Hi and Welcome to the forums!
From you post, I cannot tell if you've done all of this or not, so I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
5) Install DTM to your PC
6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Receive Failed to Register Error when downloading?

Some of the games I play stated I needed to install the latest version 11.1, or whatever it is.  I uninstalled the previous version from my computer and clicked on "install" on the Adobe website.  I receive a "retrieving install" bar...ok.  Adobe Flash Player 11 downloads to about 54% then I receive a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it and it says "Error: Failed to Register."  I am using Windows XP and have no idea why I am receiving this error message, what it means, or why it will not download.  Now I cannot play ANY games  =(  Please help!  Thanks!

  • "Flash9b.ocx failed to register" error message and problems caused

I didn't want to update my flash player but finally was "bullied' into doing so, because i kept receiving a screen message telling me to update it, without being given the option to say "No. Thank you anyway."  After I updated my flash player to 11....something (I didn't memorize all the numbers), even though the installation completed, I now have this ERROR MESSAGE whenever I try to access the internet on my computer:
    Solution Center
    Module
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9b.ocx failed to register.
I don't think I really needed my Flash player updated at all in the first place.  I don't use computer games and don't have an "x-box", I don't have a camera on, or with my computer.  I just didn't want to keep seeing that irritating demand to "Update".
Is there a way for me to remove the update and re-install the flash player I already had?
In the past, when I used my HP Officejet installation software from the original cd, to reinstall my printer-Solution Center software, it solved the problem I had when updating other Adobe software.  Unfortunately, the software from this cd, did not solve the problem this time.

Download the uninstaller for Flash Player

  • "Failed to Register" Error on XP with SP3

Hi...I hope somebody can shed some light on this problem since it has become such a frustrating issue which I have researched for over a week now with no clear answer as to how to fix it!
It all started when I tried to update my Flash Player about a week ago. I have (Dell) Window's XP with SP3 and IE 8. At first I did NOT uninstall my old version of Flash Player as I thought the new one was just an update and would write over the old one. So when the new one downloaded and seemed to be doing good until about halfway through the install when it threw out an error of "Failed to Register" I just figured that maybe I did need to uninstall the old one first after all. So I uninstalled and then rebooted and did another installation, which turned out the same result -- Failure to register. I have tried various things suggested here and also by others on the Internet with no luck at all. However, I did not monkey around with the registry, I am too nervous of that sort of thing and read over and over again that those that did try that route did not have any success anyway.
Also, I want to make it clear that I am signed on as the administrator of my PC. I can make changes and have in the past so it is not that at all. I do not understand why this problem is persisting and although so many folks are having trouble with it Adobe has not found a solution that will work reliably for us.
One other note...I have also tried to update Flash Player on two other machines we have here at our house.... both of those also gave me the exact same error, the failure to register message. One of those machines is a Dell that is running Window 7 with IE 8 and the third machine is an Asus laptop running XP with IE 7 or 8...I'm not sure which and I don't have it here at the moment to check. But as you can see, with three different machines throwing up the same error message it is not just an isolated incident with my main PC. It seems to be a universal problem.
Has anyone had any luck since the last posts here where folks complained of the same thing? It's so frustrating since I rely on my main PC and can't do many of the things I used to without Flash Player available to me. I only use IE or AOL to browse the Internet. Any suggestions?

    Chris,
I'm sorry I have not checked the message board but I have been pretty sick...however, I wanted to say that I did finally get Flash to install. At first, I was totally against downloading the Microsoft fix that goes into the registry to remove register keys that might have been left behind so I kept that for the very last option and only if everything else failed. Everything failed. So I downloaded the two items needed to do the job. The one item had to be unpacked and put into the same folder as the other (sorry, I can't recall what they were called and I am using my iPad and not on the PC where I have the info...) and then you click on the installer which starts the registry fix. It took several minutes (while I sweated bullets!...not real crazy about messing with the registry!) but in the end when I went back to try installing the Flash again it went off without a hitch. I did the same with the other two computers and all is well I'm happy to say! Thanks for getting back to me though. I appreciate it.

