Factory reset on every restart (z 10 stl 100-2)

Plss tell me what is the issue with my device. It gets reset every time I restart it. All internal device data contacts and apps are erased. Plss help!

After a factory reset i can choose for the language setting at that moment the setup will connect the network, by processing the settings for wireless or cabled LAN.

I'm running 10.2.8, and use a Lucent waveLAN/ieee card with the Sourceforge drivers (WirelessDriverBeta5); they do a good job of connecting me to my wireless network. My one complaint is that every time I restart my Powerbook and want to go online I have to open the wirelessconfig utility in System Preferences and re-enter the setting (hex key, channel, etc.). Does anybody know if this is normal behavior for this card/driver set under Jaguar, or am I missing some silly little thing?

Anybody out there familiar with the Sourceforge wireless card drivers? Maybe a link to a previous discussion I overlooked?

IMac resets on every restart

I recently shipped my iMac home from college and I'm having a very strange problem. All my files are on the computer, as are all my programs and bookmarks. The strange thing is when i restart the computer is as if I am starting it for the first time. The bookmarks which come with the computer (and I have deleted, like Amazon, Yahoo!, News, Apple, etc) are loaded along with my old ones. My mail loads as if it has never been used. If I remove a shortcut from the dock or add one, when I restart it returns to the original set that comes with the computer. Any ideas on what is going on? Another symptom is my updates are failing.

This may be a permissions issue. Try repairing permissions from Disk Utility, which you'll find in the Utilities folder.

Can you confirm that running this tool produces The fix is not applicable to this device?
Assuming that's the case, if possible can you please reproduce this issue can capture two sets of logs for me?
To do this complete the steps below.
Log Set #1 - Before restarting
Restart your device
Within 5 minutes of restarting, create a new document using Docs to Go
Open the Help app
Swipe down from the top of the screen, tap Create Report
Tap Save Log Snapshot
If prompted to upload logs, tap No
Log Set #2 - After restarting
Restart your device
Within 5 minutes of restarting, verify the file created using Docs to Go was removed
Open the Help app
Swipe down from the top of the screen, tap Create Report
Tap Save Log Snapshot
If prompted to upload logs, tap No
After completing these steps, open File Manager and browse to documents\logs.
Within two files will appear along the lines of bbswltlog<date>.zip. Tap and hold each file followed by tapping Share
Select your email address and send the log files to supportforums[at]blackberry.com with the subject Attn Ty; Logs from man605

Droid RAZR not restarting after factory reset

Hi,
I just switched from my old Droid 4 to my sister's old Droid RAZR, which she had no problems with when she last used it. After switching my number over and such, I decided to do a factory reset to wipe off all her information. However, now it won't restart and it's been over an hour since I did the factory reset. It just sits at the eye-looking page and doesn't go any further. Any suggestions on what to do?

iPad constantly glitching/freezing/crashing/parts of screen unresponsive - time for a factory reset OR a trip to the Apple store???
My son has nothing but problems with his iPad Mini. It is less than a year old and it constantly freezes/crashes/glitches and parts of the screen are unresponsive. This happens while playing games, watching movies, surfing the net etc etc
The iPad has been in a heavy duty Survivor case from day 1 and has been very well taken care of - so I don't think it's a damage issue
I have tried numerous resets (just holding the 2 buttons) and have disabled every feature on the iPad that might be causing memory/RAM issues (?) all to no avail.
I haven't tried resetting to factory settings as I don't want to lose all the data on the iPad (mostly his game achievements and Minecraft maps that he has worked so hard on!!!)
SO - any suggestions:
1) Take it in to the Apple Store - I have never gone to Apple over an issue, is this possibly covered by warranty???
2) Factory Reset - If I do this can I save all his game achievements/data???

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. EA6500 requires a factory reset to maintain high transfer speeds

I purchased an EA6500 (AC1750) and a WUMC710 (AC1300) media connector, and I have a 300mbps internet connection at home.
If I power cycle the router, my speed tests drop to 5mbps. If I do a factory reset, they jump back to 300mbps.
The AC1300 loses connection from the router every 2-3 days and needs to be re-sync'd and once a week the router loses its internet connection and needs to be restarted, which means that I have to do a factory reset.
I have read about the 5ghz being a little flakey, which may account for the AC1300 dropping out, which is terrible for something that is meant to be 'always on'. Has anyone else experience the need to continually factory reset their router?

It is already off. The only thing that has been changed from the factory defaults is that the wireless is enabled, WPA2 personal the 5ghz is restricted to wireless-ac and I changed the router password.
I think that Jake is right, either re-flash the firmware or return it.

Factory Reset error in the end

I have Envy 6 1012TX.
Operating system : Windows 7
Made a recovery USB drive using HP Support Assistant and then installed Windows 8.1 but i didn't like it so thought to recover my windows 7 using my recovery usb.
1.Plugged in the usb.
2.Booted it.
3.Selected the Factory Reset Option.
Every thing went well,system restarted a few times,Hp software installer was working fine,Windows 7 logo appeared,loaded drivers and all
BUT then this came up.
"Setup is preparing your computer for first use"
then
"welcome"
then
"Restoration incomplete
Please select one of the following buttons"
1.Save log 2.Details 3.Retry

Once unit is powered on keep tapping the F2 key and run the Hard drive & Memory test on the unit if the test passes you can call HP technical support and order a set off recovery disc or click on the link given below to order the recovery disc online.

