Installing Shockwave player on Windows x64 for IE9 x64
My computer is running Windows 7 Home Premium x64.
I have upgraded my (32-bit) Shockwave player to version 12.1.3r153, and it appears to be working for IE9 32-bit, and Firefox 28 (32-bit).
I was fairly certain that in the past, I had downloaded and installed a 64-bit Shockwave player for a previous version of Shockwave, but I can't be 100% sure of that.
I'm trying to upgrade/install Shockwave player 12 (64-bit) on this computer for use with IE9 64-bit, but I cannot find the Shockwave 12 64-bit install package download. It appears that there is not a 64-bit version of Shockwave player 12 available.
Where can I download a 64-bit version of Shockwave 12 for Windows 7 x64?
If this is not available, have they abandoned 64-bit for Shockwave?
Is there an older (but fairly recent) version of Shockwave available in a 64-bit version? There has never been a 64 bit version of Shockwave. You are perhaps confusing it with the Flash Player which does have a 64 bit version

Can't Re-Install Flash Player at all and now Can't Re-install Shockwave Player
I am helping a user who states his Flash Player vanished, when trying to download the latest version we are getting:
error message: "Installation failed. www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166"
The system is running Windows XP Pro and Internet Explorer 6. I have tried all of the troubleshooting and tips/tricks found here and via searching with Blackle. This user has to use all sorts of types of flash players to do his job and needs to get Adobe's running again. I have tried everything and he is NOT willing to reimage the pc yet. Can anyone help???Try uninstalling Flash Player first, then do a clean install
download the FP uninstaller from http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157 (save to disk);
download the offline ActiveX installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe (save to disk);
close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller, followed by the installer.
The offline installer for Shockwave Player is here http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/default/english/win95nt/latest/Shockwave_In staller_Slim.exe -
Failed to install Flash Player 9 (tn_19167)
Suddenly I had a problem with FlashPlayer9 in IE7. In Firefox
all still worked fine.
Although I tried several things like: regular way of removing
flash player within Windows, the Adobe Flash uninstall-tool, 3rd
party software-cleaners (CCleaner, ATF-cleaner), un-/re-installing
IE7. I keep on getting the "Go to www.adobe.com/go/tn_19167"
message. But it all doesn't solve out my problems. I have no idea
what this could be at this moment. I don't have strange tools
running my system; I use F-Secure AV (for some weeks already, no
problems before).Hi Ruth,
The number one reason that the ActiveX installer fails to
install on IE are due to incorrect permissions in the system
registry. We have solved hundreds of these Windows system
permissions with Microsoft’s SubInACL tool.
Note: This is strictly for Windows IE, these issues do not
occur on other browsers such as Firefox.
www.firefox.com
To fix these Windows system registry permission conflicts you
can use Microsoft’s SubInACL tool.
Warning: The following solution involves the Windows System
Registry. Editing or manipulating the registry incorrectly can
result in serious system damage which may require re-installation
of the operating system. If you are not comfortable editing the
registry, then take your system to a professional. If you choose to
proceed, then it is essential that you create a complete system
backup and a Windows System Restore Point before proceeding.
Please download Microsoft’s tool to your desktop.
http://www.supportflash.com/reset_min.zip
1. Login as the User that has the incorrect permissions in
the system registy
2. unzip the “reset_minimal.cmd” and the
“subinacl.exe” to the desktop
*** Make sure both files are on the desktop
3. Close out all applications
4. Run the “reset.cmd” file
5. It will open a DOS like terminal and start running through
registry keys
6. When it is finished it will say “press any key to
continue”
7. At this point you can download the latest Flash Player

Failed to install Flash Player
I have tried several times to download the most recent adobe flash player onto my computer. However, when I click 'run' and get to the installation process at 50% installed it tells me I must close Internet Explorer to continue. Even though I do this the same message still comes up. I have windows vista home premium and IE7.
If you have a MacBook, You most certainly do not have iOS. iOS is for iPads, iPhones and the iPod Touch ONLY. iOS is incompatible with Flash Player and always has been.
Once you've downloaded the installer: Flash Player (Mac OS X), the only password required is your OS X password. Unfortunately, no one here can help with remembering or resetting that. -

Unable to Install Macromedia Shockwaver Player
I have installed Macromedia Shockwaver Player before without
any problems. However, when I tried to install it on my laptop
computer with Windows 2000 Professional, it got an error while it
was installing. The error states "Could not load the DLL library
C:\WINNT\system32\Kernel32.dll (GetSystemWow64DirectoryA). The
specified procedure could not be found." Now, I have just installed
Shockwave the day before on this very same computer with everything
the same on it. I had to reformat my hardrive and reinstall
Windows, but again, I did the reformat and reinstall couple times
before and installed Shockwave Player without having run into this
problem. I'd like anyone to suggest what the problem might be and
help me resolve it.Well, Adobe obviously has done all their versions of
Shockwave Player to not support Win2k any more, because it was just
last week I was able to visit sites that requires Shockwave Player
without getting the DDL error. Now, I'm not able to either install
or visit sites that requires Shockwave. The following is what I
requested of Adobe and got from them and then requested again:

