Fade In on iPop touch playlist

I have done a playlist on iTunes and I want to use it on my iPod touch.
But my playlist has be done with Fade In effect.  Playing time is important for me: it's my playlist for the New Year's Eve party and includes a countdown at midnight.
Is it possible to have exactly the same playlist on my iPod, including the Fade In effect?

Ok, so I thought this had been taken care of ... so I just tested it ...
- I have a 160G running firmware v1.0.3
I put three podcasts in the On-the-Go playlist, started the first one and listened to it for a bit, then fast-forwarded to the last ten seconds. When it finished, it went to the next one, which was short, and I listened to it all. Then it went to the third, I fast-forwarded again, to about five seconds left, I listened to the end, then it stopped and went back to Playlist listing (Save, Clear, entry 1, etc)
The only way I've ever been able to get playlists to play in the order I set them up in is by turning "Shuffle" in "Settings", to OFF. Since I've left it that way for a few months, I imagine this is why I don't have problems with this.
It seems an easy fix too. And it is one of the options listed on Maria's Guides (link above). It's also much easier than messing around with all your files and the "Skip When Shuffling" setting.

  • My iPod touch playlists only show up on iTunes under devices and not on the iTouch itself.  On iTunes, I cannot play my songs from the iTouch on iTunes.  Any ideas?

Suddenly in the last 10 days, my iPod Touch playlists don't show up on the iPod unless plugged into iTunes and only under the device section of iTunes. When I try to play a song on my iPod a different song from the library comes up and plays.  Lastly, when I try to play the songs in the iPod library on iTunes when plugged into the computer, an exclamation mark appears to the left of the song title and will not play.  Any ideas?

  • Ipod touch playlists out of order

I have many playlists, several of which are smart playlists for specific albums.  The tracks used to play in order of the album, but now cannot get them to stay in order.  When I synch, I see the songs go back to their original order for a split second, but when syncing is done, they go out of order again.  I've tried deleting the playlist, syncing, loading it again, syncing again...no dice.  And, no, the shuffle is not turned on.  My touch has worked perfectly for several years now, and just started this.  How do I fix this?  Was there a bug in the last updates??  All the forums I see are years old.  This is driving me nuts, please help.

Have you shuffled the playlist? My syncs correctly.

  • Zen Touch Playlist From Compu

I couldn't find anything on this in the FAQ that was definiti've--so here is my question....is the only way to transfer a playlist from a computer by using Creative Mediasource? I can't get WMP0 to work, nor the new Yahoo Music Engine (which works great in every other respect, by the way).
I would love to have the Janus DRM firmware upgrade promised since last fall, but for now even synchronization capability with WMP0 or Yahoo Music Engine (I think if one works, so does the other) would be fine. I am beginning to wonder whether they are ever going to fix this player. I only bought it because they announced LAST SUMMER that the Touch would support Janus DRM.
Anyhow, my real question at this point involves playlists. I don't like to put them on the player directly, as I like to be able to move the order around, etc. and can't figure out how to do this on the player itself. Besides, I find it far easier to pick out tracks on the computer. Thanks.

It's certainly easier?to create and edit playlists via the PC, using any of the software that can do this e.g. MediaSource, and even easier with the?excellent shareware Notmad Explorer.

  • IPod Touch Playlist Question

I know that the Touch (2g) can create Genius playlists, but I was curious if I could make my own playlists (I'm really new to the whole mp3/mp4/etc. player world) on it. Since I am a runner, I'd like to be able choose a handful of songs, put them on a playlist, and then let them repeat while I run. Can I do this on a Touch?
Also, for running, I was considering getting an iPod sensor. Which should I get if I buy the 2g Touch?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi Farhan,
While playing a track in the playlist touch the artwork to summon the "scrub bar", to the left of this is a small oval symbol with tiny arrows, touch this to turn it on (goes blue) to repeat current album or playlist, touch twice to repeat track, third time it goes white and is off.
The symbol on the right "X" is shuffle, but you knew that already.
    Have fun,
    Dud.

  • Zen Touch Playlist Quer

    Hi
Im just about to think about playing with playlists on my Zen Touch 20GB, couple of things though please...
Firstly, do playlists take up much space on your players hard disk at all? Also does the space it takes up differ greatly between a playlist with 0 tracks and a playlist with 9000 tracks?
Secondly, is there a limit to the number of tracks you can have in a single playlist?
Lastly, is there a limit to the number of playlists you can store on your player?
Ooo, also lastly, Is it better to make the playlist in Mediasource and then copy it across or just do it on the player?
    Thanks a load folks

Certainly nothing significant, don't worry about it.
Secondly, is there a limit to the number of tracks you can have in a single playlist?
I believe there is, but it's pretty vast and very rare to encounter.
Lastly, is there a limit to the number of playlists you can store on your player?
Again I believe there is and it's one of those classic powers of 2 e.g. 256. Again, more than enough for normal use.
Ooo, also lastly, Is it better to make the playlist in Mediasource and then copy it across or just do it on the player?
Personally I ALWAYS use the software, just comes down to personal preference though.

