Fail to open mapping debugger in client machine

I have installed OWB 10.2.0.2 successfully on HP-UX server, and designed some db mappings and workflow on that.
Meanwhile, I installed OWB 10.2.0.2 as client on Windows XP.
Currently, I could deploy and execute the mappings and workflow in Control Center from client side, which could approve that the control center service is running OK on client, but when I tried to open mapping debugger, I met the following errors:
Mapping Debugger Error:
oracle.wh.service.sdk.mapping.debugger.WBMappingDebuggerException:
DBG1032:Cannot connect to location MAPPING_LOCATION:
java.sql.SQLException:Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
You are not currently connected to a Control Center schema. You must establish a connection
to a Control Center schema before proceeding with the current debug session. If a connection
is not established , the debug session will end
It is strange that I could open the mapping debugger from server side, i.e. in XWindow of HP-UX, without any other modification, like redeploy or restart the control center service.
Could anyone give me a hand on the issue?

If your server serves a web page with a link to a specific drive letter then when a client clicks the link it is going to look for a file on thier client machine.
Do you understand the client server relationship?
The href attribute of your anchor tag must point to an http or ftp address for a client to remotely access or download that file.
<%= request.getContextRoot() %> will give you the context root, then you can place the rest of the path. The files must be within the context of the http web server.

  • Open bat file on client machine using webutil

    Hi all.
    I'm on devsuite 10g.
    I want to run a bat file on client machine using client_host function of webutil.
    I have tried first to execute the bat file with mouse double-click in order to check if it is ok, and it works.
    Now I want to execute this file from my form using webutil.
    Here is my code:
    --> with this code I select a file from client machine
    Declare
         LC$Fichier Varchar2(1000):=null ;
         PC$Filtre Varchar2(2000) := '|All files|*.*|' ;
    Begin
         LC$Fichier := WEBUTIL_FILE.FILE_OPEN_DIALOG
         null,
         PC$Filtre,
         'Seleziona un file da caricare'
    If LC$Fichier is not null Then
    :output.apri_file := LC$Fichier ;
    End if ;
    End ;
    --> with this code I execute the file that I have opened
    declare
         cmd varchar2(30000) := null;
    BEGIN
         Cmd := 'cmd /c start "" "' || :output.apri_file || '"' ;
    CLIENT_HOST(cmd);
    END;
    When I execute my form I have this error:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: ....folder of file opened.
    Can anyone help me to solve this problem??
    Thanks in advance,
    Fabrizio

    When you say the DOS window opens for few second, is your batch file being executed?? did you see the results??
    The answer in NO for both of your questions.
    If I try to drag and drop the file I have error.
    How can I attach an image to this post, so that you can see the error??
    Thanks,
    FabrizioThis seems like a directory or OS level permission issue on the batch file, What is the error you got when you tried drag and drop the batch file in an DOS window???
    I think you need to upload the image to a site and use the markup for the image, include the full URL of the uploaded file between ! (exclamation marks) something like ! http://../post.gif ! without the spaces.

    Have you created the Net Service connections for SQL Developer to use?
    Does SQL Developer have access to this Net Serviice name?

  • Opening  a file from client machine

    Hi All ,
    I have a requirement .I need to <b>integrate / Open </b> an .exe file in the portal and this exe file will reside on every on every client machine from which portal is accessed . Can you suggest me some methods . I have tried with URL iview , but it is not working .
    Thanks
    Aneez
    <b>P.S Guaranteed points for helpful answers</b>

    Hi Aneez,
    In the registry the URL(s) that you add are for the source, not target. So you will have something like;
    URL1=http://<portal>:<port>
    of course this would allow any code run from your portal to open exe files without a warning; so you can add the URLs of individual iViews to your registry if you want a bit more control from a security point of view.
    Where you launch the apps;
    javascript:launchApp('c:\windows\notepad.exe c:\autoexec.bat')"
    I think you can only launch one app at a time, here you pass one string containing the paths to two apps, pass one at a time to the launchApp function.
    Also, try adding four '\' characters each time instead of two, one an escape character for the Java compiler and one an escape character for the JavaScript in the browser.
    Temporarily add
    alert(strCmdLine);
    to your launchApp function to see the exact path that the function is trying to launch, make sure that this path contains one and only one '\' character at each point, eg "C:\Windows\notepad.exe". You can also put the
    obj.LaunchApplication(.....
    line in a try/catch block, put an alert in the catch and see if there's a problem with the JavaScript code trying to launch the app or if the problem is elsewhere.
    As far as using XP goes...... I've used LaunchInIE at a few customer sites but I don't think that any were using XP so I can't say that I've seen this working under XP. Perhaps on the WhirlyWiryWeb website you can find some info about whether or not you can expect this to work under XP.
    Perhaps, if there's another PC in or near your office that has access to your portal but doesn't have XP installed you can try it from there yourself and see if your code is working on that machine but not yours with XP installed.
    I hope this helps,
    Patrick.
    Edit.
    Of course if you're running this from some HTML file on your own harddisk and not from the portal for testing purposes then in your registry the URL that you need to add should be localhost, 127.0.0.1.

  • JMS JDBC store failed to open after switched to a different database machine

              Hi,
              I'm running WebLogic 6.1 sp3/Oracle 8.1.6 and I configure the JMS JDBC store for
              persistent messaging. I was working fine until I switched to use a different database
              machine which has the same software configuration as the old one. It was giving
              me "failed to create tables" error at start up time. But I checked the database
              and found out the two tables (<prefix>JMSSTORE and <prefix>JMSSTATE) were both
              created and I was able to query although they don't contain any data. By the way,
              I'm using thin client.
              Anyone can help? Thanks a lot!