  • Failed To Register error

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium (was using Adobe Flash Player 11 without any problems).  I tried to install Adobe Flash Player 12 after uninstalling previous version and rebooting; however installation stops at about 50% then I receive an error   Failed To Register  ...   I am the Administrator for this pc.
I attempted to install Adobe Flash Player 12  offline  by saving the file (install_flash_player_ax) to my DOWNLOADS folder then ran the program with Internet Exployer closed.  When I did this I got an error  ACTIVEX FOR FLASH PLAYER could not register...  What am I doing wrong?

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
SAVE the files (don't choose "Run")
Reboot and rtun them from your downloads folder.
    You'll see no error.

I personally recommend not removing the proprietary Bluetooth drivers.
It's a pretty involved procedure even with an experienced tech.
I suggest you check the list of Bluetooth dongles listed in the Microsoft section.
Remove the Leonvo Bluetooth drivers, install the Native Bluetooth.

  • Getting "querypanel.dll failed to register" on Windows 7 32 bit machine

Trying to move from CR 2008 SP2 to CR 2008 SP3.
For the CR 2008 SP2 version of our application, which runs our Crystal .rpt files, we used Visual Studio 2005.  we then created a Visual Studio .msi file, using the merge module (CRRuntime_12_2), to install this application on a target machine that had .NET Framework 2.0 and VC++ Redistributable 2005 SP1 installed. If these two latter prerequisites were not installed, our install would fail because the CEReportSource.dll could not be registered.
After installing CR SP3 on my development machine, we created a new Visual Studio project, again using Visual Studio 2005. I used CRRuntime_12_3 as the merge module and everything else was the same.
I was getting this same error message "CEReportSource.dll failed to register" when I attempt to install the SP3 version of the app on the very same machine on which I previously successfully installed the SP2 version. I found an answer in these forums to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 update. Even this did not help. When I installed  MS VC++  2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.17, finally the problem of "CEReportSource.dll failed to register"  went away on XP and Vista machines.
Now I am trying to install my program on Windos 7 32 bit machine and I get "querypanel.dll failed to register".
Q1. By installing S VC++  2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.17, the problem of "CEReportSource.dll failed to register" did not occur. Is this the right thing to do. I am not sure why VC++ 2005 SP1 did not fix the issue.
Q2.What do we need in order to prevent "querypanel.dll failed to register" error on Windows 7 32 bit machine.
    Thanks for your time.

    Moved to .NET SDK forum.
Search here, lots of info on distribution. Likely caused by MS updated the C++ runtime to include security updates. Go to MS's site and download the latest C++ distribution package with enhanced security.
If you use the CR MSI package rather than the Merge Modules it should work.
    Thank you

  • CR for VS2010 deployment - crtslv.dll failed to register

I'm still having problems with packaging up the CR for VS2010 library with our applications installation.
I'm using InstallShield 2011 for the installation setup.
I've included the CRRuntime_13_0.msm file. (That is the only MSM file I included, are the others needed also?)
I've included the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86 and the x64 versions.)
I have tried to do a test install on both a 64bit and a 32bit Windows 7 computer and it keeps giving me the crtslv.dll failed to register error on both computers.
Error 1904.Module C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\crtslv.dll failed to register.  HRESULT -2147010895.  Contact your support personnel.
I thought it might just be due to the 32 bit MSM causing the problem on the 64bit computer, but I can't even get it to install on a 32bit computer. (On the 32bit computer install, I even removed the x64 bit version of the MS C++ 2005 Redistributable from the installation setup just to make sure it wasn't causing a problem).
I have even tried having my Install Shield setup 'Chain' the CRRuntime_32bit_13_0.msi file to my main installation (not using the Merge module). Even when that runs, it produces the same crtslv.dll failed to register again.
BUT, if I run the CRRuntime_32bit_13_0.msi manually on the computer it installs correctly. (I even tried using the same /qf parameters that InstallShield is using on it and it also worked OK that way.)  So I can't figure out how to get it to run in conjunction with my InstallShield installation.
Can anyone give me any suggestions?
    Mike...

