Faded colours on export to Photoshop

Sorry if this has been covered before.....
When I export to Photoshop (Cmd-Shft-O) Aperture correctly creates the TIFF and opens it in Photoshop. However the Photoshop version has very much less colour saturation or something, the colour just look all washed out.
I'm sure this is something to do with Colorsync/colour workflow settings, but I'm not expert enough to know what the problem is. Can anyone help?

+Menu > File > Print > PDF > Save to folder as TIFF or jpeg+
As to printing problems: check the default printer; or what printer you have selected to print to in the Pages' Printer Setup; networking; plugs are in; power is on.

  • Faded colours when exporting to PDF

Hello, sorry if this has been asked before.
When I place a logo that was designed in Illustrator into InDesign, the colour looks fine in InDesign, but looks faded when I export to a PDF. When I try to make a solid using the logo's colour (Pantone 655 U), the solid looks faded in both InDesign and the PDF. Here is a picture (left is InDesign, right is Acrobat):
This document is meant to be viewed on screen, so I would ideally like to have it display properly. After some searching I am guessing it has something to do with the colour space, although I don't really understand how all that works fully. If someone could help me get this to display proprly it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

What CS version are you using?
Make sure you've checked Use Standard Lab Colors in Ink Manager under the Swatches panel in ID. If the document is going to be strictly for screen viewing there's no need to use spot colors so it might help to convert them to process RGB. If you want to stay with spot colors then export PDF/X-4 and the colors will display correctly in both Preview and Acrobat

  • Lightroom JPEG export VS Photoshop Image Processor

    Hey guys:
Long time photoshop and lightroom user (long time user of all things Adobe). First post here in the forums. I did a search for my question but I think it was too specific, so it returned zero results.
My question is about Lightroom's JPEG export vs Photoshops Image Processor. When I export a RAW file to JPEG from Lightroom, the file size is freaking huge. The JPEG is as big as my original RAW file (~25mb). Settings are set to default - 100 quality. Everything else remains untouched.
However, when I use Photoshop's image processor (I launch it through Bridge, easier that way for me) and process the RAW images that way, my JPEGs are roughly 5-10mb in size. Settings in Image Processor are quality 10 and thats it. No actions being run or anything.
Can anyone shed some light as to why Lightroom exports JPEGs that are roughly 2-4 times the size of Photoshop's JPEGs? My initial thoughts are that the 100 quality setting in Lightroom is more like Photoshop's quality 12 (that always makes me think of Spinal Tap - "Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?" "These go to eleven.") Ideally, exporting out of Lightroom would be much easier for my workflow.
    Thanks in advance.

You are correct: LR Quality 100 = PS Quality 12
Despite LR having 101 Quality settings (0 to 100) it actually only has 12 Quality settings the same as PS 'Baseline Standard':

I keep a small copy of the above table taped to my monitor. I chose the numbers under the 'LR' column for the 12 steps (not AA's) to make it easier to remember. In actuality ANY number in the LR Range column will produce the same results for each step.
Under the 'Typical Reduction' column notice the small amount of reduction for PS 6 (LR 47-53%) Quality setting. If interested why AND why you probably shouldn't use PS 7 (LR 54-61%) Quality setting see this post:

    Hi Ashley Clavette,
The Initial view setting works perfectly when the file is opened in Acrobat after setting the desired Initial View.
When you upload the file onto Wordpress, and view it on that website in the browser...it might be using a different pdf handler program which might be causing this issue ( it would be helpful, if you could provide the screenshot) , however when you download the pdf again from wordpress server...and open in Acrobat/Reader...then what  exactly happens ?  Does the pdf opens in the desired Initial View setting?

  • LR 3.6 Export to Photoshop CS5 - Images have massive problems.

    Windows 7 x64
    Lightroom 3.6
    Photoshop CS5
When I use the Export to Photoshop feature (or if I export to PSD or export to TIFF and then open in Photoshop), the images look like this:
When the original in Lighroom looks like this:
If I zoom in to 100% the weird artifacting/tearing goes away, but if I zoom out any more than 66%, it gets these weird malformations on the image. I cannot figure out why. It's not the image size since I've worked with 100+ meg PSD files in Photoshop before without this issue. If I export to JPG from LR and then open in Photoshop, it's fine. It just happens with TIFF or PSD. Driving me nuts.
    Anybody have any idea why?
    Thank you all so much.

That's a typical video card driver problem affecting Photoshop. Update the driver from the manufacturer's site (NVidia or ATI).

