Fail to load in CS5 - File not compatible

I'm importing a video (tried various video formats) into PS CS5 and when I save without doing any edits the PSD file loads fine.
As soon as I have applied an edit to a frame (e.g. stamp tool, context sensitive fill, etc) the edits are fine and I save the file. The file can now no longer be loaded into PS and comes up the the "not compatible with this version of Photoshop error".
The edit system does not have any form of anti-virus installed.
Any help? I'm kind of stuck and have a bucket load of editing to do,

Sorry for slow reply, I've been away.
I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit) and I have tried both the 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Photoshop.
My system spec:
Asus Rampage II Extreme motherboard
i7-980x 6-core/12 thread CPU running at 3.33 GHz
12 GByte of RAM
Gaintech GTX-285 graphics card with 2 GByte of memory
4 drives configured as: C is 1 TByte SATA, D is 1 TByte SATA, E is 2x500 GByte in a RAID 0 array, F is a 2x500 GByte in a RAID 0 array.
I think the system specs are sufficient and doesn't even break a sweat for all the stuff I do
I have tried 8-bit to 32-bit, same problem.
This worked fine on CS4. Unfortunately I don't have CS4 installed since I rebuilt the PC when CS5 arrived (learned to keep my edit PC clean and hence have very few problems).
I have uploaded the files to an FTP server. I'll email the details to you separately.

Known Issue: MIDL fails to compile IDL files in UAP projects. Gives following error: midlrt : error MIDL4034: Failed to load a dependency file. Windows.winmd (HRESULT:0x80070002 - The system cannot find the file specified. )

Visual Studio gives the following error:
midlrt : error MIDL4034: Failed to load a dependency file. Windows.winmd (HRESULT:0x80070002 - The system cannot find the file specified. )
This is because Visual Studio is looking for a WinMD file that contains the base types. Unfortunately the metadata path passed by default to MIDL through Visual Studio does not resolve to the correct file.

Work around:
Update the "Additional Metadata Directories" for MIDL to include the Windows.Foundation.FoundationContract.WinMD
To update the “Additional Metadata Directories” in Visual Studio, do the following:
1) Right click on your C++ Project file.
2) Choose properties.
3) Under Configuration Properties, click MIDL
4) Under MIDL choose “Command Line”
5) In the Additional Options text box enter:
/Metadata_dir "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\References\Windows.Foundation.FoundationContract\1.0.0.0”
or on X86 machines
/Metadata_dir "C:\Program Files\Windows Kits\10\References\Windows.Foundation.FoundationContract\1.0.0.0”

Failed to load the configuration file for the workflow

Hi experts, yesterday I created and publish custom workflow using SPD from client pc using site administrator account but today its shows error message. I tried creating new test workflows, edit and publish to think it will push a fresh SPD settings
in working condition and it works pretty right.
But the thing I noticed after closing SPD Im not able to re-open workflows and it gives the same error message Failed to load the configuration file for the workflow. This issue only happen today since day one I used SPD and all the time
Im using the same pc.
Any ideas will be appreciated.

Maybe you have permission problem or there is invalid xoml murkup.
To verify this from SharePoint Designer use the following steps.
In Office SharePoint Designer, in the folder list, select the plus sign next to Workflows library to expand it
1.Next select the plus sign of the workflow in question to expand it
2.Double-click the configuration file (Workflow_name.xoml.wfconfig.xml) to open it
3.Right-click on the page, and then select Verify well-formed XML
4.Correct any errors and save the file
5.Reopen the workflow to test
Also double check that you are using SPD with the same credentials you created workflow

'Error loading plugin: Plugin file not found' message on ONLY 5 sites, but all others OK. Help, please!

Hi Again!
I posted this problem here before, but since I really need to access the sites that receive this error message in less than a month, I had to re-post; hopefully someone who didn't see it before will see it & have a solution for me.
Here are the details: I'm running windows 8.1 & I use Firefox 33.1.1, Pale Moon 25.1.0 or Opera 26.0 as my browsers, (I have IE installed & up-to-date, but I never use it). I followed the 10-point checklist on Adobe & everything was done, except for "uncheck Hardware Acceleration" in Flash 'Settings'; I tried to uncheck it on this site, where it's indicated, as well as in my 4 browsers when I'm doing something that uses Flash, but no matter how hard I try, I can't 'uncheck' the check mark in that tiny box! Since this error problem only affects 5 web sites, & I can watch streaming media on all other sites, I don't think it's an issue.
Here's how this problem began: I was watching a live, streaming nest-cam on 5/09/14 around 11:00AM, (yes, I DO know the exact time & date, because it happened so suddenly while I was watching this website that I'd been watching since the end of February, 2014), when my screen went black. I thought it was probably an Adobe Crash, but when the usual Crash Report window didn't show up, I just closed Firefox & reopened it, expecting to resume watching the nest-cam. When I went back to the site, I got the black screen with the "Error loading plugin: Plugin file not found" message. The chat portion on the site still works, though. I know there are other sites with this nest-cam feed, so I started trying them, but it took several tries for me to find one that didn't get the error message! I posted this problem on "Windows BBS" forum, & someone else posted that the same thing happened to them AND on the same sites! They didn't have a solution, either. I cleared my cache, rebooted my PC & even did a System Restore, but whatever happened in that brief second made using ONLY 5 sites impossible. Here are the sites that receive the error message:

I'm an amateur nest-watcher & it's vital that I have access to these 5 sites, so if anyone knows how to fix this, PLEASE tell me!

