Factory Restore Locked iPod Touch

Ok, first off, I know there are plenty of people who have found or stolen ipods. And I have done extensive research on restoring a locked unit. I want to restore it to factory defaults. I do not care about the original owner's stuff, and want it completely erased. I know it's next to impossible to believe every situation. But if you can lend some help, it would be appreciated.
Here is my situation:
I bought a busted ipod. I fixed the digitizer and the LCD. The passcode screen popped up. I contacted the seller, but have had no response. I have fully charged the battery
After several misses, it now says "Ipod is Disabled. Connect to iTunes", which from browsing these forums seems common.
Additional information:
I obviously do not have the original computer it was synced.
I have tried Restore mode, but it will not go into that mode.
I have tried DFU mode, but it will not go into that mode either.
When I connect it I do here an beep from my speakers, telling me it detects the device.
I have tried several jailbreak programs for Windows, and all state it will not go into DFU mode.
I have tried connecting it to both a Windows XP and Windows 7 machine.
I have shut the unit completely off, held both buttons until the Apple logo shows, and release the sleep button.
I have tried all combinations of button holding and ensured I held the home button after it boots for approximately 30 seconds. I have tried the hold both buttons and releasing the sleep button with it plugged into to my USB, and holding both buttons then plugging it in.
No matter what I do, I can not get this to restore.
All I want to do is completely erase the unit and restore it.
Can anyone help me, please?

I am in the exact same situation I bought a iPod Touch with a broken screen and got the screen replaced and now it comes up with iPod disabled . Connect to iTunes. I cant get it into DFU mode or to restore and the seller is nowhere to be found. There must be a way.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

ITunes will not restore locked ipod touch 4

I'm afraid I have a password locked iPod 4. I've searched the forums and i've put it in recovery mode when connecting with my iTunes account. However, this is a new Mac laptop (my old PC laptop that I used to sync the iPod with iTunes is fried). This is the first time this iPod has been connected with this Mac.
I go through to clicking on restoring it and it starts the process then gives me this message:
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "iPod". The network connection timed out.
Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later."
I have tried quite a number of times and I keep getting that message.
I'd be really grateful for any advice.

The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Can someone explain step by step how i can restore my iPod Touch to the way it was when i bought it? hate to do something and make a mistake. You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPod nano (7th generation) touch screen. I recommend the following steps for the issue you described (you can skip the steps you have already tried):
Touch screen does not accept input
Clean the screen with a microfiber polishing cloth.
Do not wear gloves while using the touchscreen. Do not use the touchscreen with wet hands or immediately after applying hand lotion. Moisture affects touchscreen behavior in the same manner as it affects a trackpad.
If you have a protective plastic sheet or film on the touchscreen, try removing it, because it may be preventing the touchscreen from working properly.
The current application may be unresponsive; try resetting iPod by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home buttons simultaneously for a least six seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Sync with iTunes and restore the iPod.

The iPod backup that iTunes makes includes Notes.and other app data. However, it does not included synced media like apps and music.
Thus, just restore from backup with all your synced media in your iTunes library.
