Fail to Re-install SmartSound/Sonicfire 5

Cannot RE-install Smartsound and Sonicfire Pro 5 again after removing the Pinnacle Studio plugin.
Setup in PE 11 always ends with "Modify-Repair-Remove" and error 1605 (not installed).
Same with downloaded ZIP-file from Installing SmartSound | Windows 32 bit and 64 bit
Have removed Sonicfire 5 entirely with Uninstall but no go. Messages keeps coming back as if the program still is installed (which it is not)
Cannot reinstall it.
My movies are finished but I cannot use my smartsound libraries !
Help please.

If this is not a SmartSound issue related to its changed support as mentioned in the link provided, then consider...
Installed vs Uninstall
If SmartSound is not presenting in Control Panel/Installed Program but you are getting a message saying that SmartSound is installed, then do a free ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts).
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
After ccleaner run through, if still getting the installed already message when you go to install, then email SmartSound at [email protected] for its input pointing out the large SmartSound library that is involved.
This is not Adobe. Rather user to user. And, I do not know how much support you might get from Adobe on a Premiere Elements 11 SmartSound issue at this time.
As an aside...when you have gotten that "installed already message", are you given the opportunity to continue so that this supposed already install is overwritten by a new install?

  • Where do I find the serial-# for Smartsound Sonicfire Pro 5

I bought Adobe Premiere Elements 11. Now I wanted to install Smartsound Sonicfire Pro 5 that was downloaded via the sound tab, but it requires a serial-#. Where do I get that?

If you follow the instructions on the pop-up, you'll see that the serial number is free. It's e-mailed to you when you click on the link and follow the prompts.
This will complete the installation of SmartSound ExpressTracks. However, Sonic Fire Pro is yours only on a 30-day free trial. After that it costs $99. Fortunately, although it opens when you launch SmartSound,  you don't need Sonic Fire Pro to be activated and paid for to use ExpressTracks.
Just click on the link on the pop-up to get your free serial number.

  • Installing SmartSound QuickTracks Updates (only) Kill WAV Files

I do not know how any of this might impact PrE users, but in the PrPro forum, one user encountered the complete loss of WAV playback in PrPro. He traced the issue to having installed JUST the updates for SmartSound's QuickTracks plug-in for Premiere, and NOT the full plug-in, plus updates. He catalogs his efforts to fix the WAV issues in this THREAD.
I'm posting this as a H/U, just in case someone has installed JUST the SmartSound QuickTracks updates, without the full plug-in and they loose the ability to play back WAV files.
Hope that this helps someone in the future.

Remember - this is directly related to PrPro, but might also play a role with PrE, especially earlier versions of the program, before QuickTracks for Premiere were added as part of the installation.

Addendum: later versions of Premiere Elements now have the SmartSound Sonicfire Pro Express Tracks version (not the Scoring Edition) included, rather than the older QuickTracks module. This allows one to use the newer SmartSound Multi-Track discs, where the older QuickTracks module will only work with some of the older Multi-Track discs. The version of SmartSound Sonicfire Pro Express Tracks included is limited, vs the Scoring Edition (available for purchase), but allows for a lot of editing of SmartSound material. The installation is separate from the installation of the Premiere Elements installation, and involves a download of the Sonicfire Pro Express Tracks installer. It is also necessary to then apply the update to the Sonicfire Pro Express Tracks program.
I feel, however, that the Sonicfire Pro Scoring Edition, when used with the Multi-Track discs, is so very useful, that I recommend anyone, who is serious about creating custom soundtracks for their Videos, look closely at it, and also that they see the SmartSound tutorials (on the SmartSound Web site), to discover the power that it provides - it is like having a million variations for each Multi-Track song.