I have exactly the exact problem described below but do not have a folder with the same name as the volume created under the volume. Please can someone help - I've tried everything. This problem only happened when I upgraded to Dreaweaver CC!

Make sure you are running the latest version of iTunes on your computer (10.6.3). Then, plug your iPhone into your computer with iTunes, and do a Restore.

My latest attempt to import photos from my slr resulted in an error. Something to thew effect of file not compatible. never had this problem before.

What system and iPhoto versions are you using? What camera model and are you shooting just jpegs or RAW or both?
See if you can launch Image Capture and get it to recognize your camera. If it does then download the photos to a folder on the Desktop to get them safely on the hard drive.
See if the files can be imported into iPhoto from that folder.
Reformat the memory card with your camera, take some test shots and try to import into iPhoto directly.

I am currently building an Application, and I want to use sereval windows. But if I want to open the second window, I ways get this command line message:

The compiler sais No Issues. In the Application, there is a button, in the main window, that opens the second Window. At first, I tried, to create an empty XIB and add an NSPanel. After that I tried to use a XIB with a window, but it doesn't really matter. The problem is the same. I tried several things, that might cause this problem. File`s owner is set to an Window Controller, that was made for this window and the name of the window in the code seems to be correct. A Controller, that is responsible for sereval other things (such as table view or all the other buttons) has this method if the button, which should open the Window is pushed:

I did everything like it was done in the example project, but it somehow doesn`t work.

The error says 'Add Vocabulary' (with a space) - you seem to be using (?) an XIB named 'AddVocabulary' ...?
What is the name of your XIB, exactly?

File Not Compatible w/ This Version of Photoshop?

I was working on a file last night, clicked save, walked away, and came back a few minutes later. It appeared that the file saved; however, my computer was frozen. I gave the system a forced restart and now I get a message saying that the file is not compatible w/ this version of photoshop (CS6). I can see the saved file in Lightroom and it has the last edits in it that I did right before saving, but the file will not open in Photoshop.
I tried renaming the file w/ no luck. If I right click the file and click properties I can see the correct file size and camera information for the file.
Any ideas on how to remedy this?

You're probably out of luck. It sounds as if your system failed just at the time when Photoshop was trying to save your file, and what actually got onto the disk was truncated or corrupted.
I take it the file did not auto-open the next time you started Photoshop. That would have been your best bet, for the Photoshop Auto-Save recovery feature to have kicked in. But apparently the failure occurred when there was no file auto-saved, or perhaps the auto-saved version was deleted coincident with the save. That's bad luck indeed.
I'd definitely suggest looking in the Windows System Event Log to see whether you're having drive problems, and if none are reported perhaps doing a CHKDSK on the drive to ensure your file system isn't corrupted.

Files not compatible???

I started some vehicle wrap graphics yesterday, saved them on my hard drive then backed them up on an external drive.
Today I am unable to open the files from either source, I get the following message: Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop.
OS 10.7.3
Photoshop CS 5.1 Extended 12.1 x64
The files are psd, sizes are 1.34 GB (obviously not exceeding the 2GB limit)
The files all have their proper .psd extensions and my system and software are all up-to-date.
Is there anything I can do to open these files?

Very frustrating Adobe. I have a client waiting for work that your software keeps losing/locking me out of for no reason. Maybe take 'professional' off the box until this is resolved and replace it with beta?
I am having the same problem. I just saved my PSD file, then immediately go to open it right after closing and it tells me "Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop. This is happening regularly. I am not working on a server nor do I use Norton Antivirus. I regularly run ONYX to clean my system and never had this problem until this version of Photoshop.

The only other thing I've done in recent months is install a couple trials. I'm wondering if installing trials of CS6 products screws with something that makes the system THINK you've upgraded the other ones? I never installed a CS6 trial of photoshop though. Only CS6 trials of Flash Pro, Flash Builder, and InDesign. Not sure why that would have anything to do with Photoshop but...I'm also not sure why saving a PSD doesn't later let you open or have any access to your work.
I can see the file in OSX preview, but of course that doesn't get you any access to the PSD layers and other features which is why you use Photoshop. Otherwise any other software does the trick.
Anyone find a solution?

File Not Compatible With This Version

I opened and created various files today, and after saving and trying to reopen I get this error:
"Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop."
One of the same files opened just fine earlier, and after opening and making small changes to adjustment layers and resaving, I encountered this error.
I did some searching, and all the causes seem to be related to using large files, Network Storage and Norton Anti-Virus. However, my files are under 2 gb, created locally (not on a Network Drive) on a machine that does NOT have Norton Anti-Virus. Hard drive was replaced on this machine in the last 3 weeks, so it's unlikely that there's an issue with that.
Any other possible explanations? All of the posts I've seen on this topic seem to be related to Smart Object and/or Placed Photo/Video layers. Perhaps it is a Photoshop glitch related to certain types of Smart Objects / Placed Photo/Video layers?

What you can try..
Create a blank doucument in photoshop .
Try to place the file on that by Goint to File -> Place .
It works if its not a multi layered file.
