Fade out to white

how do we fade out to white

Open the Generators in the Viewer and select Matte>Color.
Change it to white and drag it next to the clip you want to fade out.
Insert a cross-dissolve and stretch it to about 2 seconds ........ or whatever suits you.

  • Fade Out to White in Final Cut Pro (FCP)

    Could someone please show me how to do add a fade-to-white transition in Final Cut Pro (FCP)? (Instead of black, which is default.) I want to be able to do both: 1) fade to white; 2) and white to the picture. An example clip:
    http://www.allfilters.com/campingfilters/gravityfed/platypus-gravityworks-filter
    *Click on the "Videos" tab.
    This clip ends with "fade to white." I want to apply the same effect in the beginning (white to movie).
    Thank you in advance.

    Effects > Video Transitions > Dissolve> Dip to Color Dissolve ... add it at the start and end
    Double click the transition at the start (the Fade In) to open it in the Viewer and change the Color property to White. For extra credit you can change the Start value to 50%. Then double click the transition at the end (the Fade Out) to open it in the Viewer and again change the Color property to White. For extra credit change the End value to 50%.
    Or another way would be to use Effects > Video Generators > Matte > Color Solid to create a "White" clip and then use that to dissolve into and out of your edit using a regular Cross Dissolve transition or by placing the Color Solid on another layer and the keyframing the opacity.
    Hope it helps

  • How make cookie cutter with fade-out to white surround - a vignette?

    I have been given a wedding picture and my client wants a soft white vignette,  the picture fading to white all round. I have the Cookie Cutter but can see no way of changing the hard edge to a vignette.

    Okay lets start over:
    1. Drag the locked background layer (drag the layer in the layers panel)
        down to the new layer icon at the bottom of the layers panel.
        This duplicates the background layer.
    2. Make the background layer active (click on the bottom layer in the layers panel).
    3. Go to the bottom of the layers panel, click on the new fill or adjustment layer icon
        and select Solid Color from the drop down menu. When color picker appears, select
        white as the color and click ok.
        (you can change the color later by double clicking on the fill layer icon in the layers
         and choosing a new color)
    4. Make the top layer in the layers panel active by clicking on the top layer in the layers panel.
    5. Select the cookie cutter tool, choose the shape, set the feather, uncheck the crop box and
       draw out the shape on the image.
    The amount of feather depends on how large your image is, so you might have to try a few different settings.

  • Fade out effect in applet

    How would i go about making a fade out to white effect in an applet on like an image or something of the such?

    This may work:
    After you draw your image, fill a rectangle overtop of you image with the alpha component of the color increasing.
    class SomeThread {
    int alpha = 0;
    public void run() {
         while (true) {
         if (alpha > 255) break;
         yourPanel.setAlpha(alpha);
         yourPanel.repaint();
         alpha = alpha + 5;
         try {
            Thead.sleep(200); // 255 / 5 = 51 * 200 ms is about 10 seconds
         } catch (InterruptedException ex) {}
    class YourPanel extends JPanel {
    public void paint(Graphics g) {
          super.paint(g);
          g.drawImage(...);
          g.setColor(new Color(255, 255, 255, alpha));
          g.fillRect(...);
    }

    You can condense multiple clips that are stacked above each other into a nest. The nest appears as a single clip in the Timeline. If you need to modify the individual clips inside after you have created the nest, it can be expanded again by double clicking it.

  • Fade out-Fade in BUT to White

    Is there an effect that will fade between cuts, but go first to a white then to the other cut. Just the opposite from the to black fade out-fade effect already in FCE? Kinda like a white slowish flash. Thanks.

    Dip-to-Color. Change the color to white.

  • Unattractive white outline on fade out after 24 fps convert via Nattress

    Hi all,
    I converted a DV SD to 24 fps but via Nattress film effects and on certain fade outs there is an unattractive white outline around all the current whites on the frame. I tried 30 fps and got the same results. These fade outs are running at 70% speed. Is that a factor?
    Thanks in advance,
    Pete K

    Pete. Could you send me a small clip of footage in a timeline, with the 70% slowdown and fade so that I can see exactly how you're creating the edit, and then I'll figure out a solution for you.

