Failed Acrobat Pro 9 5x, including "serial" fix download

Windows Vista SP2 32 Bit.
Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Student License version
Hi,
I purchased Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro (student license) a week or so back and have been unable to install.
I installed, uninstalled, and installed / uninstalled TWO times.
I then found a "license removal / repair" download, which brings up a dos screen: try it the first time, try it a second time, and if it fails a third, hit 0 to remove the license completely.
It still has failed to install.
I tried reinstalling AFTER that repair download, and it still won't install.
The problem is, it INSTALLS theoretically correctly, but any time I open it up to create a document, or open ANY pdf it states:
"Before proceeding you must first launch Adobe Acrobat and accept the End User License Agreement"
And exits me from the program.
I have to uninstall this Pro version just to read PDF's with the standard free Reader.
What is going on?  I have work to do with this program, and am very frustrated.
Do I need to "clean" the registry or something? I don't have any clue how to specifically get rid of Adobe Pro files after an installation.

Update:
The schools IT department had me uninstall Adobe Acrobat Reader, as they notice any remnant Trial versions of Adobe can interfere with installation from the DVD.
Install, FAIL.
Next:
Retrieved a new CD install (same key, as it would always accept the serial number) from the school.  They believed it was a faulty disk.
I reinstalled Adobe Pro 9, and for the FIRST time was able to Accept the User License Agreement, and then it crashed.
Same old thing.
I am now going to uninstall, download a trial version of Adobe Pro 9, and try to activate it from there.
Will update when I can.

    Go to http://www.adobe.com and sign-in with you Adobe ID ( on which you purchased the subscription).
    Then, on right hand side panel, click on 'Desktop' under Apps section. And then location Acrobat XI Pro and download it.

  • "The Installation Failed" Acrobat Pro on Mac

    I have downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro XI for the Mac as an upgrade from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.
    On Installation, having gone through all the steps, typed in my serial number, watched it go through the install process, a the very final stage I receive this error message:
    And then, I'm done.
    I have tried to install on my MacBook Air (2011) running 10.8.2 over my existing Acrobat Pro 9.0.0.  I have over 30GB of space available on the drive and have 4GB of RAM.
    Lest I had made a mistake in purchasing, I also tried downloading a trial version of Acrobat Pro XI, and installing from that download.  I received the same error message.
    I downloaded a further version as a direct download from 'My Account' page - and that had the same error message.
    Just to check the position, I downloaded the file to my 2007 iMac (running 10.8.2 also) and received the same message, so it is not machine-specific.
    As a further precaution, I have also tried installing XI having removed v9 - just in case.  Same error message...
    Any ideas?

    Hi Matt and Tom, this is the email I recieved from tech adobe help on this, after doing this, I was able to get it working.  But the I can't attache the file here.  if you email me at jeremyrerickson@gmail, I will forward this email on to you with the file you need to replace in yoru peferences file.

    Before copying this plist please quit Acrobat and Safari.
    Unzip the attached plist and copy/drag it to your ~/Library/Preferences/
    folder.
    Launch Acrobat.
    Open PDF in Safari.
    Also it would be really helpful if you can send us the below logs: Launch
    Finder > Go > Go to FolderŠ > /private/ and hit go and search for the
    below paths.
    /private/tmp/var/log/install.log
    /private/tmp/amt3.log, oobelib.log, swtag.log , PDApp.log
    This is how to show/hide the hidden files on Mac:

    You can try this. Not sure if this will definitly help but I hope this should:
    Delete the following preferences folders:
    a) ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/
    b) ~/Library/Caches/Acrobat/
    c) ~/Library/Caches/Acrobat/
    d) ~/Library/Preferences/Acrobat Distiller Prefs
    e) ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/
    Here ~ represents your home directory. Empty your trash, Restart the machine and then start the Acrobat.

    After Adobe Download Assistant is installed, you can start it at any time and select a product to download at the bottom of the window. The list updates as new products become available to download with the Adobe Download Assistant.

    Using the start button, Acrobat Pro should appear. But it might not, being Windows 8. Maybe it puts an icon on your desktop, maybe not.
    How about checking c:\program files (X86)\adobe\acrobat 11.0\acrobat. If you have this folder, look for Acrobat.exe.

    I purchased Design Standard CS6 the entire package. I downloaded and installed but I was continually having problems with Adobe Acrobat Pro. I tried updating to the newest version but it only made the problems worse (acrobat was super slow and constantly not responding). So i decided to try to uninstall and then reinstall the program. Well I uninstalled, and then attempted to reinstall ONLY the adobe acrobat pro but it says my serial number (which is for design standard) will not work. Since Acrobat Pro is included in the suite, i thought this wouldnt be a problem. Is there anyway to get around this without uninstalling the entire design standard and reinstalling everything? I only need to reinstall acrobat pro.

    You need to reinstall Acrobat the the Creative Suite, you cannot download it is a separate application and install it that way because it will be looking for a serial number relative to being a singly purchased application.

    As your Acrobat is not accepting the serial number , I would recommend you to refer the following documents once and see if that fixes the issue for you .

    I have a license for Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, however, I've lost my installation disc. I was able to download files from Abobe, but when I entered my serial number from my account, it says invalid. I noticed it may be because it says it is the 9 Pro Extended version.
    Is this why my serial number is not valid and if so, where can I get the files I need for version 9?

    Please contact Customer Care at 8008336687 and they would be able to unlock the serial number for you.
    Since you said you owned a previous version and you lost the serial number, you can log on to your Adobe account online and check for purchased softwares.
    Else if the software was registered the support agent would be able to retrieve that information with the email used to register the software.
