Factory Settings Restore ... for what??!!

I know that it will restore all origional phone settings ...
But for example ... in my N95 8GB ... I want to know exactly what are these settings that is included in the reset ...
I want to try it but I don't want to lose something that I didn't expected to lose...
is there a list of these settings ?

No data is lost with a revert to factory default settings (*#7780#).
You'll just have to set up your theme, profiles and menu style again.

Installed latest softward for my ipad 2 and now it want's me to connect to iTunes and restore to factory settings!? What do I do? I can't access the iPad2 other than a screen that shows a plug being inserted into the iTunes logo.

So I saw that my software needed to be updated, so I did it over wifi, then a picture with the plug being inserted into the iTunes logo appears on the screen when finished the install. I plug my iPad 2 into the connector and iTunes sees the iPad 2 connected. Then a window opens that says to restore to use iTunes. I click restore and a second message appears stating something to the effect "Are you sure you want to restore to factory setting all info will be lost."
NO I don't want to loose everything.
My iPad only powers on with the image of a cord pugging into the iTunes logo. I can't get past it and I don't want to restore the iPad 2 to factory settings.
What do I do?
Any help would be appreciated.

You do what it says. Your iPod encounterd an error and y have to restore the iPod. That happens sometimes..
Just resync your media to the iPod after restoring.
If necessarey, you can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Ipad mini needs to be restored to factory settings after ios7 what will i lose

young daughter updated ipad mini with ios7.3. ipad now showing only itunes logo and image of connection to computer. connected to computer and itunes saying that ipad is in recovery mode and must be reset to factory settings and i will lose all data. It also says that ipad software is up to date. Not sure what to do, any suggestions?

If it is showing that message, there is no other option other then to restore it in iTunes. That process will wipe everything off it and return it to as it was out of the box.
If you have backups in iTunes or iCloud, you can restore from those once it is working normally again. Anything other than audiobooks purchased from the iTunes or App stores can be re-downloaded if needed.

Iphone 3g Factory Settings Restore

I restored the factory settings on my old Iphone 3g about a week ago now and it's still running. All it does is sit at the apple logo and has a pinwheel rotating. Every so often the screen will flicker like it's going to do something and then goes back into the infinite loop of processing. I've tried doing a hard reboot etc but it goes right back to the same place it was before. Anyone see this before? From what I've read online it is supposed to only take a few hours.

Delete your ipsw file and let iTunes redownload it.

I am a student and I was having trouble logging in at my university. I called IT and they had me change all sorts of things under System Preferences - Network. They had me add a location and set the IP address manually. Now I am having trouble getting online anywhere else. I just want the network settings to be how they were when I got the computer 3 months ago and my ability to access technical support from apple just ended on Nov. 30 so I would really appreciate anyone's help.

Just tried this and it worked for me. Go into Network preferences and click the lock to allow you to make changes. Hit the minus key to delete all your different accounts. Once they are all gone you can add what you need back I usually use airport so that is the only one I brought back on line.

after succesfully putting my ipod into disk mode, i was able to restore the mini ipod. however the message says it has been restored and is restarting, but it seems to be taking a very long time - over an hour already.! Is this normal or is there something wrong? How long should it take? Formatting the iPod shouldnt take any longer than a few minutes.
First of all, try clicking on the little x in the top corner, which might take you to the next stage in the process. Sometimes it gets stuck.
If this doesnt work, shut down the computer, disconnect the iPod, restart the computer, run the updater again, and connect the iPod when prompted.

I have a Nokia E71 with Straight Talk and have tried everything to get this phone reset. Contacted Straight talk, Nokia costumer care, third party companies and still no help. So heres my issue.
I just want to do a Factory reset to my phone and start over. Only problem is when I go into settings and try to, it asks for a "Lock Code" well I can't remember my code when I use to use the phone a year or so ago. Therefore cannot do a system restore without it. Ive even tried the default code "12345" and no luck. Is there anyone that can help or tell me how to reset the phone so it will be original again? There has to be a way to bypass that Lock Code and restore the phone. HELP!! Thanks

Plug it into iTunes and select the iPod on the left, click restore, however all data on the iPod will be lost and will need to synced again from iTunes which should have most of the iPod data if synced recently.

My phone had to be replaced. I backed up to the cloud and when I got home I thought it would upload to my phone, but it didn't. I restored to previous backup on computer and now that's wrong. Can I restore to factory settings/restore to my cloud?

No. Syncing transfers iTunes content to your devices. Backing up stores all data (minus iTunes content) that you have on your phone, and can be loaded onto a different device or reloaded onto an existing device.
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Let the device power down and back up. Go through the setup screen and DO NOT select restore from iTunes backup. Instead, choose iCloud backup, sign in with your Apple ID and select the correct backup.

Laptop was turned off during a factory settings restore

It was nearly finished and my 3 year old turned off my Toshiba. Now I cant get it to turn on at all. The Toshiba name flashes on then black. I've tried all the f' keys and zero key. Nothing. I don't know what to do. I use this for my photography business. Please help. I called Toshiba and he said I have to send it to a repair facility.

I would try recovery again to see if you could burn the recovery media yourself to save the money.