  • I designed a logo that has a gold rule that feathers at both ends. When I save this as an EPS and try to use it on a dark background, the entire logo looks fine, except the rule...where it feathers it turns white when it should fade out.

    @

    As doug says EPS doesn't support any transparency. The fade out you are using is a transparency effect. Use PDF 1.4 or above to display the transparency properly.

  • How do I make a clip fade in from white, without affecting / overlapping the previous clip?

    Hi,
    The simple scenario is, I have two clips in my timeline. I have the the first clip that ends on a white flash frame. I want the second clip to fade in from white, so that there is visual continuity between the two clips. I don't want to change the duration of the two clips and add any additional frames.
    Whenever I use the Fade To Colour dissolve, and simply switch out the black colour to white, which does exactly what I want, the dissolve always affects / overlaps the first clip when you subsequently put them together. How can I have only the second clip fade in from white and be affected by the Fade To Colour?
    I've also tried using the compositing opacity handles in the show video animation dialogue but this only lets you fade the clip in from a black background. If I could change the colour of that compositing opacity background to white, so that it fades in from white instead of black, then that would be perfect but I can't see how you can do it? Can that be done?
    I'd like the simplest and quickest possible solution, ideally changing the colour of the compositing opacity background would be best but how else can I have a clip fade in from white?
    Thanks,
    Clown Guy

    I also have this question. Avid lets you change the frame up/down -  to/from a dissolve point. In other words, I could have a dissolve go "up" at, for example, 5 frames, and then "down" at, say, 15 frames. As it stands now, FCPX only allows you the same amount of frames on either side of the cross-dissolve. (A 30-frame dissolve is split 15 frames on either side of the transition.)
    Other NLE's give you the option for a dissolve to occur at the BEGINNING, in the MIDDLE (STANDARD CROSS-DISSOLVE) or at the END of a transition. (Depending, of course, on if you have the "handles" to execute the transition,)
    Can we achieve this in FCPX? Is this where we launch the "precision editor?"

    I have adobe Premiere Elements 13. It will not let me delete audio or have it fade in or out. I can move the yellow line all the way down till the volume reads -0.0, but the sound is still there on playback. I can click on fade in and fade out and the yellow line that graphs volume takes a sharp raise or dip at the beginning or end of the clip, but there is no change in volume when I play back. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks for the reply. Great news about the volume adjusts.
    Now about those fades for the volume. How are you doing that?
    1. Right click the Timeline video audio and select Fade and then
    see the Fade options (I had a video with audio file, so I saw the choices as shown in the screenshot)
    2. You can also create two volume keyframes at each end of the Timeline audio clip rubberband (orange line that goes horizontally across the middle of the audio clip). At the position of the Timeline Indicator, click the Add/Remove Keyframe icon, and then with the mouse cursor position the white dots (volume keyframes) to achieve the Fade In and Fade Out audio. In the screenshot below I have moved the Timeline Indicator so that you could better see the white dots (volume keyframes).
    Please let us know if any of the above works for you with regard to the audio fades.
    Thank you.

  • Brand new Nano: screen fade out?

    Brand new Nano...the screen will fade to mostly white, however you can still faintly see the icons and it will operate but the whole screen is covered with the fade out effect that normally is confined to the right edge of artist/album/song names that are too long to fit on screen.
    It seems to have happened mainly when it was plugged into the MBP USB slot to charge/sync.
    Has anyone seen this? Is this a malfunction that warrants return? Is this normal?

    yeah, definitely not normal. I find folks describing white screen with the logo and black screens but no one with this "faded" screen. I can faintly see the controls and they will move, but you can hardly use the thing.
    it's going back to BestBuy before the return policy expires. This is the first Apple product I've purchased that has failed to live up to it's expected operation. In that it has failed miserably. So, it will be ditched.

  • Fade Out Text Help Needed

    First flash project. All looks great in preview. I've created
    a text fade out by converting the white text to a movie clip
    symbol. In one keyframe the text is alpha 100%. Several frames
    later I've created another keyframe with alpha set to 0%. I've
    added a motion tween between the 2 keyframes.
    The SWF looks good when I pan it on the timeline, however,
    when I test it or publish it. The text just stays alpha 100%.
    Your assistance is appreciated.

