Factory Resetting 1130AG's with Mode button gives 'invalid image'

I'm working on a project for a non-profit and I've run into the following issue when trying to factory reset an 1131AG in LWAP attempting to reflash to Autonomous mode. I am using a Linksys2000P for POE in L2 mode to power the AP and a Mac running tftp on 10.0.0.250 :

I will agree with Scott. The output you've posted is showing the IOS is corrupt.
Check with you administrator or just reset the password.
Unfortunately, Ravi is from Sales so he really doesn't know what he's talking about.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

Air AP1252AG reset with mode button

One of my interns was sent to diagnose an access point being out of service. They cycled the POE to the device but it would still not work corectly. They noticed that the LEDs of the device were RED for ethernet and green for radio. The center LED was not illuminated. According the intern (it's his 3rd week) he googled how to reset the device and read that all he needed to do was remove power, hold mode down, then reapply power while holding the mode button down and after 30 seconds it would be reset. So he did just that, and none of the LED's came on. So he power cycled the device and now all three LED's come on RED and the device is a paperweight.
Is there any way to fix the AP or is it dead?

All red LEDs on a 1250 looks like a software failure.
Checking the Access Point LEDs
Probably just getting it to an easy place to work, then Reloading the Access Point Image will take bring it back to life.

Can you factory reset a laptop with a non genuine Windows 7?

A few years ago, my mother bought a laptop for a pretty good price from some guy. After a few days, it gave her a message that Windows 7 on that laptop was not genuine. Then I started using it and downloaded a program to get rid of the message and allow me to set pictures as my background. The laptop, over time, became slow and the memory was quickly being used (only because there was no antivirus on it and it barely had any memory). I gave it to my cousin, and my mother asked for money for it.
As I was ridding the laptop of all the useless programs it would no longer need, the thought of factory resetting never crossed my mind. Today, I thought of it, and I was wondering if it's possible to factory reset a laptop that doesn't have a genuine Windows. Or would it mess it up? As soon as my cousin gets another charger for it, I wanted to try it out and see if that would speed the laptop up by a lot and make it feel brand new. Or would Windows be gone or ask for an activation code?

Just so no viewers get confused, it's the 9 GB partition that contains the recovery image. So if you don't have that big one, you can't restore from the disk.
The 1.46 GB partition is marked Active because it has the boot files. It also contains the recovery environment. (Microsoft likes to name the partition with Windows the Boot partition, but it doesn't have the boot files.)

Once completed I would like to do a complete reset so that all of my data and preferences would be gone and I can set up the iMac as if a new unit with my grandson as the administrator/owner/user.

How to factory reset Macbook Air with Mavericks

I work at a pawn shop and have a Macbook air with OS X 10.9 installed. I need to be able to reset this, so the previous owner's information is not compromised before selling it. When powering on the Mac I am unable to use any boot commands to get to terminal or recovery options because a screen with a lock and a password entry box show up. How can I bypass this to reset the mac?

I have addressed the issue with the other team members going forward, but I still have potentially 1-4 months of affected inventory...which is potentially a huge financial loss.
I don't doubt that this particular machine was tested before it was purchased, but if the general assumption was, passwords are no big deal, we can just boot to recoery mode and reset the mac later, then this would have been no cause for concern.
either way, I have to find away around this for my current inventory. I will get some torx screw drivers and try removing the ram.

Issue with nav buttons in an image gallery

I'm very new to flash and am using CS4/AS3. I have three image galleries of three images each. The images load dynamically from files on my computer. I've set it up so that when you click on a tab, you see a different set of three images.
The images load properly and it works to click forward to view them (that is, clicking on the image itself or the forward nav arrow). The issue I'm having is with the backward nav arrow. I keep geting an error message "Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found" when I click it.
The backward nav arrow works on the first gallery (egypt gallery) if I click that one first. But it doesn't work on the other two, and if I click back to the Egypt gallery after having been in the other two galleries, the back navigation no longer works in their either.
Basically, I want the user to be able to click on a tab to load the images, and then be able to click back and forth between the images. If they reach the last image in a gallery, I just want it to stop advancing and stay put on the final image, but for the user to be able to click backwards through them if desired. My code is pasted below (I'm sure it's more complicated than it needs to be... just a result of me being a complete novice!)
Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks so much.

You want to have the trace triggered when the problem occurs, so if the problem occurs when you use your back button, then you want to tie it in to that somehow. I don't know why you are trying to trace all that you show. The main thing you want to find out is why it is not finding the file, which will be defined by whatever value it is trying to use as a url. Try to focus on the data you need to see and not just anything that comes to mind.

Multi monitor with splitter only gives mirror image

i have a mac intel based 10.5.6 (i know i need an update) i ordered a minidvi to vga adapter but i thought that i could use a splitter to move my mouse to the two other monitors but it only gives me a mirror image and i dont know if i could change that. Any ideas?

The adapter worked but the refresh rate is very fragmented and i cant get a clear movement of pictures and it is also slowing my other monitors down. my guess is that it requires additional software and a load of adapters which i think is messed up. I have 10.5.8 now and do not see much a difference. the first monitor that attached was throught the mini dvi on that back with a vga adapter and it works like a charm on 1920x1080. is there any kinf of mini dvi "hub" or expander to give me one extra port?

Incredible 2 ...Screen & Buttons Unresponsive...Cant Factory Reset...what now?

This is a replaecment phone Ive had for 32 days. It wasnt dropped and had no water damage. SImply stopped functioning. The 4 bottom buttons wont work, he screen barely recognizes touch. It wont factory reset, and to top it all off, my Settings App "is no longer installed" on my phone. **bleep** could have happened? This is some weird **bleep** and its maddening, seeing as how it woeked one moment and the next...nothing. Any advice? Will the insurance company or Verizon replace this? What a racket...