  • Zen Touch playlists with MediaSource &

I have a zen touch w/ the updated firmware, and i just updated all the software.. the mediasource suite?
anyhow, I've been using windows media player to sync my zen touch. I just autosynced them on WMP, and it worked just dandy. however, i just downloaded the mediasource suite thing, and none of the playlists that are on my zen touch appear when i look at the zen touch media explorer. is there any way to access them?
The reason why this matters to me is because i'd like to be able to transfer songs from my zen touch to another comp some time and the zen touch media explorer has that feature. and it'd be infinitely easier to do it via playlist than song by song. especially since windows media player organized all the songs into separate folders by artist.
I did look for this question on the forums before i posted, but i didn't see a clear answer.Message Edited by erink02 on -28-2005 0:22 AM

The playlists appear correctly on the player right? If so then this could be a problem with Zen Media Explorer itself, not sure of a fix hopefully someone does.
As for getting songs off your player in that structure (Artist\Album\song_title.mp3) then you can use Windows Explorer/My Computer. Open that up and you should see your player listed, you can then highlight, copy, and paste it onto your computer. Playlists are not recognized in Windows Explorer so you will have a problem with that.

  • Zen Touch Playlist Prob

I JUST got my Touch today, so I am still new to it all. I have updated the Dri'ves, the Firmware to the latest(2.) and the MediaSource to 3.30 with the newest plugins. Now, I am trying to create some play list. I create one that is of a CD, and it transfered the files over nicely. BTW, I am doing this in MediaSource. Then, I went to create a new play list. The one was a mix of about 64 songs, and contianed a few from the CD I had already made. When it transfered over the song to the player, it did not add the songs from the CD already on the player into the play list. So, how do I had a song to a playlist if it is already on the Zen, in another play list, and in another folder? Dragin and droping dose not work, becuase it tries to upload the file. I just want to add the songs back into the play list.

Well, I figure it out. If I try to add a file to a play list, off of the computer hard dri've, it will try to add it AND upload. If it is already on the Zen Touch, it will not upload or add to the play list. So, I had to had the song to the play list by draging it from the Zen Touch, not the computer. That would be something nice to have fixed on the MediaSource software. If you try to add a song to a play list and it is already loaded onthe MP3 player, add it to the play list, not fail to upload and not add.

  • Edit iPod Touch Playlists on iPod itself?

Is there a way to edit regular playlists on iPod Touch itself, without going through iTunes?

Whilst I can appreciate your need, I believe that it would complicate the touch's interface for the vast majority of users. After all, it's essentially a playback device and Apple's philosophy of managing playlists on the far more capable desktop iTunes is a wise one.
Having said that, it would be nice if Apple provided a public API to the touch's iTunes playlists so that third party programmers could provide exactly this functionality, although I can see some potential pitfalls regarding re-syncing such modified playlists back to iTunes without messing things up. For example, Touch DJ is an excellent DJ-ing program somewhat hampered by the fact that it cannot access an existing iTunes library - you have to load music files into the app's own program space in order to use them. This naturally takes up more space than it really ought to.

  • Ipod touch playlist option

when i listen to music and i want to put it on like song repeat, you hit the little squiggly design in the top left corner of the screen twice, you hit it once if you want to repeat the whole playlist, for whatever reason my ipod will play one song and then go back to the main play list screen(it stops playing) but it does keep playing if i put the play list on shuffle, any thoughts?

  • Creative Zen touch Playlist Problem - H

I've had problems with the software on my creative zen touch 20gb since i've had it. All i want to do is learn to creat a playlist of all my favourite tracks. Because of the software problems i've had (and i've tried everything to fix it) the only program it will let me use to synch files is Windows Media Player. I've read all the instructions about how to create a playlist but none of them apply to windows media player. Does anyone know how to create a playlist using the media player. the version i have of the zen touch is 2..0.

Yeah it synch's ok. I can transfer music over no problem, but the difficulty comes in creating a playlist. Say for arguments sake i had 0 albums on my mp3 player. I might want to take individual tracks from each album and put them into a playlist. I cant seem to do that with windows media player.

  • Problem with Zen Touch Playlists Resol

With the help of Jean-Francois, a colleague of my husband's, I figured out the problem I was having with putting playlists on my Zen Touch MP3 player in the order in which I wanted them to play, and it's a simple solution but one I thought I'd pass on to others in case anyone else runs into this problem:
Simply put, when you make playlists, have your MP3 player docked with your computer, and make sure that in the MediaSource Organizer program, the player is highlighted (well, it's a gray bar) when you start making the playlist. Then start with "new playlist," give it a name and enter the songs you want in the order you want as usual. What you're doing is actually building the playlist in the player rather than in the MediaSource Organizer, and the playlist will be created as you want it to be.
If, like me, you then want to transfer the playlist to your computer program, you'll find that it will turn up on the 'puter in alphabetical order (the problem I was having with the Zen Touch player); but it's a simple matter to click'n'drag the songs around until they're in the order you want - and, as far as I can tell, they will stay in that order once you've moved them.
So, problem solved - would have been nice if the User's Guide specifically said "you must dock your Zen Touch player to the computer while making playlists if you want the playlist to be in the proper order on your player," but we figured it out.....

Ok, so i plugged my zen touch into my pc yesterday to transfer files (rmvb) to my lappy, but it wouldn't work. so i updated all the software and now the pc recognizes the zen, but the programs (nomad, organizer) won't recognize it. so i used my laptop and it works fine except that it still won't transfer rmvb files. oh, it used to be able to transfer my rmvb files before this. i'm using windows xp. so i'm assuming that this is not a problem with my lappy or my pc... and it's a problem with the actual mp3. oh by the way, besides trying to fix the rmvb file transfer,
Data files are often a problem with the player. It sounds like you've tried pretty much everything you can short of a disk cleanup from rescue mode.
Failing this you could try formatting the player in case something has become corrupted. Of course make sure to backup the player first.
Also there's lots of advice via the "PC connection problems with your player" link in the FAQ post.
