Fade out music longer than two seconds.... Possible?

I want to fade out my music that I have in my video longer than two seconds. Yet, when manually setting it, the maximum is only two seconds. Am I missing anything, or is the max only two seconds?... Does anyone know if this is possible? It is not possible from within iMovie '08. Use the GarageBand "rubber band" controls for complete continuous control over both the contour and duration of you fades.

  • I can't make a transition longer than 1 second

I have a simple project in FCP X 10.0.6, with a fade-to-black transition at the end of a clip (followed by black generator). I now want to lengthen that fade-to-black, but I can't. It's one second long, and I can make it shorter, but I can't lengthen it, no matter which way I try to do it. Any ideas? Thanks!

Okay, so why can't I make that fade to black longer than one second? I don't mean that I want black to last longer than one second. I mean I want the fade to take more time. It lets me make it shorter, but not longer.

Are you saying that you attach a microphone to your computer and run the Premiere Elements 11 narration feature and can get no more than a 30 second narration .wav file from the feature?

  • Fade in Fade out music

    seriously guys
how in the world do we do fade in and fade out music on the new imovie ?
    its so complicated

But if you want to make a 30 second movie, and your music is 4:45 this doesn't apply. iMovie used to fade it out for you to go with your clip length.
iMovie 10 does have a setting that automatically trims the background music so that the music ends when the video clips end. See this iMovie 10 Help topic -
    Customize movie settings -
    http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0/#mov4e66c1a8b
Particularly see the last dot point in paragraph 3, which reads:
To automatically trim background music to fit the length of your movie: Select the “Trim background music” checkbox.

  • Can't create projects with loops longer than 1 second

This is weird - In garage band, if I try to drag and drop one of Apple's pre-made loops into a new project and that loop is any longer than one second I will get the following error message:
    Result Code = -5000
    File = GarageBand-Temp-21B25E84.tmp
(the temp file name, of course, changes each time)
I have used GarageBand for years with no problem. I have upgraded to Lion a couple months ago. However, I have also upgraded GarageBand. Currently running version 6.0.4 (427.84).
Very frustrating. Anybody have any ideas how to resolve?

Finally called Apple and got it figured out
    1. Went to a new user and tried creating a GarageBand song there. That worked so isolated that it was some kind of problem with the user account
    2. Went back to user library and looked at Preferences again. Threw out all of the following (which I had done previously)
    com.apple.garageband.cs
    com.apple.garageband.LSSharedFileList.plist
    com.apple.garageband.LSSharedFileList.plist.lockfile
    com.apple.garageband.plist
    com.apple.garageband.plist.lockfile
Also threw out (which I had not done previously)
    com.apple.iApps.plist
    com.apple.iApps.plist.lockfile
In the process found a bunch of other files that Apple thinks were created in error during upgrade. All started with com.apple.iApps.plist.xxxxxxx (X's represent random alpha numeric sequences). Threw those all out
    3. Also, in user library, went to Caches and threw away com.apple.garageband.
    4. Restarted computer
    Problem solved.

  • I need to create an animation sequence in photoshop cs6 longer than 5 seconds

I need to create an animation sequence in photoshop cs6 longer than 5 seconds. please help.

What problem are you having that should be easy just create the layer to make frames with. Create a frame animation in the timeline panel. Create the frames and set their display time. Save an animated gif for the web ie "Save For Web"
Prior to CS6 Photoshop only had a Animation Palette in CS Adobe replaced the palette with the Timeline Palette that can do Frame animations and Video. You can render a fame animation as a video but video does not support transparency like and animated Gif.

  • How can I make the lock screen stay active for longer than 5 seconds?

I'd like to have the lock screen stay active for longer than 5 seconds.  Too many times I've not seen a notification come through.  I'd like to have it stay on for at least 5 minutes for shutting down.  I'm suprised a "lock screen delay" option isn't a general setting available to unjailbreaked phones.

    Sorry, no.
Tell Apple you'd like a setting to alter this:

  • HT204389 Can I get Siri to let me dictate for longer than 40 seconds?

Can I get Siri to let me dictate for longer than 40 seconds?

