Fade to white screen

I have the curve 8520 and it keeps fading to a white screen while I'm doing pretty much anything on the phone. It has done it after I check voicemail, on BBM, fb, email...etc.etc. After it fades to white, it will freeze like that until i take the battery out or plug it in...sometimes it will just turn itself off and stay on black screen... do i need to get a new battery?

Repetitive White Screens

I have a problem with my Curve 8520.
At least 4 times a day the screen goes totally white, no clock or error message, and I have to make two battery pulls before it restarts, and most of the times the battery runs totally out in the process, so there are times when I need to plug my device in to get it restarted.
Is there any solution for this?
Is this a battery problem or a device issue?

Same issue on Curve 8530, most current OS. Could you list the apps you had installed prior to resolving your issue with white screen. I have the same problem...what I refer to as random white screen, however, I don't believe it is a battery issue with mine. Just out of the blue...my screen will start to fade until it becomes completely white and resolves with a battery pull or soft reset. During this time, the phone still has some function...like during one of these episodes...I received a phone call and heard it ringing but could not answer it and pushing on any key on the keyboard gets no response except to perform the soft reset. I don't have the battery issue like your phone did and mine will restart with no problem. I have had my phone for less than a month and it started doing this shortly after I had it up and running but I don't recall if it did it after I installed apps or prior to. One other interesting point to make is that prior to my current phone..I had my first one and it would fade to white screen as well and I took that one back and exchanged it for my current phone because I assumed that it must be a hardware issue. Again, on that phone as well, I don't recall if I had already installed apps on it or not and it was also same phone, same OS. I have begun to test the various apps I have and believe it may be the toast feature on bebuzz. I checked the event log and it shows in there, for bebuzz, a line containing "Warning! Deprecated API access logged." I don't know for sure what that means but I thought that it may be this because I have actually caught the toast feature come up and the fade to white screen occur a few times but not every time. But, the problem with this theory is that I have this app also installed on my son's phone (same phone, same OS) and it has never happened. I have since turned all the toasts off in bebuzz and am going on the second day with no fade to white screen. And that really doesn't mean anything because my white screen problem does not happen every day. The bebuzz app is the paid version. I've read about this type of problem in numerous posts...each seems a little different like some involve the battery...some can't get it to boot back up...some posts point to a hardware issue...etc...but I have never yet seen an absolute resolve. If you wouldn't mind listing the apps you had installed prior to your resolving your issue or list the app you believe to have been the cause...that would be appreciated. Thank you.

It is a newer MacBook, just over 1 year. It is well cared for, hasn't been dropped, etc. I don't want to pay for expensive repairs for such a new computer, and I certainly can't afford a new one!
I've tried updating my system like the Support page suggested, but no improvement. The problem started just the other day, and is progressively getting worse.
.... as I typed this, it did it again. Only, this time it did not flicker and shake, but got 'pixelated' (pixels came up checkered-like darkened and lightened). It did this for about 2 minutes and then stopped after I did not touch the computer.... Now it is flickering... HELP!

Macbook screen pixelates and fades to white and freezes

Over the past week I have had a problem while watching movies online or playing games... The screen starts to pixelate then fades to white and freezes. At this point I can still hear whats going on but the screen is almost all white and frozen... Is anyone else having this problem or do you know what to do?

Checked to see how much free space there is on the startup disk lately?

MacBook running OS X 10.6.8 and the video screen fades to white

I have a MacBook 6,1 with a 2.26 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo running OS X 10.6.8 and from time to time the video just fades to a white screen. If I unplug the power supply or change the angle of the screen the video returns to normal. Can anyone tell me what is going on here? Thank you very much in advance.

Satellite Screen Fades to White

I currently own a Toshiba Satellite E55-A5114. Part number PSKPJU-01K023. I purchased it in February of 2014, making it close to 1.5 years old. I have never had any problems with it until early last week. While I use the computer, the screen slowly starts to fade to white. It appears like the computer freezes, but I am pretty sure it just freezes the display as it fades to white. I have noticed that I can still move the mouse (although I can't see it) and click things, I just don't know what I'm clicking until the screen returns. A simple knock/tap near the trackpad or near the power button usually brings back the screen. However, lately the problem has persisted and occured much more frequently. I generally see the problem occur in short bursts (it will want to fade to white if I am touching the laptop for a few minutes without me being able to use it). I initially thought the problem was when I applied pressure to the laptop in the form of using the trackpad, or resting my wrists on the laptop as I typed. But, I am not so sure that has anything to do with the problem. In a nutshell, my screen fades to white occasionally and makes the laptop unusable. All of my drivers/software/etc. are up to date. I have been unable to locate a solution anywhere else online. This is my first time using the forum to discuss my laptop, so please let me know if I can provide any extra information to help fix this problem. Thanks in advance!

IMac screen fades to white

Just bought a Core 2 Duo iMac with a 17" display. Plugged it in and started working through the "welcome" process... and then the screen flickered a bit and suddenly turned white. I restarted, got to the desktop screen, and then it gradually -- but quickly -- lost color until it became white again. Restarted once more but the screen continued to fade to white while I was calibrating the display...
Any ideas? My response is to take it back to the store tomorrow.

Thanks. A few years ago, I would have spent half a Sunday downloading firmware, reinstalling system software, and trying to resurrect this computer. Today, I'm a true iMac user: I expect to plug it in and go. And go I will -- back to the store for a replacement.