Try resetting with this method...
Press the Power buttonfor 3 - 5 seconds.
Select Power off.
If the device isn't responding proceed with step 3.
Remove / replace the battery.
Press and hold the Volume down key then press and hold the Power buttonfor 3 to 5 seconds.
When the HBOOT screen appears, release the Volume down key.
Press the Volume key to select FACTORY RESET then press the Power button.
This boot process takes several moments. If the device hangs or freezes, remove / replace the battery.
Perform Initial Activation / Setup.

My tablet has been reasonably unstable from day 1, even pre-installed apps like ebuddy force close, I have tried removing and reinstalling the app but it still force closes immediately. I also have a heap of other apps that force close on my tablet but run fine on colleagues tablets (4 of us bought them together)

i tried to install an update and now i have nothing but a tablet with a running logo. i have read everything on this site and i am very confused about what to do. i have tried several suggestions (wiing the cache, data and trying to reboot) but i get nowhere. i am not great with the computer stuff so past the relatively simple steps i get lost inthe tech language. going to a site and downloading to a SD card would be easy if there was just one place and not so many different ones that have multiple options and steps. Is there a simple explanation as to what i can do to get my TPT1 working again? i dont know why Lenovo doesnt have a something to download on their website since getting bricked seems to happen often. I called tech support and got told they couldnt help me as it was out of warranty and a new board is $575! All they offered was what is in the manual which doesnt cover this situation as factory restore doesnt work. i really would like to get it working again.LAlady

My laptop is model PSLC8U-03701Q it was bought in 2009 and it's running on windows 7 ( I know absolutely nothing about laptops so bare with me) im trying to factory reset but the 0 (zero) button way of doing it doesn't work and yes I am doing it right, it just beeps then starts like nothing, the f8 and f12 options dont help and the restore points are only like a month ago, I have looked in every file and it does not give any factory reset option, please help before I lose my mind xoxo !

Here's the problem. Your system is just a little too old. Consequently, it was before Toshiba started putting the recovery partition (which is what you're trying to start) on their hard drives.
So, if you have it, or can search around and find it, you need the Toshiba Recovery Disk(s) that came with your system when it was new. Then, you want to put that in the CDROM/DVD drive, boot up off that drive (you can try holding the 'C' key down on power up; or press the F12 key as soon as you see the Toshiba splash screen on power up -> then select the 'Optical Disk Drive' to boot from).
If you no longer have that disk, then you can order it from Toshiba, go to the Toshiba Repair Page, and scroll down to the 'Get Recovery Media' section, input your unit's serial number (look on the Toshiba label on the bottom where you found your part number) and press 'Go'.
This is defintely the best way to rebuild your system.
Let us know when you have finished the recovery, if you need anymore help in updating your system, or with a new anti-virus program.

Factory Reset not Working U310 touch

Purchased this laptop a few months ago for daughter to take to college in a few weeks. It constantly hung up and wouldn't shut down so I tried to do a factory reset using the One-Key button on the side. The screen said it worked and gave me the option of shutting down or restarting so I tried to restart but now it is just spinning. It just spins and spins (the icon) for hours. How long should this take? Should I interrupt this with a hard stop or try something else. This is the second "factory" reset I've tried and I am not getting a good feeling about this.

Definitely having issues restoring the laptop to factory defaults. It goes through the restore, then this time I opted to shutdown. Waited 15 minutes and then hit the power button. Screen just sits there displaying "Lenovo" and the rotating dots just turn and turn. It has been 10 minutes. Even my old dell boots faster than that. What do I do now? There are no optical drives and the boot option never takes me to a Bios.

I did a factory reset on my HP Touchpad to give to my son as a christmas gift. However, I boot the system up then select English, Then select the Country United States and the system hangs Its been doing this for a couple days. I then shut down the system turned it back on and does the same thing over and over. I go to my www.palm.com and log in and the WebOS doctor does not show up on my profile. Does anyone know how to install the software back on the TouchPad so I can get it back up and running?

They are .jar files. These are executable java files. Some browsers have been known to change the extension to .zip by mistake. Try using a different browser to d/l the file.
Go to www.java.com and let the website check your installation for the latest version.
Be sure you have the latest install of java on your PC.
Did you get the large USB symbol before proceeding? You will need the novacom drivers.
If the process fails, rinse and repeat! Reboot everything (you have tried holding both power and center buttons depressed on the TP for >15 seconds, right?) and try again.
Good luck, and be patient - I've seen the doctor pause for 10 - 15 minutes before proceeding...

P780 boot loop after factory reset

From couple of days ago I started to get popups saying "android ____ .com" or something and every time I clicked OK the message would pop up again not letting me press anything but the OK button continuesly.. so I powered off the phone I powered back up again and my phone wouldn't boot anymore. The screen said "Encryption Unsuccessful" and then there was a "Factory Reset" button right below - nothing happens when I clicked it So I went on and performed a factory reset by entering recovery mode (power button + volume up + volume down) and after it didn't work I went back to recovery mode and tried "clear cache" which didn't work so I then went to factory mode (power button + volume up) and cleared data by selecting MMC or something (it was in chinese) What happens next is, the phone enters a boot loop. It boots, shows the Lenovo logo, then turns off, then boots again, Lenovo logo, turns off, and so on. I wasn't even able to turn off the phone so I clicked that red reset button at the back I didn't try removing the battery or SD card How do I go from here?

I would like to add, whilst I was using the pin clips on the pins near the bios chip, I let the system run until it would beep. During this time, the CPU fan ran really really hard. Have I damaged the CPU somehow?
