Fade In Issue MBP

I'm using Logic 7.2.3 and everytime I record a file, the fade in field shows an * as opposed to 0. This is on every file no matter if I select in a group or just an individual file. Even entering a number in the field only brings back the * and any change is not additive but a completely new fade.
Has anyone else come across this problem?
I am thinking it is time for a reinstall of Logic.

i have the same problem on my iMac 24. Intel bug maybe?

  • Fallout 2 problems - NOT fade out issue

    Hi
    I recently wanted to run fallout 2 , so i installed it without any problems and run with wine.(0.9.19)
    Everything is okay ,fade out issue doesent exist horray
    but i have other problem - mouse pointer. In menus everything is okay ,but in game mouse pointer acts weird ,it is hery hard to move it.Impossible to play
    It is weird because when i turn on menu in game pointer run normally ,it acts good even when it is at lower side on the screen in game(where weapons are shown ,etc)
    I have tried various remedy but none works ,on wine db ,noone solved this problem.
    Anyone run into this problem ,any solution ?
    PS.in cedega game is unplayable beacause of fade in out problem even after renicing ,but pointer acts good so it is definately wine problem

    I havent played fallout in a long time so i don't know if it has this option but check for hardware/software mouse pointer. Maeby that setting will solve the issue.

  • Having software issues, MBP mid 2012 won't boot

    I recently had my MBP fail to boot, it would only load to a flashing folder with a question mark on it. I've had many suggestions as to what could be causing it, and so far I've disproven a couple. It isn't an issue with the hard drive, as I've run the extensive hardware test and everything checked out fine. Also, I took it in to geek squad since I had a membership with them and they also said the hardware was fine. They checked the SATA interface wire and it also checked out okay. They said that it was a software issue that was unavoidable, so they backed up my hard drive, wiped it clean, did something that they call "removing excess security titles," put the data back on my laptop and gave it back. It worked fine for all of 6 hours (6 total, only 1 hour of use) and then crashed again. The blinking "?" folder appeared again. Also, when I boot with the option key held, or command + R and then enter disk utility, my hard drive still does not appear in the startup manager or the disk utility window that usually lists hard drives found. "Macintosh HD" does not appear anywhere, and neither does "Recovery HD". The only drive I can get to show up is my external drive that I use for time machine. this means that I cannot select the drive (Macintosh HD) that I wish to place my time machine backup onto. Please let me know if anyone else has had this issue, and let me know if there are any suggestions on how to resolve this issue (preferred without taking it to apple store, dont have any near me.) Thanks in advance.
    I posted a related question yesterday, so if you would like some more background info on the matter, you can read this one as well.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/26090958#26090958

    Resolved this issue myself, and have decided to never trust Geek Suqad with any of my tech again. The issue was simply a faulty SATA cable. I didnt buy an external enclosure, but I did get a friend to let me pop the hood on his MBP and swap SATA's for a couple minutes. It booted perfectly to my desktop without any lag.
    Reasons why Geek Squad will never see me again...
    1. They charged me $80 for a data backup when I could have easily done that myself at home.
    2. They misdiagnosed my problem as a "software issue." Gave it back and issue wasnt fixed.
    3. Took it back in and they misdiagnosed it again. Since they determind the HDD was fine, they automatically      assumed it was the logic board and wanted to charge me $500-$600 on the spot to ship it to repair facilities and      have it fixed.
    4. A 19 year old kid equipped with Google and Youtube (me) was able to diagnose, confirm, and repair something      in 1.5 hours that they couldnt even correctly diagnose in 4 days of working on it.
    5.That "removed excess security titles" thing I mentioned... Yeah all they did was go into my applications and      delete one of my antivirus apps and my battery health app. They said that sometimes viral protection apps can      compete with one another and cause damage. That makes absolutely no sense to me!!
    Needless to say, NEVER trust your computers with Geek Squad. They can't even correctly diagnose a faulty WIRE.
    Lesson Learned: Always take Apple products to Apple technicians regardless of discounts elsewhere.

  • Fade Effect Issue with table structure

    I have an existing HTML page with a table framework that uses
    CSS divs in some of the table rows. My SPRY data is currently
    wrapped in DIV tags within the table. I've discovered that the
    table is screwing up the fade effect in IE7. Is there any way I can
    get around this without removing the table and recoding the whole
    page in CSS? FYI...I using version 1.4. I'm not sure if 1.5 will
    fix this issue.