Dragon dictation also only allows about 40 seconds of dictation before it automatically closes and writes your recording into text. Since registering this query I contacted Apple tech support and they informed me that 40 seconds is about all you can get. The technician however suggested that I contact the feedback section of Apple and make the suggestion for a longer dictation period be allowed. Many thanks for your help.

  • Can I make a photo clip longer than 4 seconds?

I want to leave more time to read the title I have going over a photo clip, so want to lengthen the clip more than 4 seconds. I tried copying and pasting the photo to make it 8 seconds long and the title dragging across the two, but 8 seconds is longer than I want. When I shorten the photo I copied to the entire clip is only 5 or 6 seconds that doesn't work. I'm able to shorten the title length so the text appears for less time, but it seems photos can only be 4 or 8 seconds, is that the case?
    Thanks so much!

  • Apps take longer than 15 seconds to get deleted

I got my iPhone 4s last September amd since then I've updated the firmware twice hoping that would solve the problem but it didn't so please tell me what else i can do:
When i hold an app to delete it, it does start to wriggle immediatly but when i press the delete button it takes more than 15 seconds for the are you sure message to pop up. I don't normally delete apps so i keep forgetting that that bug is there but when i do delete apps its when i urgently need space to take a video or something so its really frustrating when it takes me over ten minutes to just delete a couple of apps and yes it doesn't happen for just one delete it happens for each delete. Ever since i upgraded to 5.1.1 the freeze time decreased a bit to 15-30 seconds it used to be longer but i could really use a permenant fix for this. I searched around a bit and didn't see that anyone else had complained of this problem so i dont know what to try and i really need someone to tell me how to fix it. Thanks!

It is also possible the the disk space is low. How much space do you have left on your phone?

  • IMovie '09 will not let me manually fade out music

When working in iMovie '09. I want to be able to fade out my music at the end of my movie, but everytime I clip on Manual it automatically switches back to Automatic. It was doing this to my 2nd to last audio clip, until I added another clip. But now I am to the end of my movie and I will not be adding any more audio. Can anyone help?

I figured it out... for me anyway.
It all actually started when I added a "picture in picture" video clip. I also had an iTunes track which was broken or missing.
    1. Audio Ducking suddenly reversed itself for any audio in the project inserted after the PIP clip. Instead of ducking the background sounds, the audio ducked itself and left all background audio at full volume.
    2. All fade in/out stopped working but again only for any audio in the project inserted after the PIP clip.
I removed the PIP clip and re-inserted the bad iTunes track. Almost all the audio fixed itself. Whichever clips were still not fading or ducking, I deleting and re-inserted. It worked.

  • Fade out music

How can I fade out a song in imovie

If there was a way to split the audio clip, then you could fade each more gradually.
Anyone know know to split an audio clip?

  • Playing Music (Able to play longer than 28 second files somehow?)

I am working on a game. Don't let that throw you, though, my question is pretty well contained within the bounds of this board.
    Background:
In one of my previous projects, a turn-based strategy game, I had created a SoundPlayer class, which could load from files and produced Clip (I think) objects that could be played by my program. The problem was, it used up huge amounts of memory and I could only play at most one copy of each sound at a time (that is, I couldn't have, for example, two explosion sound effects going off and have them overlap) because of the way I had arranged things to keep them from loading too many times. The largest sound it could load was a 28 second wav file, and that didn't even work on all computers. Even on my computer, which had the overall best performance for running this program, sounds would sometimes not play, or rarely play over and over until they were told to play a second time. Most of this is probably my implementation, but it still wasn't working.
    Questions:
How can I load large sounds, like music, either midi or mp3, or possibly some well compressed (small file-size) format that can contain the same type of data as a wav? How can I minimize memory use AND the amount of space used by the loaded-from files? How can I make it play more than one instance of the same sound at a time? How can I keep it so that things play the right number of times, not more, not less?
    Additional Requirements:
I need to be able to stop the sounds, so I will probably need some sort of a handle to the object associated with it, and I may need to adjust its volume. Also, I may need to know when a sound finishes, either with a boolean or an event (or something like it) fired at the completion of the sound. It would help to know how far into a sound it has played, and in some cases it might be useful to be able to loop some number (or indefinitely) either over the whole sound or a part of it.
I know this is a lot, but sound is pretty necessary to make a good game.
    Thanks in advance.