  • Install Failed:  The following install step failed: run preflight script

I'm trying to reinstall Photoshop CS2 on an intel iMac, OS 10.5.5. I ran the install program, after a few seconds I get the following error message:

"Install Failed: The following install step failed: run preflight script for Adobe Photoshop CS2. Contact the software manufacturer
for assistance." (I did contact adobe, but they no longer support CS2) Originally, I had installed PS CS2 when I was using OS 10.4.X, then I upgraded to 10.5.x. PS CS2 was working fine on my system. Then I accidentally deleted the program, now I'm having trouble reinstalling. I'd appreciate any help that you can give me.

I encountered the exact same problem - I had upgraded to CS2 from a previous version of Photoshop, back
when I was using OSX 10.3.9. Later, I upgraded my OS from 10.3.9, to Leopard (10.5.8.)
CS2 always ran flawlessly, through all those systems.
Then I had occasion to reformat my HD and reinstall Leopard 10.5.8.
That's when the CS2 installer failed, with the same message mentioned above.
When I called in, they basically said, buzz off....we won't help you.
First, this shows that their software is flawed.
They managed to allow this problem to occur due to inept programming.
Now they are either incapable, or unwilling, to write a programming fix for this problem.
It reeks olf ineptitude, plus colossal, inexcusable arrogance and disrespect for their customer base.
Just my humble opinion of course...and I've been a Photoshop user since 1990.

Again without stating the trouble shooting steps you have taken, its hard to direct you with any information.
Try a different port on the computer.
Does the iphone beep when u plug it up. ?
Plug iphone into computer and give it 3 to 4 minutes to see if it connects and is running slow.,
Delete the apple mobile device from your computer.
    Upgrade itunes to newest version.
Is you USB cord defective ?
Any USB 3.0 on your system ? .
Delete or Disable  any antivirus program on your computer ?
I will tell u the problem is your computer not the phone.
We could do this for hours.

  • I have tried to upgrade Painter 11 on my iMac running OS X 10.5.8. I keep getting the error message :- : The following install step failed : run pre install script for Corel Painter11 _ SP1 . Contact the software manufacturer for assistance   " Help pleas

I have tried to upgrade Painter 11 on my iMac running OS x 10.5.8 but get the error message : The following install step failed : run pre install script for Corel Painter11_SP1. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance "
I have contacted Corel and after several emails and one telephone call, they tell me , they cannot help but they think the problem could be with the OS.
Does anyone have any suggestions, please ?

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

  • HT1338 I failed to re-install Mac OSX after I removed it while removing my personal info. I forgot my Apple ID & password at the time. I have now recovered them with my windows type spare computer. How can I reinstall OSX on my MacBook Air?

I failed to re-install the OSX on my MacBook Air after erasing my personal information in preparation to sell the computer. Reason: I forgot my Apple ID and password. I have recovered my ID and password on my wondows computer. There is no software on my MacBook Air right now. How do I re-install OSX?

Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
    1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    2. After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This will install the OS originally installed on your computer. If you plan to sell or give away the computer, then do not upgrade it or the purchaser will not be able to use it.

  • "install failed: not enough install space" error

I have a Palm Pre and am getting a "install failed: not enough install space" error when I try to install an app unless I remove one first.
The phone shows that I have 5.8GB of space left.
I'm guessing that this means there is a limit as to the number of apps that can be installed.
Does any one know of any way to increase the number of apps that can be installed?
If not I guess I'll kill some of the worthless Spring apps on there...
Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

I am at WebOS 1.1.0. The app itself does not matter, i.e. I can uninstall an app and after that, I can add another. When I get the error, it does not matter what app I tried to install, from where, or what method.
I can replicate the issue no matter how I try to install an app:
Through the official Palm store (developer mode on or off doesn't matter): I get an error "Sorry, Not Enough Memory. Please delete an application you have installed to make room"
Through FileCoaster: I get an error "install failed: not enough install space" error"
Through the SDK "drop to install" method: a DOS window opens and it looks like it's installing the app, but it never shows on the phone, so the install seems to fail
I haven't tried installing the app through Novaterm, if it helps narrowing down the issue, please let me know and I'll give that a shot.
Based on Flipflop 84's comments, it seems like there seems to be a limited amount of space reserved for apps (since he has less apps than me and is getting the error) rather than the number of apps being the issue. 5.8GB of free space are somewhat worthless if I can't use the space for apps, so I'd like to allocate an additional Gig of that to apps.
So I guess the question has changed to "how do I increase the amount of space available on the Pre for installing apps?"
I would think that would be simple for the Linux Gurus out there that seem to be able to disect and analyze the WebOS down to the atom level, but surprisingly, I haven't been able to find any information on it (and I'm a Linux noob myself, so I'd have to clue where to start looking).
If you guys need me to try anything or need more information on anything, please let me know.
I appreciate everyone's help with this!