    Essentially the fade in fade out effect isn't working at all
    in IE. It's setup as a slideshow and uses the fade effect as a
    transition between the spry data. The slideshow works fine just
    without the fade effect. Everything works perfectly in Firefox
    though. I know this code will work as we have used it before, the
    only thing different is that I have my DIV with the SPRY content
    wrapped within a table cell and row. I've read that the TR tag
    cannot be used, but it's not exactly using the TR as an ID. Once I
    comment out the table, tr, and td tags, the effect works no problem
    so I know it is the table. I can't give you the URL because it's on
    our local network.

  • Freeze, Glitchy UI, GPU Issue MBP 10,1

    I am having a glitchy ui and freezes. Glitchy UI is constant (like effects while opening stacked folders) and green lines while switching between gpu cards. And having freezes which sometimes end with an complete freeze (put itself to self-restart),
    I have already tried repairing permissions resetting PRAM and SMC
    But I migrated from MBP 8,2 with Time Machine Backup on OS X Mavericks and installed Yosemite. So clean install might solve but I didn't try it yet.
    There is specs and LOG after last freeze (didn't last with complete freeze). Sorry for the long log.
    Thanks.

  • Connection issue MBP to Mac Pro

    i have an old issue where when i access my mac pro from my MBP it is called "MyName Mac Pro (2)" and i have always wanted to get rid of the "(2)" because it annoys me that i cannot control why it is there.
    now i have an issue where the Mac Pro just comes up with a blank Finder window and shows that i am connecting via my iCloud account email address (which seems just plain bizarre) and i can't get the "disconnect" to work so i can't access my desktop from the laptop.
    anyway i am going to turn off wifi and try to connect again but i would like to solve this name issue and if anyone has any tips on either of these issues it would be great.
    TIA

  • 10.5.4 update re-ignites old issue MBP fails to see battery, runs AC only

    I upgraded my original MacBook Pro to 10.5.4 yesterday and almost immediately had the same issues that I and others reported in this forum around the time of the 10.4.9 and 10.4.10 updates. (see threads 4796166 & 974017).
    The exact problem is that after the update the MBP will not boot up without the AC power connected - even though it can see the internal battery and reports it's charge level normally. For example my battery (this machine's 3rd and at 245 cycles) is showing 99% charge, but if I remove the magsafe connector it will immediately power-off - exactly as if it was a battery-less desktop machine and the mains power was suddenly cut. To be clear this is not a sleep or staged shutdown - it just stops dead.
    If you then try to power-up using the power button the machine starts to power up but immediately (less than a second) stops and goes back to full power-off mode. Reconnect the magsafe and everything works fine. Resetting PMU/SMC has no effect - behaves the same.
    I managed to get around it last time but it was a fix that only lasted a few weeks. In the end I had to replace the battery with a new one. I'm really annoyed that although this problem was previously reported by many people in the forums, Apple appear to have paid no heed and are still putting out updates that result in dead batteries that have to be replaced.
    OK rant over.
    If you have the same/similar issue and do/don't manage to get around it please post in here for all.

    The battery has always been re-calibrated roughly every 2/3 weeks. The problem also does not appear to be any of the issues on that list fro BatteryUpdater1.2. Also the Leopard 10.5.4 runs with Battery Updater 1.3 rather than 1.2 and (besides getting a little too warm) the problems only started 24hrs or so after the update (ie at first disconnection from mains AC under 10.5.4).
    As this is the 3rd battery I've had in the machine and it (the battery) is just under a year old, I took it back to the reseller this morning and I'll be getting a new battery on the warranty.
    In the meantime the MBP is running on the previous battery which, having been sitting unused in the box for a year, now appears to be working fine after a full 'calibration charge'. I think I'm sorted!