I finally got past this issue and got things to install, with a few hackish work-arounds.
First the CR13 msm redistributable appears to requre the 32 bit version of "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security" that you'll read about in every post.  On 64 bit machines I found that even when it was installed,I would still get a crtslv.dll failed to register message, followed several other dlls not registering.  Once I installed the 32 bit version on the 64 bit OS, the crystal 13 redistibutable installed fine everytime.  I did this on several 64 bit VMs all running Server 2003,XP, and Windows 7.  It ran fine every time.
The problem you'll face is how do you install the 32 bit version of this ATL security pack on a 64 bit machine.  You may be able to download and run the 32 bit version from Microsoft's site with the link Ludek has posted.  That wouldn't work for me because I had to distribute it with my software so I used the prerequisite available for InstallShield.  The prereq however is designed to only run on 32 bit machines, so I edited it in InstallShield and modifed the conditions to allow it to run on both 32 & 64 bit operating systems.
The next problem encountered is that this 32 bit prereq getting installed on a 64 bit machine will result in an error being returned that the installation appears to have failed.  Well it is a 32 bit installation not intended for a 64 bit OS and we're not supposed to do that.  I did say hackish work-around.  The 32 & 64 bit files are installed to different directories and the 64 bit version does not get overwritten.   If you check the event viewer you'll see a message logged in that the installation of the ATL prereq completed sucessfully.  So I modified the behavior of the prereq in InstallShield to "continue the setup if the condition still indicates it is required after completion".  Now it runs without error and everything for Crystal installs sucessfully.
The final problem was also with the pre-requisite.  The code determines if it is already installed by looking for the file:
    [WindowsFolder]\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.ATL_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.4053_x-ww_473666fd\ATL80.dll
I found on some machines it was previousy installed to:
    [WindowsFolder]\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc80.atl_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.4053_none_d1c738ec43578ea1\
This results in the prereq being required every time because the file it's checkig for is not found.  Furthermore, it fails every time, most likely because it's alreday installed and not supposed to be installed again.  So once again, I modified the prereq conditios in InstallShield and made it look for the file in both locations to determine if it was installed.
I haven't seen any problems since with either the Crystal runtime or the ATL update.  Happy day.
The part I stll don't understand is that SAP says they can't distribute the ATL update in their MSM because of licensing issues, but we can sell our software and distribute it freely.  Microsoft even create the prereq so that we could distribute it freely.  So why can't SAP distribute the required files for their runtime?  A lot of people on these threads have wasted a lot of time and money on this issue.  Ludek provides great support but maybe this issue needs to be investigated further by development.

  • Fail to Register while installing Flash

I'm getting "Fail to register" error while installing Flash. Windows7, already signed-off Cloud. Please help.

  • Latest flash player fails to register!

I have been fighting this for days now, and it's keeping out of my university on-line classes. In use W7 64 OS + IE8 32. As of now, I must use IE8 32 for use on my on-line classes. Also W7 has all the recent updates per MS.
I noticed that IE8 does not have Flash Player installed, but I do have active scripts enabled in Internet Tools and other Security settings to medium or lower. When I attempt to install the latest Flash Player, I get a registry error and installation fails.
I have tried these steps + notes:
    1. Un-installed Flash using Adobe's uninstall many times. Rebooted.
    2. Reset IE8 including removing all add-ons. Re-opened IE8.
    3. Un-installed Flash from FireFox 6 as a test.
    4. I also have Chrome browser, but can not remove Flash Player from it since its integrated. I have IE8, Chrome and FireFox browsers on my W7 system.
    5. May be important: Since I was then running IE9, I initally attempted to install Flash Player Beta 11, but had issues there also, but can't remember details. So, I then removed IE9 and defaulted to IE8 32.
    6. I have read over several links on the Web concerning this, and nothing I've tried works, BUT, it seems to be a common issue with others.
It would be great if someone would help me thropugh this as its inmportant. If possible, I would be OK with a remote login.
    Sincere thanks,
    William

Thank you for posting a complete description of your problem with all details; I wish more people would do that!
First I would like you to try the following:
    download the installer from the link in this topic http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580 and save it to disk;
close all browser windows, then right-click on the downloaded installer and run it As Administrator.
If you are still getting the 'failed to register' error, please follow the instructions in http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49419.html