  • QuickTime Export in Photoshop CC

I haven't been able to export (render) a small animation to Quicktime in Photoshop CC. I still have Photoshop CS5 installed and it is not a problem there. The only option I have in CC is to export to "Photoshop Image Sequence". Adobe Media Encoder is grayed out.
If it means anything, I'm using Windows 7 in a 32 bit enviorement, not 64.
    Any help, greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

We are talking about Photoshop CC.  The video file created can only be exported to JPEG, TIF, GIF etc.  TheAdobe Media Encoder (see image) is not available.  The only option is the Photoshop Image Sequence.  This is very frustrating as the movie export to H.264 format in CS6 is awesome.
So the question is:  Adobe Creators do you plan to continue the video export in CC or not?
If not, will CS6 via Creative Cloud be available anymore or dicontinued?  And if not, why does your product evangelist video state the CC has all the functionality of CS6 Extended?
Discontinuing video export support or availability of CS6 via Creative Cloud will, no doubt, make many end users, like myself, upset!  Is our only alternative then to create animated GIF files?
Please have someone from Adobe R&D respond.

  • How to see original photo after exporting to photoshop

    Hello,
When making adjustments to the RAW file in Lightroom I know you can use the "\" key to see the before image. However, when I export to photoshop it saves a second image back into Lightroom.
When looking at this new image is there a way to flip back and forth with the original RAW??
    Thanks
    Scott

No, that isn't possible because the new image is a completely separate file. But there's nothing preventing you from using the arrow keys in Lightroom to move back and forth between the two images. Or, you can highlight the two images and press the letter C to compare the two images side-by-side.

  • Why aren't all of my layers exporting into Photoshop?

I have a layered .ai document that I need to export into Photoshop. Photoshop is taking about 6 of the layers and putting them on one layer. All of the other items remain on their separate layers. Any ideas? I'm in a time crunch and need to get these files to our programmer.
    thanks!

As Larry said - lose the transparency and blending modes. This also extends to clipping masks and other "render for output" centric features that affect the visual appearance, while themselve just being empty paths...

  • Hi, How to export my Photoshop Elements 8 and Premiere 8 Elements from my old PC to my new PC

Hi, How to export my Photoshop Elements 8 and Premiere 8 Elements from my old PC to my new one - both are Windows 7???

    Hi Jeff,
    Thanks for reply.
I want to transfer/export/bring over images and videos to my new PC.
I have one licence (and disc) in my old PC for Photoshop Elements 8 and Premiere Elements 8.
Separately I have one unused licence (disk) for  Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10.
I also then need to understand the smartest and easiest approach to:
Either I export software 8.0 and images and videos from old to  new PC
    - Or
I install version 10 on the new PC and then  transfer/export/bring over images and videos to my new PC.
Great if you are able to guide me in this.
    Regards,
    Per S

  • LR 4b exposure adjustments not exporting to Photoshop

I really like the new basic controls in LR4b Develop module, but I cannot get the exposure adjustments to export to Photoshop CS5.  Either using the Command-E or Export to Photoshop CS5 command gets the straight out of camera rendition in terms of exposure.  Saturation, Contrast, Clarity etc. adjustments from LR export fine but the basic exposure adjustments do not.
Anyone else out there having this issue?  Any suggested fix?

(Mac Pro 1,1 3.0 GHz Octocore, 24 GB RAM, SSD, OSX 10.6.6)

Thank you all for these helpful answers.
It sounds like this is not a bug but a built-in limitation.  Until some sort of Camera Raw update is released, I guess I willl go back to LR 3.6 as my primary working tool.  I will miss those lovely renderings though and although I could do the 'convert to PSD first'  method for the odd image, that is a major work flow issue for me.

  • Aperture export to Photoshop error

    Hi all,
This is a bit of a very specialised issue that I noticed - so only an issue for the very high end user. But big enough of a problem that I have to change to Lightroom until this issue is fixed...
Following Problem statement. I get an error in calcutions in advanced Alpha Channel Masking... see attached images to understand the problem
Here is what I do to get the Alpha Mask:
    1) From Aperture export Image to Photoshop
    2) You want to calculate a certain coloured area to do some very subtle editing - say a skin rash
    3) You select Green Channel for highest contrast between rash and skin
    4) You go in Calculations and on merged layers in inverted mode you do a multiply calculation into a new selection
    5) You get a selection. You want to refine it
    6) You do calculations again and this time on the selection layers (not inverted) you do an overlay calculations into a new channel
You see that the Mask has square patches - misaligned information ...
I don't understand what they are because when you look in RGB there is no error.
Also note that this must be related to Aperture - because when I import the .NEF file directly from the camera into Photoshop or via Lightroom I don't get this issue.
    (I am using a NIKON D700)
Second more minor but annoying issue - skin colours are way more yellowish than in Lightroom ...
Can anyone fix this or point to how it can be fixed? Should Apple be notified?

I also wanted to add an image of how the masks looks like - i.e. without issues - when you import into Photoshop via Lightroom