  • UIImageView alpha fade animation issues

    I'm a newbie iPhone developer going very well, almost finished my first app minus this one issue which I am a little embarrassed to be asking but...
    I have a UIImageView that I have animated to fade (alpha value) over the period of 60s. After the animation a UIButton displays. In addition by tapping you can force the alpha value of the UIImageView down as to make the animation appear faster. But I am having trouble determining when the alpha value of my UIImageView is below zero - so that I can display the button - even though the animation is still running. Here is my code:
    - (void)fadeTheImageView
    [fadeImageView setAlpha:1.0];
    [UIView beginAnimations:@"theAnimation" context:NULL];
    [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self];
    [UIView setAnimationDidStopSelector:@selector(yourAnimationHasFinished:finished:context :)];
    [UIView setAnimationDuration:10];
    [fadeImageView setAlpha:0.0];
    [UIView commitAnimations];
    - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event {
    if ( fadeImageView.alpha <= 0.0 ) {
    [saveButton setHidden:NO];
    [fadeImageView setAlpha:(fadeImageView.alpha - 0.1)];
    - (void)yourAnimationHasFinished:(NSString *)animationID finished:(BOOL)finished context:(void *)context;
    [saveButton setHidden:NO];
    The error is with the if ( fadeImageView.alpha <= 0.0 ) {
    incompatible variable types.
    I've tried everything.
    Any help would be appreciated

    I've worked around the problem.
    What I have done is to animate the alpha of the button along side the UIImageView.
    So no need to rely on that conditional.
    - (void)fadeTheImageView
    UIImage *fadeImage = [UIImage imageNamed:@"Base.png"];
    fadeImageView.image = fadeImage;
    [fadeImageView setAlpha:1.0];
    [saveButton setHidden:NO];
    [saveButton setAlpha:-10.0];
    [UIButton beginAnimations:@"saveButton" context:NULL];
    [UIButton setAnimationDuration:30];
    [saveButton setAlpha:1.0];
    [UIButton commitAnimations];
    [UIView beginAnimations:@"theAnimation" context:NULL];
    [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self];
    [UIView setAnimationDidStopSelector:@selector(yourAnimationHasFinished:finished:context:)];
    [UIView setAnimationDuration:30];
    [fadeImageView setAlpha:0.0];
    [UIView commitAnimations];
    - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event {
    [saveButton setAlpha:(saveButton.alpha + 1.0)];
    [fadeImageView setAlpha:(fadeImageView.alpha - 0.1)];

  • Bootcamp issues MBP Retina 13" 2015

    Hi all,
    I've been playing with my new mac for a few days now and I've got a few issues - not with OSX, but with Windows 8.1 (Bootcamp).
    Eventually everything installed ok and it's been running fine, however here are the problems:
    1) the force trackpad doesn't work reliably in Windows - Primarily this is related to clicking and dragging, which can take a few tries before it responds properly. Also the right click sometimes doesn't respond at all (though i get the feedback from the force touch track pad). I've tinked with the various settings in the bootcamp control panel but nothing has improved it.
    2) My external monitor, when connected to the MBP via DisplayPort, keeps losing sync and produces a black screen for a few seconds. Initially I though this was completely random, but I can now reliably recreate the issue in some instances - e.g. when i load gmail via googlechrome, it loads fine, but then the screen goes blank for a few seconds. The MBP display doesn't turn off. This happens in both extended display and duplicate display (mirror) modes, at any resolution. the odd thing is it only happens when the monitor is connected via DisplayPort - HDMI and VGA connections work fine. I have to connect via DisplayPort though as I want to run the monitor at its full resolution (2560x1440) which isn't supported on the HDMI output of the MBP. Note every time the monitor drops out, a short, static noise emits from the monitor speakers.
    In relating to 2), i've also noticed an issue when playing YouTube videos - they either play too fast or too slow (causing intermittent monitor dropouts as above). This is really odd! Disconnecting the external monitor and it works fine on the MBP.
    I suspect both of the above issues are driver related - anyone else had similar issues and/or can offer advice on how to fix??
    Thanks in advance
    Mike

    OK so i've isolated the display issue - it appears to be related to 'hot swapping' - if i boot the macbook in windows (from off) with the display already connected, it works fine with no problem. However, if i connect the display after it's booted, or disconnect and reconnect the display, the problems return.
    I'm guessing this is related to the fact i'm using a thunderbolt port, and it's not hot pluggable in my version of the mac - Thunderbolt ports and displays: Frequently asked questions (FAQ) - Apple Support
    however i'm a bit annoyed as it's not a thunderbolt display - it's a displayport display. I know windows starts up quickly but it's still a pain to have to reboot every time i want to connect a display.
    Anyone any thoughts on this or the trackpad issue?

  • Backlight keyboard issue (MBP 2011)

    Well I installed Lion and my MBP 2011, brand new illuminates when starting up.  It goes bright then dims down to the setting I have (off).  It's annoying but how can you stop it from illuminating at start up.  I tried a SMC reset for my intel MBP i7 computer.  Any other suggestions?