IOS 7 upgrade problem forced factory reset

I decided to try IOS 7 on my iPad 2. That was a huge mistake! After several attempts to download, it finally completed. The Install button was finally active, so I tried to install, and it indicated that the update was not available. I tried this several times with no luck. Finally I decided to try it from the PC. I loaded iTunes and saw that there was an IOS software update available, but in order to do that I had to upgrade iTunes to 11.1. Well, the Download iTunes Update button clicks but doesn't actually do anything. I eventually wound up just going to iTunes and downloading it again. It went through the install and finally updated.
So I connected the iPad and it tried to load the IOS 7 update. In the middle of that iTunes just closed, no errors, nothing. Opening it back up, it tells me I must reset my iPad to factory settings. At this point I'm boiling, but I went ahead with it because I figured I would be able to just restore from a backup, which I fortunately created before all of this started.
Well, iTunes was able to load the IOS 7 update on the iPad, but after it restarted from the factory reset, things have once again taken a turn for the worst. Now when I connect the iPad, it tries to access iTunes store, and tells me it can't, and to check the network and try again. Everything else that I do online is working fine from the PC so I know it's not that, but I restarted anyway. No change.
So now I have an iPad 2 with IOS 7 in factory reset state, that I can't restore from backup or even get connected in iTunes. I only bought this iPad in the last month, so I supposedly have 90 days support from Apple, but every method I try to get support for it is either to send it in or take it to an Apple store. This is a nightmare. What should I do?

My iPad 3 downloaded ios7, rebooted, started to execute the installation (same as my iPhone did).
Then it got hung up half way through the execution.
Have stared at the boot screen with a bar showing half-loaded for 12 hours.
Several times tried hard reboot. Keeps getting stalled at half way.
About to turn it into a discuss and throw it into the ditch!!

HT3728 Does factory reset go back to latest firmware update.

I have resently updated my airport express to latest firmware. The airport express is configured as an extension to my wifi with an Extreme as main device.
Shortly after the firmware update (1-2 days) the express stopped working and status light turned yellow.
I have since then tried to do factory reset several times without getting the device up and running again.
When doing factory reset the status light turns yellow after releasing the button and stays amber with short interval with green (1 second every minute or so)
I have not been able to discover the express from my iPad, iPone or iMac again.
Could the reaons be latest firmware update?
Any advice to get it back to normal?

Does factory reset go back to the latest firmware update.
A Factory Default Reset will not affect the installed firmware.
Shortly after the firmware update (1-2 days) the express stopped working and status light turned yellow.
A solid amber light is unfortunately an indication that the internal power supply inside the AirPort Express is failing, or has failed.
I have since then tried to do factory reset several times without getting the device up and running again.
The AirPort Express has failed, and will need to be replaced.
When doing factory reset the status light turns yellow after releasing the button and stays amber with short interval with green (1 second every minute or so)
This is yet another confirmation that the Express has failed, and will need to be replaced.

How to restore an X61s (MBR?) to access ThinkVantage Factory Reset

Hello Community,
I read several posts regarding different kind of boot problem scenarios, but nothing fit so far..
I can successful boot into the Windows XP Professional partition; but somehow I messed up all my network drivers during a bluetooth software experiment. Tired of trying different drivers, but, hey, no problem, there is a hidden 6 GB Lenovo partition on the harddrive that is supposed to reset the X61s to factory settings.
However I cannot boot into that partition. A collegue has an X61s as well; when he presses the blue ThinkVantage button on restart he gets to that Recovery / Factory Reset screen. When I press that button I only get a choice of [ESC] Continuing to boot, entering the bios or [F12] choosing a different boot device. I'm assuming that this somehow has to do with me resetting the MBR to a "standard one" with one the many MBR tools out there. (I tried GRUB on there last year for an Ubuntu installation that I removed already by now.)
So I copy the 512 MBR from my collegue, write it to my MBR (MBRWizard); as a result the Windows partition doesnt boot anymore (dead cursor top left). Booting again from my Utilities CD (thank god I have an external USB drive), restoring to that "standard" MBR.
At this point I don't care about the factory recovering anymore and try the Win XP Pro DVD from my desktop; after all I have the product key printed on the bottom of the X61s. Result: Bluescreen; possibly harddrive failure; which I cannot confirm returning to HD scans from the running Xp partition.
So now I am puzzled: How can I reset my X61s to the factory standard or install a new XP on it?
How can I get the original ThinkVantage button rescue screen back? (As suggested in a different forum post, I installed the latest Rescue&Recovery 4.2, but no differences) I found a link to an MBR repair DISK to download from Lenovo. Don't have an external drive; so also no option.
Could anybody please point me in the direction from here? I'm ... lost.... : /

Sorry. That was mostly just boiling rage after someone walked into the office in the middle of the day and stole multiple phones. (We develop iOS apps…) We were googling frantically and trying to figure out:
"Okay, so we locked the phones. WTH, they just showed up at Smith Street? Okay, well we offerered a reward. Is someone gonna reset them and sell them? Can they even reset them? Should we erase the phones? Are they already bricked if they're locked? Does erasing the phone protect data? Or does it just unlock it and hand it to the thief on a silver platter?"
So long story short, we erased them. Then became unclear whether that protected the data or whether it really just performed a factory reset and made the phones resellable. At any rate it's pretty clear they're not coming back.
Bottom line: the euphemism of 'lost phone' is frustrating when you can pretty clearly watch your phone getting stolen. Given the number of phones that do get stolen, it's frustrating that it's so difficult to track down what the different options are actually doing and what the ultimate fate of your phone will be.
Question 1: We click 'Lost Mode.' Is there a way for someone to do a factory reset and sell the phone?
Question 2: We clock 'Erase phone.' Is there a way for someone to do a factory reset and sell the phone?