    Hi Michelle,
              I suspect a permission problem where the new tables are created
              using the JDBC driver's default schema, but the prefix
              specifies another schema "qa". So the tables are getting
              created, but aren't found.
              Work-around one:
              manually extract, edit, and run the ddl that creates
              the tables to specify the schema. Prepend
              "qa.JMS_SERVER_" to all table names
              (This is fairly simple to do.)
              http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs61/jms/appb.html#999286
              Work-around two:
              Don't include "qa." in the prefix.
              (i'm not sure if this will work)
              Work-around three:
              Change the username of the JDBC pool to "qa".
              (i'm not sure if this will work)
              Work-around four:
              Change the schema for the tables that were created
              under the JDBC driver's default schema to "qa".
              (I'm not sure how this is done, or even
              if it is possible. Database specific.)

    Hi,
    ... I would ask this question in the Forms-Forum instead of here ...
    Have a look at WebUtil: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/webutil/webutil.htm

  • Error while opening a report in FRstudio client machine.

    Hi,I'm getting below error while opening a report in FRstudio client machine. please help me if any of you resolved this issue earlier.
    client laptop: 64bit windows7
    hyperion version: 11.1.2.2
    error msg:

    thanks

    I've seen umarshalling error when there is a difference between the client and server version. Is there a patch applied? I would recommend to uninstall the existing one and install if from Workspace. (this will ensure that you've the correct client version)

  • Form ARXTWMAI.fmb is not openning in client machine

    Hi All,
    I am using EBS version 12.1.3
    and oracle form builder 10g.
    When I am trying to open a form(ARXTWMAI.fmb) in the oracle form builder(client machine) has stopped working and leads to close the form builder
    I loaded all the dependent forms(.fmb) and libraries(.pll) into client machine
    while other forms are opening perfectly.
    Please let me know what could be the reason
    and how can I open this form.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Jenney.

    i guess you have compiled the form with different patch then it actual was.....
    confirm with other party what Patch they were using in Forms 6i
    like Application was developed with Patch 16 but you modified with Patch 18 and deployed it Others forms are still compiled with Patch 16.

  • Java Script in OAF to open a client machine Application

    I was trying to use java script in OAF to open any kind of application located on client machine like notepad, calc etc..
    Here is my original java script

    <script Language="JScript">
    function runcmd() {

    WSH.run(File);
    </SCRIPT>
    <input type="button" value="run" onclick="runcmd()"/>
    <html>And my code OAF processRequest is
             String s = "function runcmd() {File='mspaint.exe';WSH=new ActiveXObject('WScript.Shell');WSH.run(File);}";
            //getting body bean
            OABodyBean bodyBean = (OABodyBean)pageContext.getRootWebBean();
            //attaching javascript function to page
            pageContext.putJavaScriptFunction("runcmd", s);
            // calling this function on load of body bean
            String javaS = "javascript:runcmd();";
            bodyBean.setOnLoad(javaS);And when run it doesn't open application.
    Also can the java script be attached to a button click.

  • Calling process flow / mapping from comand line on client machine?

    Looking to call a process flow / mapping from a commad line on the client machine. Online research has found some attempts at it, but nothing solid. I'd like to test this functionality so that I can eventually build these calls into a wrapper used by an enterprise scheduler.
    Thanks

    what oleg2 is writins is oke but I think
    it is easier to write you one wrap around this sql-call, because then you have to parse some parameters and do other additional stuff

  • OpenConnect VPN client suddenly failing -- Failed to open tun device

    This started recently on my laptop, when trying to connect to my company's Cisco VPN it simply fails and doesn't provide much information:

    Jun 28 08:01:54 winter openconnect[17279]: Failed to open tun device: No such device
    I've made sure that the kernel is configured to load the tun device:
    [root@localhost log]# zgrep CONFIG_TUN /proc/config.gz
    CONFIG_TUN=m
    [root@localhost log]#
    And beyond this, I cannot seem to find any more information on what's going on. I know that the client is actually connecting, because we use a 2-step auth service that pushes requests to my phone, and I receive the request to authorize the login. It simply cannot start the tunnel. I've checked if the tun module is actually loaded, and it is not:
    [root@localhost log]# lsmod | grep -i tun
    [root@localhost log]#
    But as I understand it, this shouldn't matter, correct? The module should get loaded as needed by userspace applcations? I *believe* this started after I had setup an OpenVPN connection to connect to a client's VPN, but I made sure to uninstall OpenVPN (as it's not required by openconnect) and the issue still continues. OpenConnect works totally fine and connects to my company's VPN without a problem, on my desktop running Arch.
    If anyone can shine some light on this I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!
    EDIT: I found a solution, though maybe someone can shine some light on why this works (and what broke in the first place). I basically insmoded the actual .ko file of the tun module:
    [root@localhost net]# find /lib/modules/ -iname 'tun.ko.gz'
    /lib/modules/3.15.1-1-ARCH/kernel/drivers/net/tun.ko.gz
    [root@localhost net]# insmod /lib/modules/3.15.1-1-ARCH/kernel/drivers/net/tun.ko.gz
    [root@localhost net]# lsmod | grep tun
    tun 20931 0
    [root@localhost net]#
    After doing this I can connect to the VPN without issue.

    Did you upgrade to a newer kernel recently without a reboot afterwards? See https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=163377 for a (perhaps) related problem and solution.