    Try System Preferences>Keyboard and UNCHECK  'Automatically illuminate keyboard in low light'.
    Ciao.

  • Audio Fade Noise Issue

    I am using the latest update of Premiere Pro 7.2.0 (46) on Mac OS X 10.8.5.
    I am mixing some music wav files (48Hz, stereo, 16-bit) and have some audio transitions on them (Constant Power). Whenever I play over those transitions I get some kind of buzzing noise. It doesn't sound like an analog sounding buzz, not sure how to describe it really. It happens only over the course of the transition.
    Keyframing the volume does not cause the same issue. The noise is not present when the file is exported, only when playing back on the timeline. For the most part it does happen, but sometimes it doesn't. This has never happened before, it seems to be isolated to these .wav files but they seem no different than any other .wav file I've worked with. Restarting the program and computer does not solve the issue.

  • IPhone 6 - music fade out issue

    When I take my headphones out while playing music the music continues playing through the iPhone speakers before shutting off a sec later. Is this an issue with my iPhone? Is it because fading out is on and if so is there a way to turn it off?
    This is annoying when I'm in a meeting, I take my headphones out and all of a sudden Taylor Swift mysteriously starts playing from my phone.

    aha. If you synch your phone it delete all music but next time if you delet it manually by phone it transfers the music and next sync it will delete all music again, right? When I have had that trouble I just have to disable iTunes match and delete the music manually if it's not do automatically. Then I could sync it and the music will load and remaining on the phone, also for further syncs.

  • Graphic Issue MBP MID2009

    Hey everyone!
    I'm having some problems with my MBP Mid2009.
    Since two or three days i have these pretty ugly graphic problems.
    http://s7.directupload.net/images/100525/auvkrsa9.png
    Something wrong with my graphics card?
    Thanks in regard.

    If the special efects are there all the time, take your machine to an Apple Store Genius Bar and show them off.
    If your machine is one that has two GPUs, switch to the other GPU. Same problem, or not?
    AHT can't detect problems with the video cable running from the GPU to the display, nor with the LCD panel itself. It's possible that one of those is faulty, and if that's true, the problem will likely show up no matter which GPU is active.

  • Audio on Facetime vidéo issues (MBP Retina)

    Hi,
    I am having an issue on my Macbook Pro Retina 13.
    When i call a friend on vidéo using Facetime, this friend can see me and hear me.
    But during the conversation my voice sundenly kind of mute off some seconds then it is back.
    If I quit Factetime and call this same friend right away (using my same wifi network) i have no audio issues.
    Any idea?

  • Internet Explorer 8 FadeIn/Fade Out issues

    I am curious about how people are dealing with the upcoming
    release of IE8.
    My understanding is that they are changing the way they deal
    with opacity (after at first deciding to drop it altogether), which
    would require updating scripts and/or stylesheets on existing sites
    that use opacity to render images, or even the translucent
    backgrounds that have become prevalent. BTW, this affects any DHTML
    scripts that do FadeIn/FadeOut. I expect that most will not work
    with IE8 without a code change or without adding the following meta
    tag:
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7">
    They've changed the CSS rule from the non standard "filter"
    CSS property to the non-standard "-ms-filter" CSS property.
    I notice that in DW CS4, the filter property is present, but
    not the -ms-filter property in the extensions section of the CSS
    dialog.
    Anyway, I am wondering why I haven't heard more hubbub about
    this. If you are using FadeIn/FadeOut scripts, are you
    1. Updating your sites to support IE8
    2. Updating your sites to apply the META tag so that it runs
    in IE7 compatibility mode?
    3. Ignoring the problem and hoping it (or MS) will go away?
    Or am I worried about nothing?

    When you go to the login page or log out it removes (or attempts to)
    any previous cookies and recreates new cookies.  I have been having a
    problem with Internet Explorer 8 where it seems to be returning
    something to my site that Coldfusion can't handle.  I get
    java.lang.nullPointerException.  The error messages say the error
    occurs either at line -1, with no idea what tag is involved, or line 6,
    which is in the middle of my cfapplication tag.  The diagnostics line
    is always null other than the line number.  From that, though, the
    error seems to occur before my cfapplication tag even runs.
    That suggests to me that the previous cookie is removed, but no new cookie is being created. The null would therefore refer to the non-existent cookie object. One way out might be to create new cookies without attempting to remove previous ones.