Screen freeze and fades to white

Hello,
I have an iPhone 4S. Recently it's been kind of warm and muggy in my area so I attributed my phone acting weird to getting a little warm.
The issue I'm having is that for the last couple days my phone would randomly restart itself. That in itself was weird, but it worked fine after the restart, and it felt warm so I figured it was a little hot. I'd stop using it and let it cool down before using it again.
This morning when I woke up, my phone was on. I was using it to check tweets, etc, and it restarted again. It felt warm, so after it reset itself, I went into the brightness controls and went to turn them way down and the control slider had ZERO effect on the brightness of the display. This worried me so I performed a hard reset (holding the home and power buttons) thinking it was just a glitch.
After that hard reset, the apple logo appeared, and then a horizontal line appeared (which was not the standard Apple Loading Bar that appears when you're installing an update or something) then white noise dots showed up, then the screen faded from black, to green, to white, all while keeping the apple logo visibile in varying degrees until everythingn is totally white.
The display itself flickers rapidly, not on and off, but between extremes of dimness. Only noticeable around the edges of the sceen though.
The phone never vibrates, or makes any noises during this process, although it IS able to be hard reset again from that All White Screen.
On one occasion the phone made it past the All White Screen and I decided to perform a restore on it, however restore didnt even proceed 10% before iTunes had an error saying that my iphone could not be restored (an unknown error occurred). Now the phone seems to be stuck in recovery mode. This makes me very sad, and any advice offered would be greatly appreciated.

I would take it into an Apple Retail store and have them look at it. Also, they would be able to tell you if you are within 1st year of harware warranty too.

White Screen during Startup

Everything was working fine on the Mac until about an hour ago when I tried to install software updates and then the screen fades and a message pops up saying the computer needs to be restarted by holding down the power button.
After doing that, the computer is now stuck on a blank white screen every time it is restarted. FYI, there is no external hard drive connected to the computer. Here's what I have tried thus far to troubleshoot:
Completely disconnect from the electrical outlet and restart.
Restart with the OSX Install disc in (also tried this holding down "c", both times just goes straight to white screen and won't do anything else)
Tried resetting PRAM (it made the second chime but still wont go past the white screen)
Restart in single-user mode and safe mode (still just stuck on the white screen)
Tried restarting with any USB cables disconnected
Tried restarting with the Ethernet cord disconnected while holding down the D key per the instructions in the "Everything Mac" book (only thing connected was the keyboard + mouse)
NONE of this has worked or caused any different result, it's still just showing a blank white screen.
Can anyone suggest another possible solution or cause for this problem?

My iMac is brand new, barely 2 months old. I've been getting the white screen quite often at startup. The only way I can get past it is to hold down power and reboot. One thing I've noticed... I'm pretty sure it only happens when I have external drives connected. If I shut down with my hard drives mounted and restart, I tend to get a white screen. If I disconnect them, startup is perfectly fine. I'd hate to have to disconnect Time Machine every time I power down, though. What a pain. Just installed Snow Leopard; perhaps it will fix this (though it did not, sadly, fix the missing "new mail" sound, so who knows)?

Menu will not loop and reverts to a white screen after 30 secs

I'm using Encore CS4 to create a picture DVD (a la Ken Burns!). I used the generic Beach background under the travel tab for the menus because I thought it was fitting. Anyway the duration of the menu is 30 secs. I can not for the life of me figure out how to change the duration. The "loop forever" button is disabled when I click on the menu background. Even if I change the duration time it will always go to a white screen after 30 secs (the audio will continue to play however and the pictures I used for buttons are visible)
Any suggestion or ideas on why this is happening? I checked and as far as I can see there are no overrides anywhere in my project. Everything I've found online stated to click the loop forever button...but that isn't an option.

One thing to think about, with regards to your Audio. You might want to make sure that you being with a fade-up and end with a fade-down. That way, should it loop, you do not get a noticeable cut in the Audio. Now, your user will probably have chosen a Button and activated it before, but should they have not, the music "appears" to flow. I normally use the same music for all Menus, and these little pieces contain a lot of repetition in them. That helps to create the appearance that its the same piece that plays THROUGH all Menus, when it's really just one separate piece for each. The pieces are such that you can jump into, or out of, each and one has to listen carefully to tell that it's not continuous. I keep dozens of these little pieces handy, or create new ones with the same characteristics, in SmartSound. You just have to choose the right compositions.

CS5.5 Mobile White Screen of Death

I am a N00B to CS5.5 and I am testing it out with a trial version. I developed an app in Dreamweaver CS5.5 with phonegap. I launched the app in CS5.5's Build and Emulate. After my splash screen I get a white screen that never goes away. I can't figure out what it is...
I looked at the debug notes and found this:

I have somewhat the same problem. I was jogging (perspiring) with the equipment and suddenly the menu selections began to fade to a white-light gray--it stopped playing. I tried discharging-charging the battery, to no avail. When I tried to recharge I get 2 beeps every 10-15 minutes.

White Screen at Startup?

I've been noticing as of late, that whenever I boot up my iMac, it seems stall and I get a persistent white screen. After a minute or two, the wallpaper comes up along with the icon and the dock. It seems as if the Finder is having some issues loading. I didn't have these issues after my initial installation when everything seemes to run beautifully. Anyone else having this issue and possibly know what may be causing it?

I've seen this when I have another monitor plugged in, it needs to load it too. Without the second monitor plugged in, the apple logo beecomes a darker grey then slides up and fades out over the apple logo on the login screen and lets you log in.
So do you have a second display plugged in?
