Fail to keepalive failover on message duration
Hello every one. thank you for your response before. Today's problem is
KEEPALIVE.
For wire disconnect failover test.
Two HP servers on single Forte environment( version R30F2 ).
Hp's keep alive karnel parameter is default as two hours.
Forte's environment configuration for keep alive is within two minutes.
On central server has one router partition and two load balance partitions.
Secondary server is the same configuration.
I start the application up by application outline on Econsole.
After that, I access to server from win95 client. then the message
is sent to the central server.
I force to be off line the application on the central server for BACKUP
,then
following messages are sent to the secondary server.
I cut line between central server and secondary server.
The client is freezing until keepalive time.
However, after keepalive timeout, the client request does not success to
send to the central server. I expect the request will wake the
application up
and normally process it on the central server(for back up).
That is the fail over I think.
Forte writes some messages to the client after keepalive timeout like this.
Form bottom the nessage sequence
1. CLOSE CONNECTION BY KEEP ALIVE TIMEOUT.
2. FORTE attempts to retry to connect because the request is message
duration.
3. Distributed access exception 'the router does not have available
members'
4. same as 2.
5. same as 3.
Also,on message 3 includes description 'the router does not have
available members'.
Does 'the router' mean central server or not?
If the central server's one is why cannot wake the off line router
partition up ?
If secondary server's one is why Forte attempts to request to disconnect
partition
because Forte disconnect partition himself by keepalive timeout?
OR once I force to be off line partition,Forte failover ability is
cancelled?
(I think it isn't because case of software failover succeeds. this case
belong to
hardware failover problem and relation to TCP/IP low level protocol or
Forte
keepalive protocol )
Have you ever experienced?

"Failed to Send the HTTP Message..." - HTTPSupport problem
Hello,
We're having a few difficulties when the HTTPServer in UDS5.0.3 running on Solaris 8. Basically, we have a pair of MS .NET servers using some XML Webservices that we reside on the UDS server.
The symptoms of the problem are that a lot of "Failed to send the HTTP message..." messages are being seen in the log for the partition that contains instances of the HTTPServer. The reason given is a UsageException on the ExternalConnection - stating that the "Object is not open for I/O so it cannot be read or written" (ExternalConnection::Write at 1). This only occurs when a HTTP Response is to be sent back to the .NET server.
Unfortunately, this exception appears to be occurring somewhere within the code held in the HTTPSupport library, so we can't easily trace the error. Worse still, we don't actually know what's causing the error.
Does the error indicate a problem with comms between our UDS HTTPServer and the .NET servers? We've also noticed a large number of socket connections being left in a state of CLOSE_WAIT when this error occurs (which eventually block the port altogether resulting in the HTTPServer instances becoming unresponsive).
As far as I can tell, the Solaris TCP/IP settings are all at the OS default.
Many thanks for any assistance,
Jason Bridgen.Hi Gordon,
The problem was solved, the customer changed his ip adress on the server and it's OK now!
Thank you !!

Hi!
We have 5 Exchange 2013 servers and when I’m trying to run a script that includes the cmd-let Get-MessageTrackinglog with StartDate = the first of the month and with EndDate = the end of the month I get the following error message after
a couple of hours. The script is run on the server SERVER01 and goes through the Message Tracking logs of all Exchange servers. I have tried the script on other servers and get the same result.
Processing data for a remote command failed with the following error message: Error occurred during the Kerberos reponse.

I have gone through “about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic”, but can’t find anything related to my issue. There is nothing in the Application or the Windows PowerShell log either.
/HenrikHi Henado
Check the time on your Exchange server(s) relative to the DCs and ensure they are in correct sync
Use another account which is assigned the Organization Management permission and log to to the server run the command in shell and see the results
Run
Add-PSSnapin -Name Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.E2010
Set-Adserversettings -ViewEntireForest $True and then run message tracking command and see the results
If none of the above helps you may need to remove and re-install the WinRM and see the results
Good Luck :)

WLC 5508 - LAP1242: Failed to handle capwap control message from controller
Hello everyone,
after finally successfully upgrading my WLCs from 6.0.199.4 to 7.6.100.0 there is another problem showing up...
If I want to change any configuration regarding the APs on the WLCs (which doesn't work) I get the following error-messages from the APs:

Forte 30N2 : Message duration SO restart after a crash issue
In our application, the batch processes are based on a 'Controller-Processor' pattern. A controller starts many processor tasks as parallel processes.
The problem is that our Controller process crashed. However, by that time, many processor processes had already been started by it. These processor tasks were not terminated when the controller crashed.
Since the controller process is of Message Duration, it 'restarted' automatically after the crash. With this new start, all the processor tasks were started again and therefore were executed twice.
Now we are looking for a way to terminate the processors automatically if the controller crashes. Is there a way to do this in Forte or do we have to code this explicitly ?
If not, we can stop start of a processor if it is already executing. But then, how do we get a notification of completion of a previous execution ?
Any ideas will be appreciated.
Please let me know if the problem description is not clear.
Thanks and regards.
Deepak"Since the controller process is of Message Duration, it 'restarted' automatically after the crash" --NO, the controller was re-started automatically because Forte allways tries to re-execute the method of a SO marked to have Dialog Duration=Message. Apart of that, the SO will be re-started ONLY if the Forte Autostart feature has been enbled in your Forte Environment, otherwise it won't re-start.
Your problem is more an architectural issue than a Forte one. The children tasks can not notify their parent about a problem (ussually by reporting an exception event) because they were started in a different partition and Forte have partition boundaries when handling the multi-threading for tasks executed in cascade. (Task1-->Task2-->Task3).
Even if your children tasks can report an exception event to the parent SO, there is still a timming issue: While re-starting the controller a children task can report an exception event, but it wont be listened since the controller is still re-starting.
Hope this helps.. -
'OMF export failed due to internal error' message
Hi,
Has anyone ever got an 'OMF export failed due to internal error' message when trying to export in OMF format?
I get that every time I try to export in that format.
How can I make it work?

Any suggestions on what I can ask my IT department to change on the server so I can connect would be greatly appreciated.Hi Jeremy,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
From the error and other description it seems that there is some misconfiguration with setup. You need to provide the FQDN name of the server as might server name is not resolving its name properly and so facing issue. As seems from below details:
[2014-Nov-26 15:52:20] RDP (0): Final rdp configuration used:gatewayhostname:s:gato.gibbscam.com
screen mode id:i:0
use multimon:i:1
session bpp:i:24
full address:s:dev-JeremyS2.gibbs.local
Configuration used and full address name both appears different so please verify configuration accordingly.
Please check the DNS record, check certificate whether it match FQDN name of the server with certificate name, also try to check to connect with IP address and see what result you can find.
You can follow below guide to configure RD Gateway and after that verify the result.
1. Deploying Remote Desktop Gateway RDS 2012
2. How To Work with RD Gateway in Windows Server 2012
Hope it helps!
Thanks.

ZAM collector failed to get WIF path message
This irritating message constantly appears in C:\Program Files\Novell\ZENworks\Asset Management\bin\colw32.log on many PC's. On some PC's it appears every time the collector service tries to start but on some it only appears infrequently. I need to know how to troubleshoot this message as many of our workstations are not producing an inventory and it's down to this message.
I have done some tests today on several PC's all logged on as me. Some work, some don't, so it can't be anything to do with policies and rights to the registry. Using ZAM 7.5 IR16 with latest product updates.
Thanks

I should have added, a previous post suggested adding the line
Diagnostic=1
into cps.ini which i have done.
Diag.Exe and DoRes.DLL already exist in the client directory. This has created and populated a file called CClientEvent20081201.log in the client logs directory. However it contains no useful information at all as to why this "Failed to get WIF path" message appears.
On the particular PC I am using here, there are 2 .WIF files dated 27th November in the InboxCC directory then nothing since so it did work until last week so why it has stopped working now I have no idea.

I had the same problem. It turns out the Windows firewall was blocking port 7461. Once port 7461 was opened everything started to work.

My Time Machine backup keeps failing. I get a message the "Volume has the wrong case sensitivity for a backup". Please advise.
Thanks, HowardYou can change the case sensitivity of the sparsebundle.. but I really doubt the error is real.
See A8 here.
http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
The sparsebundle should have case sensitivity turned on.
I cannot even fathom how it could have changed.
Let me recommend before you start fooling around with the sparsebundle.
Do a full network start.
Power everything off.. start up modem.. wait 2min.. power up the TC.. wait 2min.. power up any other network gear like switches.. wait..
Now power up the computer and try it.
If the error is the same.. I would do a factory reset of the TC.. give it all short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. Then reset TM .. see A4 in the same reference as above.. and do a verify of the backups.. A5 above and try the backup again..
No luck..
Then erase the TC and start over.. it is sometimes necessary as TM does get itself in a knot.
