - not all content types can be redownloaded in all countries, so if there is anything on your iPad that you may want to keep then you should copy it off

  • My factory reset ipad requires passcode

I have an Ipad which has been reset to factory settings but now it is asking for a passcode. I have never given it a code since the resent. How can I work out how to deal with this?

You enter the passcode, that's how you work it out. Assuming that you purchased this device second hand, you need for the original owner to erase the device correctly for you. If this is a previously owned iPad, there is nothing you can do to unlock it without their ID and passcode.
    Take a look at this.

  • I just updated to iOS 8 on my iPad 2 and got an error then factory reset! Now I cannot see my Purchased Apps

I just updated to iOS 8 on my iPad 2 and due to a unforeseen error on iTunes I had to do factory reset. I was using my friend's iMac iTunes to download and update, instead of OTA. Now I'm unable to see my previously purchased apps (some even discontinued that I was hanging on to as they still kind of worked)... Even after I logged into App store on my iPad (tried restoring iCloud and iTunes but no luck, somehow there isn't any backup)! I checked my App Store updates/purchases and see nothing. A forum suggested I try buying it anyway and it will say I already have it and not double charge, but I don't want to take that chance as most of these apps are over $4. I have receipts for all my purchases. Please help!

When you do an update via a computer's iTunes the update process will backup the device (a backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content/settings), wipe the device, install the update, and then restore the backup - the restore would look to pick up your apps, music, films etc from the iTunes library.
You've tried logging out (tap on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app) and back in and seeing if they then show in the Purchased tab, and you could also check to see if the apps are hidden from Purchased : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases.
If an app is no longer in the store then you won't be able to redownload it. You haven't got copies of your apps in your own computer's iTunes library and/or on your backup of your downloads/library ?

  • HT1296 How can I save my stuff on my ipad before factory resetting it?

Apple said that I need to factory reset my ipad but how can I save my stuff because I payed for like 5 apps and and 29 songs. I don't want to delete them if I don't have to. Thanks

Do you use iTunes to sync your iPad with a computer ?
If so, do a sync before you reset your iPad and everything will be saved ready for the reset iPad.
If not, anything you paid for using the App Store will still be available to you.  The App Store knows you paid for them and will just put them on your iPad again.

  • Apple Ipad has been factory reset and removed from manage devices but the new user can't register it under a new ID

iPad generation 2 has been factory reset, removed from managed devices, apple support, and the device still continues to say it's locked by my ID and cannot be unlocked and registered to a new ID.
    HELP!

Even if you are sure you have done all of this, do it again slowly and in the order given:
Prepare your device to sell or give away
If there is still a problem, post back with the exact complete wording of the error message

  • I have an iphone and an ipad (which are connected by the same apple id) i broke the phone and sold it but i didnt get to factory reset it because it was broken, is there any way for me to wipe my iphone from my ipad?

i have an iphone and an ipad (which are connected by the same apple id) i broke the phone and sold it but i didnt get to factory reset it because it was broken, is there any way for me to wipe my iphone from my ipad?

    Try this:
Open the "Find my iPhone" app on your iPad, fill in your AppleID and password at the start up screen, and you should see a list of all your devices and their current location, if connected to a Wi-Fi or mobile data network. Devices not connected will be shown as "offline". But you can still trap on the icon and hit "erase iPhone" in the right hand window.
If your iPhone is not listed, you did not activate this feature during the setup of the phone and it can't be erased remotely.
If the phone is listed, even as offline, tap on "erase" to send the erase command. The next time your device will be connected to any kind of network, the content will be erased.

  • I worked for a company that closed down and inherited an ipad 2 linked to Vodafone uk as the carrier but no account details. So I factory reset, downloaded the ios7and added EE sim and Ipad does not work. what can I do? Voda/EE/Apple say NO SOLUTION?

I inherited an Ipad 2 from a company that I had worked for in the UK but had closed down.
It was an IPAD2 locked to the Vodafone UK network by a Vodafone SIM Card.
No account details were or are available for the original account.
So I removed the Vodafone SIM Card and then factory reset wirelessly using my wireless at home.
I updated the system to IOS 7.0.2.
I was then sold under a contract from EE another UK carrier a SIM card for the Ipad and when inserted the Ipad says Sim not applicable.
I checked with Vodafone and EE shop and they said they cant unlock it, I checked with Apple who said the same!
So I have an IPad I can use wirelessly at home, a sim card from EE which is an u
locked Vodafone carrier mode and all 3 multinational companies say they cannot unlock it from Vodafone to enable me to use the EE sim.
What can I do to sort this mess out? Please help!
    Thank You

Steve, have you tried just going through the unlock form here?
    http://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/forms/unlock-code-request/
That's what the moderator in several older threads in Vodaphone's forum said was all that is necessary. Carriers often won't unlock for anyone but the original account holder, so if you don't have the details of the company's account, that might be the barrier in which case there will not be any way to get the iPad officially unlocked.
    Good luck.

  • I sold my iPad and put it in the mail and it seems to be stolen, I did a factory reset of the iPad to clear my data. Is there any way to retrieve it?

I sold my iPad on eBay. I mailed the item and the buyer claims to not have it. I did a factory reset before sending and it is not coming up in my cloud. Is there another way to retrieve it?

If it was restored as new then it no longer can be tracked.

    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting photos only from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