  • Failed boot camp install - how to remove windows partition?

    Hi There,
After a failed boot camp install, boot camp no longer sees (or can remove) a windows partition - Disk Utility can't seem to remove it and if I use:
    $ diskutil list
It shows up as partition 5 "Microsoft Reserved"
I also have a portion of free space that I can't seem to incorporate back into the main OSX partition - how do I remove the windows partition and make the drive a single OSX drive again?
Any help would be much appreciated
    Cheers
    Ben
    - New Mac Pro
    - Installing onto internal 1 TB SSD
    - 10.9.3
    - Windows 8.1

Just incase others have this issue, this wasn't caused by using Disk Utility (Disk Utility couldn't remove the partition anyway) it was caused by repeatedly trying to format the Boot Camp partition using the Windows installer when Windows refused to install.
The solution is an Apple tech note (I can no longer find it sorry) that sates that no other hard drives besides the internal HD and the Windows USB flash drive can be connected while installing windows.
    Cheers

  • Creative Cloud fails to see installed apps

I have installed Creative Cloud in a non-standard way.  I install the applications on a separate drive from the operating system (and indeed where Adobe insists that Creative Cloud installs itself), this is done for all of my applications as it means that, usually, a re-install of the operating system for whatever reason doesn't require re-downloading and installing everything again.
Recently the C drive failed completely and had to be replaced.  All of the CC (2014 versions) applications still exit and can still be launched from the drive they were installed on, but the CC application itself fails to see the installed app's.
I've tried changing the installation folder to the one where they all are;  changing the language;  signing in and out after each action;  and deleting/renaming the file in the OOBE folder.
    So, two questions :
Why does CC not have an installation path other than C drive?  There is nothing in it that requires it be there.
How do I make CC "see" all of the applications that are already installed?  (N.B. deleting the folders and re-downloading isn't a solution, it's a work-around that is clumsy and stupid, putting the entire onus on the customer)
Finally, am I the only one who finds the CC launcher to be the biggest PITA of the new version of CS?  Every other version I've used worked and updated faultlessly, the latest version just seems to be an absolute mess.

The install info is stored in the opm.db and caps.db files and those went down the drain with your system drive. There is no way to restore it without reinstalling. The rest is not worth debating. Things just are as they are.

  • I have a 27" imac (intel) my hard drive failed and I installed a new one. This is my first time dealing with this so I am having trouble re-installing the OS. Install disc spits out and ? mark with folder appears what am I missing?

Like the title says. My 1 TB drive failed and unfortunately my computer isn't covered on the replacement program even though my hard drive is the one they are claiming to replace. So that is not a solution just to get that out of the way. So I replaced the hard drive. What I am having trouble with is re-installing my OS. I have 10.6. When I load it and restart it just spits it out and I get the question mark folder. What am I doing wrong is there a step I'm missing? I did do a back up to my Time Machine before the crash. Can I plug it into it and reload format? I'm new to this so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Well, let's hope that nothing was jiggled out of place when you were installing the new hard drive. Your optical drive may just be out of alignment or the disc you have is "dirty." Get a lint-free cloth and some rubbing alcohol, then clean the disc as thoroughly as you can starting from the center and working outward in a concentric circlular motion. See if that helps. In particular clean the inner portion well.
If this does not help, then you have a problem. You have opened the computer yourself. That action voids all support from Apple. If you take the computer in for service the store may refuse to service the computer. This is not related to your now expired warranty.