Notes from Customer
Monday, January 14, 2008 3:02:28 PM PST
I find the response from Samuel really useless. To start
with, I am pretty sure that this problem is due to Adobe's fault,
for I hav
e successfully able to install and use Adobe Shockwave just a
week ago. Now this new problem started occuring late last week, and
I
have posted my problem on Adobe's Shockwave forum. One can
visit it at
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?
forumid=44&catid=185&threadid=1328948&enterthread=y
. As someone who reads, it was just not me who was having the
problem, and I was
able to make the conclusion that Adobe has suddenly stopped
support for any Windows OS prior to XP. However, that forum is only
vis
isted by web users who are not really able to solve specific
problem except maybe at giving some pointers. Now Mr. Samuel V. has
als
o given me links to Shockwave FAQ and Shockwave Player
Support Site. I want to now emphasize that I have visited both
those sites an
d read thoroughly the contents there, but was unable to solve
my current problem, and that was why I made a contact Customber
Servic
e. As for Samuel's help, I kindly appreciate. However, I am
displeased at this response since it does get me anywhere near my
soluti
on. I hope he or someone would kindly contact Adobe for
someone who can help in getting this solved. Since he has given me
an ID num
ber, Adobe staffs can easily view my original issue,
furthermore, I hereby have given the link to the Shockwave forum
page where I p
osted my original problem and where others are having the
same issue. For now, I wait for a satisfactory reply from anyone
who is wi
lling to help.

Shockwave Player 12.1 install help destination select
So I'm trying to install shockwave player but when I get to the destination select part I can not click on any of the disk and continue. For the macintosh Hd disk it says : adobe shockwave not supported on this OS version
(I upgraded my macbook to OS X Yosemite a couple of days ago)
and on the adobe shockwave 12 disk it says Adobe shockwave Player 12.1 can't be installed on this disk. The contents of this disk can't be changed.
Prior to this I uninstalled the shockwave player.Oddly that took about 2 seconds to complete.
I really need shockwave for interactive videos for school.Everything used to work well but I don't know what happened.
Please Help me...
How can I successfully install shockwave player?I had the same problem on an iMac but managed to download and install shockwave 11, see Adobe - Webplayer
There appeared a notice for incompatibility, but was able to continue installation. Apps (not requiring sw 12) did run after. -
Shockwave player-director player error
i have installed shockwave player however I keep getting an
error message
this application requires an Xtra(flash movie...) that either
did not exist or failed to initilize properly. Please make sure the
appropriate xtras are in the xtra folder
what do i do?Hello
I have same problem . Plus you get error 125. even tried call
adobe. they wanted to charge $39 to fix because it is free. -
I was on a web site and received the message that to view certain content I would need to install Shockwave Player. I went to the Adobe site downloaded and installed the mac version. Everything seemed to install properly. When I went back to the site that I needed the player for I got a pop up message saying I needed to launch Safari in 32 bit mode. The problem is that when I click ok on this message Safari freezes, I can't relaunch it or close the window. So I force quit Safari from the Apple menu. If I then go to the finder and set Safari to open in 32 bit it will launch and display the content on that site properly. However I don't really want to keep Safari in 32 but if I don't, any site I go to that requires the player will now freeze Safari requiring me to force quit again.
So I ran the Shockwave uninstaller after which I can go to those sites but of course can't view the content but at least Safari doesn't freeze up. However I realized that at least that one site had worked in Firefox prior to my installing and uninstalling the player. Of course now even Firefox won't display that content since I've uninstalled it telling me I need a plugin but when I click that it tells me an applicable plugin cannot be found and that I will need to manually install one. Of course that would take me back to where I was with Safari freezing up on those sites unless it's already in 32 bit mode. I'm using Safari 5.0.1 on OS 10.6.4 Is there a way to rectify this short of always running Safari in 32 bit?William Boyd, Jr. wrote:
It seems you're stuck: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/512/cpsid_51273.html
Further, "As of July 2010, Adobe has not announced future plans for 64-bit native Shockwave Players."
I'm not sure it's worth installing it again. If it were just a matter of launching Safari in 32 bit mode I might do it if it were something I really wanted to see but since Safari always freezes after that pop up message requiring me to force quit, it seems like too much of a hassle to me.