  • Sync: Multiple Instance Error Causes Desktop Manager to Fail

I can no longer sync my Outloook calendar with my Bold 9650 using Desktop Manager 6 (bundle 3084). I failed multiple times, rebooted each device and tried again but still receive the same error. Error is a message from Windows that Desktop Manager has stopped working. The last few entries in the log indicate:
08:55:35.962 Sync information for application 'Calendar' in translator 'Outlook' --
08:55:35.962 Number of newly added records since last sync (New): 482
08:55:35.962 Number of records modified since last sync (Modified): 0
08:55:35.962 Number of records deleted since last sync (Deleted): 0
    08:55:35.965 Performing two-way sync
08:55:35.966 ERROR: Multiple instance error. Remove a recurring instance or exception on (11/8/2011).
08:55:35.966 ERROR: Multiple instance error. Remove a recurring instance or exception "Bi-weekly Leadership Team Call".
I saw an entry in the Outlook calendar related to the error, but not in the BB calendar, and deleted it but this did not resolve the problem. At this point, I cannot get DM to complete synchronization. Has anyone else experienced this and identified a resolution?
    thanks,
    eric

    Hi Eric,
Did you manage to resolve this? I have the same error and cannot get DM to complete the sync.
    Thanks,
    Johann

  • Desktop Manager Install Error 1904, nothing resolves...

I have been having the following problem the last few days.  On my work desktop (WinXP x64) I installed the DesktopManager software without hitch, but on my home desktop (WinXP Pro SP3) I also keep getting the error message:
Error 1904.Module C:...GW.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel.
I am also getting the same error message for gwapi.dll, desktopsetup_pb.dll, and syncAE_pb.dll.
I am a very technical person so I had no qualms with trying the crackberry fix, but it didn't work.  I was able to register all of the modules after the reset, but when I would open up Desktop Manager it would never connect to my Curve 8320 vis USB or Bluetooth.  With Bluetooth it would recognize the phone and it would even pop up a message saying that it had "detected the device".  It would ask if I wanted to connect and I would say yes and then nothing would happen.  Another 30-60 seconds later it would pop up the same message saying it detected my Blackberry and asking if I wanted to connect.  After about the tenth time of this loop I closed out the Desktop Manager.  I uninstalled the software and deleted the program folders and then logged onto the "Administrator" account (my account is also an admin acct, but I logged onto the default admin account that is labeled "Administrator" by Windows).   Upon logging into this account, I attempted to upgrade the Windows Installer 3.1, but it told me that I have a newer version and couldn't do that (WinXP SP3).  So, I registered the atl.dll and tried installing the Desktop Manager software again (I'm installing v4.6 w/ Media Manager).  Once again I got the same error messages.  So I restarted and attempted to manually register the dll's again, and I'm now getting the error message:
    DllRegisterServer in gw.dll failed.
    Return code was: 0x80070005
So, to sum it all up, I've tried all six "resolutions" that RIM has at: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/articles/963/KB03928_f.SAL_Public.html, and the first "workaround."  The second "workaround" doesn't apply because there is no option to "ignore," there is only one button that is "Ok."  I'm starting to get pretty pissed off by all of this and I'm ready to throw the **bleep** Blackberry out the window.  I love the phone and it's capabilities, but if I can't use the capabilities then it's pretty much worthless to me... then I should have just gotten an iPhone or a WinMobile device.  It makes no sense to me that the software will install just fine on my WinXP x64 machine at work and not on my 32-bit home machine.  Usually it's the 32-bit progs on the 64-bit machine that cause problems.  When is a fix going to come?
    Here are my details:
    BB Curve 8320, OS v4.5.0.52 (Platform 2.7.0.66)
    DesktopManager Software v4.6 (w/ MediaManager)
    WinXP Pro, Service Pack 3
    Pentium 4, 2.80GHz
    2GB DD400 Dual-Channel RAM

    Hi,
    Cleanboot your PC
make sure all firewall anti virus programs are off
    Clean your windows temporary files
    Start desktop software.
Please let me know how it goes!
    Thanks