    First let me just point out that if text is not Alpha at all,
    you don't need to set
    it to 100%, you just set the side where the 0% is, or
    whatever number lower than 100%.
    100% means no alpha so it's not required to specify that at
    all.
    Secondly, my guess is that you set the text to DYNAMIC not
    STATIC. Dynamic text can
    fade in authoring but will fail upon export. In fact try to
    Export Preview movie all
    the time, this is the only reliable method to find out
    whether it's all functioning
    properly. Preview while authoring it's never reliable.

  • Fade out for a while

    I have Elements 12 and Windows 8.1 64.
    I like to fade out the sound in the middle of a clip for just a short time. After that I will go back to the normal level. How can I do such things?

    Koolmees37
    I am going to detour in methodology to see if keyframing at the audio clip's rubberband will be easier. If not, we will go back to my first choice the Audio Mixer for the task.
    In this demo, I have my audio on Audio Track 1 and selected/highlighted.
    1. Place the Timeline Indicator at the spot on the Timeline about 20 seconds before where you want the Fade Out to start. Click on the diamond shape under Audio 1 (track name). That will place a white dot on the orange line that is running horizontally across the clip. That orange band is called rubberband. You have just placed a Volume keyframe. The Volume level at that spot will be 0 dB (normal Volume of the clip).
    2. Move the Timeline Indicator 20 seconds later on the Timeline. Click on the diamond shape under Audio 1 (track name). That will place a white dot on the orange line (rubberband). With your mouse cursor, click and drag that second white dot down at that time spot to the bottom. You have just placed a Volume keyframe and set it a no sound (-infniity). The slope between the first and second keyframes placement will give you that Fade Out effect. You can fine tune the Fade Out by moving the white dots around with your mouse cursor.
    3. Then move the Timeline Indicator to the right where you want the Volume to Fade In. Click on the diamond shape under Audio 1 (track name). This will place a white dot on the orange line (rubberband). Anothe Volume keyframe (that third white dote that you see in the screenshot). Since we are not moving this one up, the Volume there is -infinity (no sound). Now move the Timeline Indicator 20 seconds forward from that spot. Click on the diamond shape under Audio 1 (track name). This will place another white dot on the orange line (rubberband). For this white dot, with the mouse cursor click drag it upward at that time spot to the normal Volume level (try for 0 dB or very close to it).
    At the end, the keyframed audio clip and its Volume keyframes (white dots) will look like this
    Did that help and give good results or time to go back to the Audio Mixer whose description I gave in a prior post?
    Looking forward to your results.
    Thanks.

  • Upon updating 5.1 iphone 4 blacked out with white line through screen and nonstop vibrating

    i was updating lastest version my iphone 4 through icloud until screen blacked out with white line in middle of screen and started vibrating non stop.
    tried a hard and soft reboot NOTHING WORKED
    phone died
    put back on charger
    same problem screen would brown out and fade to black.
    now it won't turn on.
    fed up #FIX

    phone lost full charge upon charging again now i have colored lines running horizontal through screen then vertical.
    hard restart does nothing again.
    but its no longer vibrating.
    seems like serious software issue.

  • IPhone dropouts and fade outs

    iPhone 3GS with 4 update software now has frequent dropouts and fade-outs in previously full signal areas. It need not be in my hand.
    It also MAY suck up the battery faster since I now keep 3GS service etc on almost all the time.
    Suggestions?

    I'm confused.
    How is it that this new version of iMovie lacks the most basic ability to adjust text sizes or remove text effects? I'm talking about the ability to just put unmoving, unfading, unflaring, plain-old, simple text of different sizes on the screen. This new version makes it basically impossible to do simple tasks like make subtitles.
    For all of its bells and whistles it would be impossible to make a simple, silent black and white film like those people were making over 100 years ago—because the "new" iMovie lacks the ability to do simple intertitles!
    I'm talking about white text centered on a black background. In 2014, I can't type white text on a black background and format it. On an Apple product. I can do that on TextEdit, why can't I do that on iMovie 13?
    Someone please tell me I'm missing something here.
